Two PSG stars receive rare 10/10 rating from L'Equipe following dominant Champions League triumph... but an Inter Milan player gets a ONE after enduring nightmare evening
Two PSG stars were handed a perfect 10/10 rating by L'Equipe following their side's Champions League triumph over Inter Milan on Saturday night.
The Ligue 1 giants were looking to win their first ever European Cup and did so in some style as they thrashed Inter 5-0 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
L'Equipe are notorious for being particularly brutal with their ratings, reserving the highest marks for truly exceptional performances, but even they could hardly find fault with PSG's display in the final.
Desire Doue received a 10 after scoring twice and providing an assist before he was substituted in the second half. L'Equipe described his performance as simply 'stunning' as the teenager lit up the biggest stage.
He may feel he was a little hard done by to not get the chance to complete his hat-trick when he was taken off, but L'Equipe had no issue with Luis Enrique's management as they also gave the PSG boss a perfect 10.
They hailed the Spaniard for picking Doue over Bradley Barcola on the right wing - a call that paid off handsomely - and described his coaching performance as a 'total success'.
It was an emotional evening for Enrique as he paid tribute to his late daughter, Xana, after the match by wearing a T-shirt depicting her placing a PSG flag into the pitch, just like she had done with the Barcelona flag a decade earlier when Enrique won the Champions League with the Catalan giants in 2015.
No PSG player received a mark below seven, such was their dominance, with Ballon d'Or contender Ousmane Dembele getting an eight.
He was joined on the same mark by midfield trio Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz, plus defenders Achraf Hakimi and Pacho.
Hakimi opened the scoring on the night, his fourth goal of PSG's European campaign, but refused to celebrate against his former club.
The ratings did not make such pretty reading for Inter's players, though, after a nightmare evening for Simone Inzaghi's men.
Left wing-back Federico Dimarco received only a 1/10 after playing Inter's forwards onside for the first goal, and then deflecting Doue's shot into his own net for PSG's second.
He was replaced in the early stages of the second half with L'Equipe branding his showing 'a shipwreck'.
Only three of his team-mates were marked above a two - Benjamin Pavard (4), Alessandro Bastoni (3) and Marcus Thuram (4).
Inzaghi was not spared criticism either as he received a two, with L'Equipe arguing that he may have shown too much emotion in the build-up to the game, leading to his players failing to keep their composure on the pitch.
The Italian manager has been linked with a summer switch to Saudi Arabia, and L'Equipe deemed potentially his final match on the Inter bench to be a 'fiasco' as the Serie A giants were completely humiliated.

Manchester United handed PSR boost after confirming major cut to wage bill
Manchester United cut their wage bill by £20m for the third quarter of the financial year which they believe will help them pass Financial Fair Play and fund Ruben Amorim 's summer spending spree. Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe 's cost-cutting meant more than 250 staff lost their jobs – with a further 200 redundancies to follow – as United paid staff £71.2m for the first three months of 2025, down from over £91m a year earlier. United's salaries also reflected the departures of Marcus Rashford, one of the club's top earners, who was loaned to Aston Villa and Antony, who was borrowed by Real Betis, and Tyrell Malacia, who went to PSV Eindhoven, as well as the reality they were not paying Champions League bonuses to players because they were in the Europa League. United, who had little leeway within PSR regulations in the past, have begun their summer business by agreeing a £62.5m deal with Wolves for Matheus Cunha and making an initial bid of £45m for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, in moves that could reshape their front line. The club believe their attempts to reduce their costs and create a more sustainable financial structure are starting to reap rewards and will allow for investment in the squad. United recorded a net profit of £0.7m for the financial quarter – compared to a loss of £66.2m for the corresponding period last year - and an operating loss of £2.7m as their commercial, matchday and broadcast revenue all rose. However, it came in a season when United went on to record their lowest finish in half a century and fail to qualify for Europe and chief executive Omar Berrada said they expect to do considerably better next year. Berrada said: 'We were proud to reach the final of the Europa League, but ultimately, we were disappointed to finish as runner-up in Bilbao. We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season.' United project their revenue for the year to be nearer £670m than £660m. Their net debt remains unchanged at $650m. United also owed £212m with a revolving credit facility, taking their overall debt over £700m.

David Beckham set to be awarded a knighthood in King's Birthday Honours
Former England football captain David Beckham is to be awarded a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours, ITV News understands. The full list is due to be released next week and Beckham, who made 115 appearances for his country, is expected to be on it. Beckham has undertaken multiple charitable endeavours outside of football, including working with Unicef and the King's Foundation. He began his career at Manchester United, winning the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies in 1999. He then moved to Real Madrid in 2003 where his global stardom hit new heights. He also played for LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain in a wide ranging career. Beckham was awarded an OBE in 2003 and has long been touted as a recipient of a knighthood. Beckham played a key role in securing the Olympic Games for London in 2012 and speculation that Beckham was in line for a knighthood grew after he announced his retirement from football in 2013. In 2014 it was reported that Beckham was on the verge of receiving a knighthood but HM Revenue and Customs placed a red flag on his nomination due to his involvement in an alleged tax avoidance scheme. In 2017 a series of leaked emails appeared to show Beckham criticising the honours system and honours committee. Beckham said these emails were "hacked", "doctored" and "private". Beckham is a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef and launched the David Beckham Unicef fund in 2015. He joined the King's Foundation as an ambassador in 2024, working for the King's charity to further their education programme. If the knighthood goes through Beckham would take on the title of Sir and his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham - who herself already holds an OBE - would become Lady Beckham.

Swansea piecing together transfer 'puzzle'
Director of football Richard Montague says Swansea City are piecing together a transfer "puzzle" in their bid to strengthen for next have already agreed deals for winger Zeidane Inoussa and teenage striker Bobby Wales, while defender Ricardo Santos is poised to sign on a free and January recruit Melker Widell will arrive in there is plenty more work to do, with a left-sided centre-back and a defensive midfielder understood to be the club's leading priorities as things are also looking at attacking options – including Oli McBurnie – and remain interested in re-signing Lewis O' may also be further defensive additions depending on which players depart this summer, with Harry Darling's future still says Swansea have discussed a string of potential deals – and is "very confident" Alan Sheehan's new-look squad will be stronger than the one which finished last season. A move for Swansea old boy McBurnie, who is available on a free transfer following Las Palmas' relegation from La Liga, would be an eye-catching one, though much is likely to depend on whether fellow forwards Jerry Yates and Mykola Kuharevich come back into the fold in about McBurnie, who scored 26 goals in 62 appearances in his previous spell at Swansea, Montague said: "I think everybody knows about Oli and his qualities and his situation as well."He is one we have spoken about and will be a name on various lists that we have. He is clearly a very, very good player, but I'd be unwilling to say whether that's progressing or has progressed any further."In theory a lot of things are conceivable, but it depends on where you are not going to spend money elsewhere."Not necessarily talking about Oli McBurnie, but it's all a puzzle where you say how much do we value a particular player, what can he add to us, and how much of our budget should we allocate to any player?" Montague says "all options are on the table" regarding Yates, who impressed during a loan spell at Derby last season but is under contract at Swansea for at least one more year."We need to have proper conversations with him and his agent to discuss what is the best way forward for him. Nothing is decided yet," Montague situation is similar with Kuharevich, who was on loan at Hibernian in 2024-25, while goalkeeper Andy Fisher and midfielders Cameron Congreve and Joel Cotterill are also due back in Wales after loan spells away.O'Brien has gone in the opposite direction, returning to parent-club Nottingham Forest after thriving at Swansea having joined on loan in 26-year-old has expressed an interest in rejoining Swansea, but has a year to run on his contract at the City says there have been "good conversations with Forest" about the idea of O'Brien returning. "They were really good to deal with last season. They sent us a really nice message to thank us for how well Lewis did with us, which was great to receive," he added."The ball is a little bit in their court at the moment because of Lewis' contract situation. He is on a Premier League salary and there needs to be some give in some sense to make it work for us. But it's definitely an option that's still on the table."We are talking to Lewis and having good conversations with Forest. We would love to be able to do something. It's just timing and matching it all up with the financial realities."Swansea have been linked with a move for another midfielder, Lincoln City's Ethan Erhahon, and are thought to have tabled a bid earlier in the Montague has indicated Swansea will not be signing the 24-year-old, saying: "We have talked about so many players and quite a lot have got to the point where we have spoken to agents or clubs. There isn't anything concrete in that one." No interest in Franco yet - and no news on Fulton Montague, meanwhile, says there has been no interest in player-of-the-year Goncalo Franco so far this has been touted as a potential target for clubs in Europe on the back of a fine first season in Wales, but Montague said: "There is so much noise around this time of the year, which is understandable because people need things to write about."But until we have anything concrete, there is nothing for me to say about it. He has obviously had a brilliant season and we would love to keep him here, so let's hope that's what happens."Jay Fulton is another Swansea player who has been linked with a summer exit, with Plymouth Argyle mentioned as potential suitors for the long-serving Montague has suggested Sheehan's squad needs the experience of Fulton following the summer departures of old heads like Joe Allen, Kyle Naughton and Cyrus Christie."Jay did unbelievably well for us when he came into the team at the back end of the season - he gave us some great minutes and is an unbelievable character," he said."He is a senior player, which is probably lacking a bit in that age profile now with some of the key departures we had. He is an important player for us and there is no news about any offers or movement with Jay."
