The benefit concert was hosted by Alan Cumming and celebrated Kander, who has written the scores for numerous musicals including 'Cabaret,' 'Chicago' and 'Kiss of the Spider Woman,' which is being remade into an upcoming film starring Lopez.
In January, Lopez attended the Sundance Film Festival to premiere 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' directed by Bill Condon.
The film stars 'Andor' actor Diego Luna as a political prisoner during Argentina's civil war whose cellmate (played by newcomer Tonatiuh Elizarraraz) recounts an old movie starring his favorite classic screen actress, Ingrid Luna (Lopez).

Lopez was brought to tears by a standing ovation from the audience during a screening of the film at Park City's Eccles Theatre.
'I've been waiting for this moment my whole life,' the superstar told the crowd, per Variety. 'The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and ['West Side Story'] would come on once a year. I was mesmerized and was like, 'That's what I want to do.''

Lopez also produced the musical drama alongside her ex-husband Ben Affleck, 52. The actors separated in April 2024, fours months before Lopez filed for divorce after two years of marriage.

'I know I'm a good person. I know I'm a good mom. I know who my friends are. I know my friends know who I am, my mom, my dad, all that stuff,' she said. 'If you hope to have a long career, you have to learn how to deal with that part of the business. Some people are going to love you and some are not going to understand you, and some people just want to hate you to hate you, and none of that really matters.'
Despite going their separate ways, Lopez and Affleck have stayed close to one another's combined five children.

Taylor Swift ‘ignoring' Blake Lively's ‘groveling' texts after being dragged into Justin Baldoni battle: report

Taylor Swift is ready for a cruel summer. The Grammy winner, 35, is reportedly 'done' with Blake Lively after being dragged into the actress' ongoing legal feud with Justin Baldoni, so much so that she's allegedly 'ignoring' all calls, texts, and emails from her former bestie. 'Even though Taylor has totally cut ties with her, Blake hasn't with Taylor,' a source told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, June 3. 11 Taylor Swift is allegedly 'ignoring' all of Blake Lively's 'groveling' texts, calls and emails. Lively's attempts to contact Swift have reportedly gone unanswered. 'She's been reaching out to her with texts, voicemails and even emails begging to mend what they once had. Blake isn't giving up on trying to get her friendship with Taylor back on track,' the insider continued. 'Taylor hasn't responded to any of Blake's pleas. She's ignored all her groveling excuses. The missives explain there must be some misunderstanding on Taylor's part and that she would never do anything to harm their ten years of closeness and personal secrets,' they alleged. The source further claimed that Swift is icing out her friend of ten years because she feels 'betrayed' and 'exploited' by Lively, 37. 'Taylor obviously still means so much to Blake, but Taylor's totally done with her and as of right now, no requests will mend their bond as far as she's concerned,' the insider shared. 11 Swift was subpoenaed as a witness by Baldoni's legal team last month. GC Images 11 However, the subpoena has since been dropped. Nancy Rivera / 11 Swift is godmother to several of Blake Lively's kids. Getty Images The Post reached out to Swift's team for comment. Swift allegedly pressed pause on her friendship with Lively in May being subpoenaed as a witness by Baldoni's legal team in the never-ending 'It Ends With Us' legal nightmare. 'Their friendship has halted,' an insider told People on Thursday, May 15, adding, 'Taylor wants no part in this drama.' 11 It was already alleged that their friendship was 'fractured.' GC Images 11 Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment. GC Images However, in a shocking move by Baldoni's legal team, they dropped the subpoena on May 22 after a representative for Swift denied she had any involvement in the drama. 'Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see 'It Ends With Us' until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,' the rep told The Post in response to the original subpoena. The 'Bad Blood' singer, who is godmother to several of Lively's kids with Ryan Reynolds, was mentioned in Baldoni's $400 million countersuit against the actress and her famous husband, in which he accused Blake of calling Taylor and Reynolds her 'dragons' and referring to herself as Khaleesi from 'Game of Thrones' in an alleged text conversation. 11 She allegedly called Swift one of her 'dragons' following a pivotal meeting with Justin Baldoni. BACKGRID 11 Justin Baldoni countersued Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million. GC Images In the lawsuit, Baldoni also alleged Swift was present for a pivotal meeting he had with Lively at the NYC penthouse she shares with Reynolds about rewriting the infamous 'It Ends With Us' rooftop scene. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, later issued a letter to Judge Lew J. Liman, claiming he was told by an anonymous source that Lively's lead lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, allegedly threatened to release Swift's text messages if the 'You Need to Calm Down' hitmaker didn't publicly support Blake. Gottlieb denied the allegations — and the judge granted Lively's motion to strike the letter, calling Freedman's filing 'improper' and 'irrelevant' in the order obtained by The Post. 11 His attorney claimed Lively's lead lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, allegedly threatened to release Swift's text messages if the singer didn't publicly support Blake. Jackson Lee for Page Six 'It took the court less than 24 hours to see through Mr. Freedman's irrelevant, improper and inflammatory accusations, strike them, remove them from the court and warn Mr. Freedman that further misconduct may be met with sanctions,' a spokesperson for Lively said at the time. The 'Another Simple Favor' actress has denied all the allegations against her. Lively kicked off the legal feud when she sued Baldoni in December 2024, claiming he sexually harassed her while filming 'It Ends With Us.' She also accused him of spearheading a smear campaign against her, as well as intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. 11 Blake Lively's attorney denied the accusations and the judge granted her motion to strike the letter. GC Images 11 Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively's trial kicks off in March 2026. GC Images He, too, denied the accusations. In an unpredicted move this week, Baldoni's attorneys informed the judge that Lively was trying to abandon her infliction of emotional distress claims against their client after they sought to obtain her medical records. Baldoni's legal team argued that Lively 'waived any doctor-patient privilege' when she claimed to have suffered 'physical and emotional injuries' because of the 'It Ends With Us' director. Judge Liman must now decide if the actress will be ordered to turn over the mental health information sought by the opposing counsel. Lively and Baldoni's legal trial is set for March 2026.

Gabby Thomas calls out ‘weirdo' heckler over ‘bragging' social media post

Olympic track and field gold medalist Gabby Thomas put a male spectator on blast after she said he yelled personal insults at her and followed her around at the Grand Slam Track meet in Philadelphia on Sunday. Thomas explained that she publicly called out the man because she saw him 'bragging' about heckling her on social media. 'I made Gabby lose by heckling her. And it made my parlay win,' the man wrote under the username 'Mr 100K a day' in response to a recap post by Thomas, who finished fourth in the 100-meter race at the Grand Slam Track meet, and second place in the 200-meter sprint on Sunday. 3 Gabby Thomas of the United States competes in the women's 200m on Day 1 of Grand Slam Track at Franklin Field in on May 31, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Getty Images The man included an image of a bet he supposedly made online and a snapshot of Thomas and the other runners at the starting line at Franklin Field. 'This grown man followed me around the track as I took pictures and signed autographs for fans (mostly children) shouting personal insults,' Thomas, 28, wrote in response. 'Anybody who enables him online is gross.' Thomas called the man 'a weirdo' while replying to fans. Thomas added that she 'wasn't even going to tweet about it but since he's bragging.' 'Honestly the heckling is tolerable, it's following me around the stadium that's wild,' she wrote in another post. The man denied Thomas' claims and called her a liar in a YouTube video posted Monday under the same username — adding that she tweeted about him 'for sympathy.' He also said he does not like Thomas and called her 'a Karen.' 3 Melissa Jefferson-Wooden (USA), left, defeats Gabby Thomas (USA) to win the women's 200m, 21.99 to 22.10, during the Grand Slam Track Philadelphia at Franklin Field on May 31, 2025. 'Gabby Thomas is scared I see it in her eyes,' the man yelled, before calling her a 'choke artist.' The man was also heard yelling, 'Melissa got married this year, got a Black husband, Gabby got a white guy,' referring to Thomas' fiancé, Spencer McManes, who is white. 3 Olympian Gabby Thomas and Spencer McManes are seen arriving to the Carolina Herrera fashion show during New York Fashion Week on September 9, 2024 in New York City. GC Images At one point, he said Thomas 'walked past me and she spoke to me and she said, 'Hey what're you doing here? You're just a heckler… She laughed, smiled and kept walking. That was the last time I saw Gabby.' Earlier this year, Thomas shared a PSA on TikTok and explained that she feared she was being stalked by a group of middle-aged men, who allegedly followed her to and from multiple cities in the United States recently. The U.S. sprinter made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in the magazine's 2025 issue in May.
