Mega Millions jackpot claimed in NE Ohio
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) – In April, a lucky lottery player in northeast Ohio hit a Mega Millions jackpot worth $112,000,000. Now, it's pay day!
According to the Ohio Lottery, the lucky winner of the April 18, 2025, Mega Millions jackpot has claimed the prize in trust.

The winning ticket matched all five Mega Millions numbers and the Mega Ball to win the $112,000,000 jackpot. The prize winner had 180 days to claim the prize. They could choose the annuity prize paid over 30 years or take the cash option. According to the Ohio Lottery, the winner chose the cash.
'James S. Ausse, Esq. is trustee of The Ironwood Family Trust. The winner chose the cash option prize of $56,000,000,' said the Ohio Lottery in a press release. 'After mandatory state and federal tax totaling 28 percent, the trust will receive $40,320,000.'

The winning ticket was sold at Giant Eagle in South Euclid.
It was the first jackpot-winning ticket sold since the new Mega Millions game launched on April 5. According to lottery officials, the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are just 1 in 290,472,336.
Mega Millions is a national game sold in 45 states. Since joining Mega Millions, Ohio has had 21 jackpot winners.
Drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday.
