Fat Joe Files Extortion Lawsuit Against Former Hypeman After 'Pedophile' Claims
Fat Joe has filed a lawsuit against his former hypeman for extortion after the defendant publicly accused Joe of being a 'pedophile' and cheating on his wife with reality TV star Erica Mena.
According to TMZ, Fat Joe claims that the plaintiff, Terrance 'T.A.' Dixon, filed a legal notice in March demanding compensation for his supposed ghostwriting contributions to several of his songs.
The rapper then says that Dixon began to spread malicious rumors regarding his personal life online and elsewhere after Joe refused to acquiesce to his demands.
The most serious of these public slights was the plaintiff calling the Bronx native a 'pedophile' and writing that Joe was 'looking for little girls' in a post on his social media account, deeming his former employer as 'Lil Joey Cap' and a 'sucker.'
Joe issued a statement addressing the lawsuit, denying all allegations against him while promising to uncover Dixon and his legal team's unsavory actions, which he believes to be motivated by greed.
'These allegations are completely false and part of a criminal conspiracy orchestrated between a disgruntled former hype man and his attorney. These two individuals have been scheming together to extort me with their elaborate and ludicrous demands changing by the day.'
The 'Lean Back' rapper continued, 'The relentless threats, harassment, and defamation I've endured as they peddle salacious lies are utterly deplorable. I'm taking legal action to expose their misconduct and I'm fully confident that the facts will reveal this is nothing more than a deceptive and desperate scam.'
Fat Joe claims to have met Dixon in 2006, taking the plaintiff under his wing and enlisting him as a member of his inner-circle, a relationship that lasted until 2019, when Joe says the two amicably parted ways.
However, Joe says it wasn't until several years after their split that Dixon began eyeing a payday and enlisted Tyrone Blackburn, who's also representing multiple accusers of Sean 'Diddy' Combs, including Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jenkins, to take legal action against him.
Dixon also launched an all-out assault on Joe's reputation and character in a series of social media posts, which included accusations that Joe had an affair with reality TV star Erica Mena and admitted to ordering the slashing of former Terror Squad member Cuban Link's face during the early '00s.
The plaintiff also charged Joe with falsely accusing Cuban Link of sleeping with Big Pun's widow, Lisa Rios, and sending him veiled threats in an attempt to instill fear in him.
In a separate post, Dixon continued to verbally demean the Terror Squad founder, referencing his weight and accusing him of participating in salacious sexual acts.
'This is the dance the sucker do after getting his a** licked don't have to much fun on somebody else's yacht you fat soggy titty taco meat stumach you ain't no don n**ga foh you are the number 1 sucker,' Dixon wrote, sharing a doctored photo of Joe's head on another person's body.
Fat Joe's attorney, Joe Tacopina, has blasted Dixon's filing against his client, deeming the pending legal battle as a half-baked attempt of scamming the rap star.
'The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are completely false and part of a criminal extortion scheme orchestrated by an attorney who a federal judge recently condemned for abusing the court system to harass and pressure defendants,' Tacopina told TMZ.
'Mr. Cartagena will not be intimidated by fabricated claims, lies about witnesses, or shameless threats. We are taking immediate legal action to expose this fraudulent scheme and we will hold all parties responsible fully accountable.'

Hailey Bieber Reveals Postpartum Stress Over Ongoing Justin Bieber Split Rumors: ‘It's a Mindf–k'
Hailey Bieber opened up about her difficult postpartum experience amid ongoing rumors that she and her husband, Justin Bieber, are experiencing trouble in paradise. 'Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I've ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,' Hailey, 28, told Vogue in an interview published on Tuesday, May 20. 'And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, 'They're getting divorced and they're this and they're not happy': It is such a mindf--k. I cannot even begin to explain it. It's a crazy life to live.' Hailey and Justin, 31, got married in 2018, and they welcomed baby No. 1, son Jack Blues, in August 2024. Despite once seeming like a solid couple, Hailey and Justin have recently been making headlines amid speculation that they're headed for a split. The rumors hit a new level when it was reported that Hailey unfollowed Justin on Instagram, though she insisted that fans had nothing to worry about. 'It's a glitch. Didn't unfollow him. Hope this helps!' she wrote in the comments section of a TikTok video about their alleged estrangement in March. While speaking to Vogue, Hailey added that Justin's experience as a child star has helped her learn how to respond to haters online. 'I've learned so much from Justin, really,' the model said. 'He's been doing this literally since he was a child and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know. He was like, 'Baby, trust me, I've been here before many, many times. You're not going to win. There is no winning.'' In addition to admitting that rumors about her and Justin's alleged issues have been hard to navigate, Hailey also shared that she hasn't had the easiest time transitioning to motherhood and said she has struggled with her changing body. 'Every day I have to talk to myself, like, 'Hailey, you had a baby … You grew a human. You birthed a human. It's OK. Give yourself grace. Give yourself time,'' she said. 'When people talk about 'bouncing back' — back where, because my hips are wider, my boobs are actually bigger than they were before. They did not go back. And great, I'll take it, but it's not the same body that it was before.' Their relationship rumors come amid concerns for Justin's health. While fans have wondered if Justin's gaunt appearance was due to drug use, his rep previously told TMZ the 'Baby' singer wasn't abusing drugs. In March, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that their relationship had some cracks. 'His behavior's been troubling for some time. What fans are seeing now is just a small taste of what his life is really like,' the source dished. 'He goes through periods where he isolates, then periods where he's active and will spend time with friends. Justin can also have pretty intense low periods.' Additionally, the insider said that Justin's behavior 'takes a toll on Hailey.' Despite their issues, the source added that 'divorce isn't an option right now' and Hailey is 'hoping Justin can turn things around.'

Leah Remini reveals where she and Jennifer Lopez stand after Ben Affleck caused friendship fallout
Leah Remini revealed where she and Jennifer Lopez stand after their fallout over Ben Affleck. The 'King of Queens' alum shared that she and the pop star started communicating again when they both filed for divorce from their respective spouses in August 2024. 'We'd text each other loving messages of support,' Remini told Us Weekly in an interview published Wednesday. The 'Kevin Can Wait' actress also insisted she was never feuding with Lopez, explaining, 'Sometimes you don't talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn't mean the love is lost.' She added, 'Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn't mean we're at odds.' Remini, 54, filed for divorce from Angelo Pagán on Aug. 29, 2024, after 21 years of marriage. Remini, who shares a 20-year-old daughter, Sofia Bella, with Pagán, cited 'irreconcilable differences' in her filing. Lopez, meanwhile, pulled the plug on her union with Affleck on Aug. 20, 2024, after two years of marriage. The 'On the Floor' songstress, 55, waited to file the papers until the anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony — despite being separated from the Oscar-winning actor since April 2024. Rumors of Lopez and Remini's falling-out began swirling when the latter was notably absent from her BFF's 2022 wedding to the 'Gone Girl' star. At the time, TMZ reported that Remini was busy helping her daughter prepare for college. However, Page Six later learned that the former Scientologist skipped the ceremony because she didn't agree with Lopez's decision to wed Affleck. An insider told us that Remini warned the 'Let's Get Loud' singer to remember why she called off her first engagement to Affleck back in 2004. Per our source, Remini told Lopez that the actor was 'selfish' and 'not fully committed as a partner.' ' was so mad, she cut off all ties,' we were told. But we learned in May 2024 that the longtime friends had reconciled.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber Have ‘No Regrets' About Cutting Out Old Friends
Justin Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, have totally revamped their social circle in recent months, with an insider exclusively telling Life & Style that the couple insists they're way happier as a result and there's zero tolerance for people who've been spilling their secrets and sucking them dry for many years. 'They have no regrets and think it's kind of funny that people they've cut out of their life are trying to attack them over it and cloaking it in this phony air of concern,' the source tells Life & Style. 'All that does is make them more sure they made the right choice cutting them loose.' The insider continues that their 'so-called friends are clearly anything but friends or trustworthy, which is something they were suspicious of towards the end.' The source notes, 'And now it's just proven they were right.' 'Justin and Hailey are both very happy with who they have in their lives at the moment. They are extremely close to their pastor Judah Smith and his wife, Chelsea,' the insider shares. 'Judah and Chelsea have been married since their early twenties and are great role models for a healthy marriage.' One person that Justin cut ties with was his former manager, Scooter Braun. They professionally parted ways in 2024 after they reportedly experienced financial misunderstandings. 'Since Justin cut ties with Scooter, he has been free and is only trying to align himself with people and projects that he truly believes in,' the source says. 'He doesn't want to make money or spend time with people he doesn't have the same values as.' Justin, 31, is changing his social circle after fans worried for his health. Concerns that he was struggling began to circulate in early 2025 when he was spotted appearing gaunt and was photographed smoking from a bong. However, a rep for the 'Baby' singer shut down claims that he was abusing hard drugs in February. The rep told TMZ that the rumors were 'absolutely not true,' and they added that the allegations about Justin were 'exhausting and pitiful.' The rep said that the speculation regarding Justin's mental health 'shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.' Meanwhile, the rep also explained that Justin had a 'very transformative' year and that he 'ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.' In March, an additional insider exclusively told Life & Style that Hailey, 28, believed she and her husband needed a change of scenery to get away from all of the negative attention. 'They can't set foot outside without being harassed,' the source revealed at the time. 'It was bad enough before, but now that they have a baby, it's so much worse, and Hailey's worried about the stress it's causing Justin. She sees how tightly wound he is and feels that the best thing they could do is leave.' 'If Justin were to move somewhere that could allow him to have a normal life, there's no doubt it would do him a world of good,' the insider continued. 'That's why the idea of moving someplace quieter, where they can just focus on their family and not be under a microscope 24/7, is so appealing.'
