Noughties pop star looks unrecognisable as he performs in the street 18 years after soaring to fame with huge hit single
Noughties pop star Just Jack looked almost unrecognisable as he took to the streets of London for a performance last week.
The singer, 49, soared to fame back in 2007 thanks to his hugely successful song Starz In Their Eyes, which reached number two in the UK singles chart.
And Just Jack, real name Jack Christopher Allsopp, left both fans and passersby thrilled as he belted out the track alongside an acoustic guitarist outside a McDonalds in King's Cross.
Dressed casually in a black bomber jacket and jeans, Jack looked at ease as he performed the number alongside DJ AG on the decks.
DJ AG, whose real name is Ashley Gordon, regularly showcases the talents of artists old and new with London street performances, with Jessie J recently joining him for a show.
Just Jack's performance was shared to DJ AG's TikTok and fans soon took to the comments, stunned by his rare appearance.
They penned: 'where has he been, thought he was gonna be huge.'
'Always wondered what happened to him.'
'Omg Just Jack, can't believe I missed him.'
'Just jack still kills it. smiley loop is a banger.'
'Oh how nostalgic, Absolutely loved him & this song!'
However, some were a little critical of his vocals, writing: 'Jeeze unless I am tone deaf, it's time to hang up the mic.'
'Sounds proper out of tune at the start but fair play. Not sure why JJ didn't get real big. Had some interesting tunes. Used to love writers block.'
Just Jack released his first album, The Outer Marker, in 2002, however it wasn't until five years later that he found fame with his song Starz In Their Eyes.

He gained popularity with the track thanks to TV appearances on Latter... With Jools Holland and The Friday Night Project, with the track reaching number two.
The song was the lead single from his album Overtones, which spawned the singles Writer's Block, Glory Day and No Time.
However, Jack was unable to emulate the chart success of Starz In Their Eyes, with his closest shot being his 2009 track The Day I Died, which peaked at number 11.
His career saw him taking to the stage at Glastonbury Festival, V Festival and T4 on the Beach, a stark contrast to the much smaller crowd he attracted at King's Cross last week.
Despite having a much quieter career these days, he previously revealed that he's pleased with how things turned out.
Speaking to LadBible in 2023, he shared: 'I never tried to make a big radio hit. I never really wanted to be like a pop star. It was a strange time, it was a stressful time.
'I ended up being in a lot of environments that I wasn't particularly comfortable in. I was grateful for the radio plays and stuff like that, but I never felt at home with pop people. That's never how I saw myself.
'I've always been a bit of a control freak. I think being in that world where you have managers and record labels and all these people around you pulling you in lots of different directions and things not always going as planned, there are so many things that you don't really have control over.'
Jack noted that he now has full control over his whole career and despite it being hard work, he 'couldn't be happier'.

And not only have people said they 'wouldn't have paid' for the cake, but others suggested it looked like it had been made by a child. Posting on social media, Alexandra gave her followers a close-up look at the glamorous cake she had requested, as she wrote: 'What I ordered…' Alexandra had asked for a pink heart-shaped cake, with a bold black font that read 'That Girl Since '03'. The cake she had in mind featured incredibly neat piping around the edges and even had a glitter spray on it. But moments later, Alexandra shared a snap of what she actually got, which unfortunately looked nothing like she had hoped. While the cake was in fact pink, the black text was instead yellow and nowhere near as stylish. Not only this, but the cake itself wasn't the same heart shape Alexandra had asked for. And if that wasn't bad enough, the top of the cake featured a rogue blue heart, as well as a random splodge of blue icing, which appeared to be a mistake. Clearly gutted with her birthday cake, alongside a crying and broken heart emoji, Alexandra sobbed: 'It's so ugly omg.' I DIY-ed a 'professional' level kids' birthday cake for less than £25 using Amazon & eBay buys - I didn't bake a thing The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @alexandratobie_, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has amassed 82,100 views. Posh puts on a brave face as she shares message with fans amid family feud
With Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz continuing to distance themselves from the close-knit family, cryptic social media posts have cemented concerns of a feud Singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham has put on a brave face in her latest Instagram video, but the mother-of-four looks like she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders amid her estrangement from son Brooklyn. Victoria, 51, has shared a clip of herself applying make up to promote her Victoria Beckham Beauty range. The Spice Girls star could be seen with a white towel wrapped around her hair, wearing a personalised silky robe while she talked into the camera. With dewy skin and her usual perfect make up, she described her new summer look to her 32.9 million followers, giving a tutorial on how to use her Satin Kajal Liner in Terracotta. Fashion icon Victoria admitted she "spent a lot of time obsessing" over the colours in her make up range, telling fans about how different her products are to other things on the market. But she seemed more downbeat than usual in the clip, with her concern over her son's relationship with his family likely to be laying heavy on her. The family's fall-out with eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, has caused speculation among fans that a feud has emerged. Various cryptic videos have been posted on both sides of the rift, while Brooklyn completely missed out on his dad David 's 50th birthday celebrations - making him the only member of the family not to attend. A recent interview with Glamour's German magazine saw Brooklyn and Nicola open up on their relationship and the pressures fame has put on them. When asked about how he protects his relationship in the spotlight, Brooklyn said: "Ignore the noise. Keep your head down, work hard, be kind. People are always going to talk. What matters is that we're happy together." Nicola added: "It's not always easy. On TikTok there are always random stories popping up about us. When I see fake news, my instinct is to shut it down. But it's not worth it. I just scroll past and move on." Nicola, who is the daughter of American billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz, married Brooklyn, Victoria and David Beckham's eldest son, in 2022. The interview seemed to show Nicola and Brooklyn distancing themselves from his close-knit family. When a customer asked about his Cloud23 hot sauce brand's name, a member of his team explained: "The 23 included in our brand is a warm nod to Brooklyn's father, David Beckham, who wore number 23 while playing for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, inspired by NBA legend Michael Jordan." But in Brooklyn's interview in April with Glamour, he offered up a new meaning: "The 23 stands for our engagement date and my age back then." Fresh images of Brooklyn also show that his tribute to Victoria, a tattoo reading: "Mama's boy," has been covered up. In an Instagram video shared in May, Brooklyn appeared to clearly pledge allegiance to Nicola. Showing him take his wife for an early morning motorbike ride, he wrote: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby." Less than a day after Brooklyn's pointed statement, his brother Cruz Beckham, 20 shared what seemed to be a response. He posted a clip of one of his mum Victoria's songs from her solo self-titled album, Every Part Of Me, writing simply: "Listen." The lyrics read: "I think you should know that people gonna come and go. Be assured of this one thing, I will still remain. I know that there will come a day when you have to go away. But you have no reason to fear, I promise I'll be here if someone ever breaks your heart. "And you feel your world is torn apart. My love for you will bring you through hard times. I'll help you be strong." The song poignantly ends: "I'll always love you so... You'll always be my baby."

Dog owners are just finding out what it means when pooch sleeps on your pillow
A common sight in many households, dogs sleeping on pillows may be more than just a comfort-seeking habit, according to a viral TikTok that has left viewers feeling quite emotional Our furry friends certainly love a good rest, with dogs frequently found lounging on pillows – a sight many pet owners know all too well. However, this behaviour isn't solely about seeking comfort; the underlying reason is heartwarmingly sweet. You may assume your pooch curls up on cushions just for a cosy nook, but that's not the whole story. The true reason dogs cuddle into pillows is incredibly touching and is bound to tug at the heartstrings of any dog enthusiast. A TikTok video by @schmools captured this sentiment perfectly, leaving its audience quite moved. The caption stated: "I'll never be the same after reading that dogs sleep on pillows to be comforted by the smell of their owners." This narrative may seem like it's straight out of a charming storybook, yet there's actual substance behind it. Specialists assert that canines are attracted to pillows not merely for the plush, raised slumber they afford, but also because the cushions carry the owner's scent, providing comforting familiarity. In snuggling with these pillows, dogs gain a sense of closeness, enhancing their feeling of security and mimicking the sleeping habits of their human companions. Why do dogs sleep on pillows? Mostly, it's the lingering fragrance of their humans on the pillows that provides a consoling essence, soothing any worries they might have and solidifying their bond with the members of their human pack. Pets often imitate their owners' sleeping habits, including the use of pillows, especially when they see humans doing the same. Canines may snuggle up on pillows to feel near and secure with their owners, which helps to build a stronger connection. Observing your pooch slumbering on a pillow can be quite endearing and is usually a sign they crave closeness and comfort. Since the footage surfaced on TikTok, it has attracted a myriad of comments from charmed viewers who are touched by the behaviour. One viewer on TikTok said: "My dog does this with my dressing gown." A different user admitted: "My cat has just started doing this." Another person disclosed: "We live in a basement flat, and our bedroom is down by the bottom of the outdoor stairs. When we walk down the stairs, we see our boy on our pillows looking out for us." A further comment humorously alluded to the messy consequences, saying: "You should see my pillows after mine have gotten comfortable." Adding to the chatter, another individual remarked: "Mine sleeps in bed with me snuggled in." The overall sentiment amongst viewers was that it's a delightful trait, indicative of pets' profound affection for their human friends – and their cushions. It seems that pets not only cherish their human partners but their pillows as well.
