Lidl is selling £22 privacy ‘fence' that will transform your garden into a serene haven for summer

The Sun06-05-2025

LIDL is selling a privacy fence that will keep nosy neighbours out of your garden and turn your backyard into a serene haven.
With temperatures set to climb again this weekend, after a chilly bank holiday many of us are likely making plans to spend time relaxing in the garden.
2
However, there's nothing worse than sitting down with a good book and a cup of tea, only to notice that your nosy neighbours are peeking into the garden.
Although you may think that putting up a fence to block peepers out will be a pricey endeavour, Lidl 's privacy fence is just £22.99.
The Livarno Home Garden Screening is perfect for creating privacy and serenity in your garden, balcony or patio.
It features a tasteful hedge design made with durable plastic, allowing the screen to blend in with your greenery.
The product is perfect for attaching to existing fences, railings and pergolas, and can be cut to size, to make it a perfect fit.
To attach the screen, simply use the 20 cable ties included in the purchase.
And there's no need to worry about rain or wind ruining the screen, as it is both weatherproof and UV-resistant.
The privacy screen is available to buy now, as part of Lidl's Middle Aisle offers.
However, you'll have to be quick, as with all Middle Aisle products, once they're gone, they're gone.
Lidl fans looking to spruce up their garden fence will also be keen to check out the Ronseal One Coat Shed & Fence Protector, which is currently on sale at the bargain supermarket for £7.99.

A single coat of the budget paint will give you lasting colour and protection for two years.
Not only this, but this shed and fence paint will stand up to rain, frost, snow and sun - yes, you heard that correctly.
The 'high-quality' garden fence and shed paint is not only quick-drying, but it's super easy to apply too.
And anyone keen to add a bit of colour to their garden will be delighted to know that Lidl is now selling a Marguerite daisy plant for just £9.99.
Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.
Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.
It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.
Posting on the Garden Makeover Ideas On A Budget Facebook group, which boasts 850,000 members, gardening fan Juliet posted a picture of the flowering plant and said: "Lidl £9.99!
"It's so pretty, I'd say run not walk as they won't be there for long."
Other shoppers have now been racing to their nearest store to bag one.
"Need a trip to Lidl", one person said.
A second cried: "I saw this in Lidl's today & wish I picked one up."
A third wrote: "I brought 2 last year and they didn't come back….. so I just got one this year…they are lovely."
A fourth begged a pal: "Are you going to Lidl tomorrow?? If so yes please X2."

The £3.99 Lidl plant you need in your garden – it has gorgeous big flowers until November & grows back bigger every year

Scroll down for more guidance on how to look after the plant over winter FLOWER POWER The £3.99 Lidl plant you need in your garden – it has gorgeous big flowers until November & grows back bigger every year THE delightful Dahlia is one of the UK's most popular flowers - and you can get yours for as cheap as chips. The classic British favourite is in full bloom now – and with a little bit of help, they're the gardening gift that will keep on giving until November. 2 The beautiful plant could last through the winter Credit: Lidl Lidl is selling the low maintenance Dahlia for just £3.99 in a range of stunning colours. Happy customers commented online: "Tubers bought in Lidl... can't wait for flowers." A second added: "I found the Lidl ones my best last year." A third user posted a photo of her flowering Dahlias and wrote: "One of the Lidl. Only one survived. All others were ruined by snails and slugs. This one is three years old and always leaving it in the soil for winter." Native to Mexico, dahlias are back in fashion, with gardeners growing them for big bold border displays or as cut flowers. With their vast colours and strong flower power, they're also a magnet to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, providing essential pollen for several months of the year. How to look after dahlias During the summer, the perennial plants like regular feeding and watering, and if given the right care, will grow again next spring-summer. Dahlias favour warm, sunny, sheltered spots with free-draining soil. However, going into winter, dahlias need specific treatment to survive, and it's called 'overwintering'. Trying out Lidl's new weeding tools When to lift and store dahlia tubers When the green foliage has been damaged by frost, you want to dig the tubers up. If the frost is late, dig the tubers by late November. If you live in a climate where temperatures rarely drop below freezing and the soil is well-draining, dahlias can be left in the ground. If you choose to leave them in the ground, add a thick layer of mulch around the base to protect the tubers. If the dahlias are in pots, or you don't want to risk leaving them in the ground because of freezing temperatures, then using a shovel, dig the tubers out - but be careful not to damage them. TOP TIPS FOR GROWING DAHLIAS How to keep Dahlia's growing for longer Use chicken feed and growmore to get them going - rose food is a good substitute. Grow from tubers not seed - you get more flowers. Water and deadhead daily. The new buds are solid to the touch - don't cut these off. Plant up the plugs in early April. In late April put overwintered tubers into compost, store in a greenhouse/windowsill/polytunnel, water once a day. Don't harden off, and when they get to 30cms - 50cms high - second week in June, get them in the ground. Plant randomly rather than colour coordinated - if you plant randomly the display is better. To encourage bees - grow the collarette-type of dahlia. Remove any soil from the tubers and let them dry out for a few days in a cool, dark, frost-free place. Make sure to check for any rotten or damaged areas and cut them off. Dividing dahlia tubers Dahlia tubers grow bigger each year, and this presents a gardener with the opportunity to divide them and have more plants. To divide dahlia tubers, using a clean, sharp knife or saw, cut them apart. Note - this should be done in late autumn or early spring only. 2 Lidl is offering a great price on the flowering plant Credit: Alamy Lidl shoppers can pick up gorgeous flowering plants that will brighten your outdoor space from late spring all the way through to autumn, meaning you'll get plenty of bang for your buck. The bargain superstore is also stocking large perennials for just £4.99, and Hibiscus plants for only £6.99, which will add colour and height to any patio or garden display. Lidl customers can add a "whimsical" touch to their flowerbeds for just £3. And for those looking to spruce up their indoor space, Lidl also has a fresh selection of houseplants and stylish ceramic pots in-store now.

Aldi's luxury men's fragrance for Father's Day is £137 cheaper than Burberry classic

Treat dad to a trio of luxury fragrances that cost just £6.99 a bottle. We're getting closer to Father's Day and some of us might be struggling for gift inspiration. Let's face it, dad's can often be difficult to buy for. A sure fire gift for any guy, no matter his age, is a luxury fragrance that he can use on special occasions. While they can often be pricey, Aldi has come to the rescue with its latest Specialbuys. ‌ Ahead of Sunday, June 15, the budget supermarket chain has said that its trio of men's fragrances are "back by popular demand". Although, as is the case with all middle aisle icons, they won't be around for long. ‌ Retailing at just £6.99 for each 100ml bottle, these fragrances for him offer a more budget-friendly take on designer brands, saving up to £130 compared to Burberry, Givenchy and Hugo Boss. The biggest saving can be found on the Lacura Iconic Man Eau de Parfum that has been described as offering a "bold and refined essence", with notes of pine, olibanum, benzoin, incense and a ground base note of cedar for depth and sophistication. This luxurious budget-friendly scent is said to be similar to Burberry's Hero Parfum, which comes in at a staggering £144 for the same 100ml bottle size, making Aldi's a whopping £137 cheaper. If dad prefers something with a herby touch, then there's the Lacura Ambition Eau de Parfum that "redefines modern masculinity", offering notes of cardamom, sage and French Narcissus that has been mixed with Madagascan vetiver, warm vanilla, and earthy cedar. ‌ As another 'dupe', Ambition has been compared to Givenchy's Gentleman Society, a deep, woody scent that would set shoppers back £107 for 100mls, making it over £100 more expensive than Aldi's version. Last, but certainly not least, the trio is finished up with "refreshing" and "invigorating" Lacura Island Oasis Eau de Parfum that will transport dad to an island escape thanks to aroma of sea salt, ripe coconut, lemon essence, cashmere wood and sandalwood. ‌ It offers another affordable option for bargain hunters, as it is said to provide a similar scent to the Hugo Boss Bottled Pacific For Him that comes in at £40 for 100ml, a £33 difference from Aldi's bottle. Aldi's trio of luxury fragrances for men is not the only gift that shoppers can buy for dad ahead of Father's Day, as the German discounter also recently brought back its viral Beer Dispenser for just £24.99. Suitable to use with beer can sizes 330ml, 350ml, 440ml and 500ml, it can be easily worked by using two AA batteries, while a three-year guarantee ensures shoppers are covered for any damages. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! A viral sensation when it first launched in 2024, the beer dispenser officially made its return to the Specialbuys aisle on Sunday, June 1, alongside the Drew & Cole Sandwich Maker, also £24.99. Whether you want to make dad breakfast in bed, or if he is a bit of a foodie himself, this gadget allows shoppers to create the perfect muffin-style sandwiches from home, reducing the need for multiple dishes that need washing up. ‌ Meanwhile, for any last minute gifts, the supermarket has also just announced the launch of its Father's Day 'SOS Service', with shoppers able to be in with the chance of winning a last minute gift box by signing up here. As for the trio of men's luxury fragrances, they are available to buy in Aldi stores nationwide for £6.99. Remember, stock availability may differ in each store.
