About the Coquille Indian Tribe
The Coquille Indian Tribe flourished in Oregon's southwestern corner for thousands of years, cherishing the bountiful forests, rivers and beaches of a homeland encompassing more than 750,000 acres. In 1954, Congress declared the Coquille Tribe 'terminated.' 35 years later the Tribe was formally restored to federal recognition in 1989. Today the Tribe numbers more than 1,100 members and it has regained more than 10,000 acres of ancestral homeland, proudly managing the bulk of it as sustainable forest. The Tribe provides education assistance, health care, elder services and (where needed) housing assistance to its people, while contributing substantially to the surrounding community's economy. Its various enterprises employ approximately 800 people, and its community fund is the region's leading local source of charitable grants.

The Fed's interest rate hikes throughout 2022 and 2023 have successfully cooled post-pandemic inflation, bringing it closer to the 2% target. Inflationary pressures have eased without tipping the economy into a recession, suggesting a soft landing. This stability, paired with recent rate cuts (0.5% in September 2024 and 0.25% in November 2024), fueled a strong year for the stock market in 2024. The markets surged further after Donald Trump's presidential victory in November, with major indices reaching record highs in the days following the election. Still, questions remain about the direction of economic policy, as potential tariffs and corporate tax changes add uncertainty for 2025. Want to invest in winners with rock-solid fundamentals? US stock futures little changed as investors eye fresh inflation data and more trade news

US stock futures little changed as investors eye fresh inflation data and more trade news Show Caption Hide Caption What is 'TACO trade,' a new phrase angering President Trump? 'TACO trade' is a jab at President Donald Trump's propensity to impose or threaten tariffs and later back off. U.S. stock futures are little changed as investors await fresh inflation data and any new trade news. The Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge, the personal consumption expenditures index (PCE), personal income and spending data are due before the bell. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones expect PCE to rise 2.2% year over year. Core PCE, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, is expected to rise 2.6% for the year. At 7:39 a.m. ET, futures linked to the blue-chip Dow fell 0.03%; while the broad S&P 500 lost 0.08% and tech-laden Nasdaq shed 0.06%. After an appeals court let President Donald Trump's tariffs stand while the White House gets through the appeals process, investors are still waiting for the final say. Some say the case could end up decided by the Supreme Court. Additionally, some analysts say the court fight over tariffs may spur Trump to re-escalate tariff talk. "Given Trump's public ire against previous court rulings and the press questions on May 28 around the 'TACO' narrative emerging in the media (Trump Always Chickens Out), we would not be surprised to see a meaningful tariff escalation/response from the White House sooner rather than later," wrote Chris Krueger at TD Cowen in a note. Trump is already looking at ways to implement tariffs while the case makes its way through the appeals process, the Wall Street Journal said. The administration is considering using a provision of the Trade Act of 1974 to implement tariffs of up to 15% for 150 days, it said. Further uncertainty about tariffs came from Treasury Secretary Bessent, who said in a Fox News interview that U.S.-China trade talks 'are a bit stalled." Investors are hoping a real trade deal, not just a pause, would emerge with China after surprisingly productive talks in Switzerland earlier in the month. Still, all three major indexes are on pace for gains for the week and the month. Corporate news Gap sees second-quarter revenues below Street forecasts. Discount bulk retailer Costco's quarterly results topped expetations. Dell's sales in the first three months topped analysts' forecasts and raised its full-year guidance. Marvell Technology swung to a profit, fueled by strong demand for artificial intelligence. American Eagle Outfitters swung to a loss in the first three months. Zscakler reported higher third-quarter revenue and slightly increased its full-year sales guidance. Ulta boosted its full-year outlook and posted higher-than-expected first-quarter sales. British American Tobacco sells $1.5 billion stake in India's ITC via block deal

By Scott Murdoch (Reuters) -British American Tobacco has sold a $1.5 billion stake in Indian consumer goods company ITC at 413 Indian rupees per share, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters. The company sold 313 million shares in ITC, representing 2.5% of ITC, according to the term sheet. This final amount exceeded its initial plan to sell up to 290 million shares in the deal, valued at approximately $1.4 billion. The final sale price represented a 4.8% discount to ITC's closing price of 433.90 rupees on Tuesday. Shares of ITC dropped nearly 3% to 421.70 rupees on Wednesday. The stock was the top loser on both Nifty 50 and the FMCG index. BAT will remain ITC's largest shareholder after the deal, according to LSEG data. Goldman Sachs and Citigroup led the deal, the term sheet showed. The deal is the second major block trade in India this week after IndiGo co-founder Rakesh Gangwal sold a 5.7% stake in the low-cost carrier worth $1.36 billion. BAT said it would increase its 2025 1.1 billion pounds ($1.49 billion) share buyback programme by 200 million pounds as a result of the deal, which is not expected to have any other impact on its annual outlook. The London-listed cigarette maker had last year sold 436.9 million shares, or roughly 3.5% of ITC's outstanding shares, for about $2 billion in what was India's third-largest block deal ever. The British firm in February forecast 1% growth in its annual revenue, citing tax headwinds in key markets such as Bangladesh and Australia. ($1 = 0.7401 pounds) Sign in to access your portfolio
