
Premier Energies commissions 1.4 GW TOPCon solar module facility in Telangana

Premier Energies Limited has announced the successful commissioning of a 1.4 GW Solar Photovoltaic Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) module manufacturing facility. The development comes through its wholly owned subsidiary, Premier Energies Global Environment Private Limited.
This new facility is located at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Maheshwaram, Telangana. It operates on leasehold premises managed by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC).
This commissioning follows an earlier announcement made on December 13, 2024, regarding the establishment of a 1 GW TOPCon module manufacturing unit. The upgraded capacity to 1.4 GW marks a significant expansion in Premier Energies' manufacturing capabilities in advanced solar technologies.
In the exchange filing, the company shared, 'With reference to the captioned subject and in continuation of our earlier intimation of establishing 1 GW Solar Photovoltaic TOPCon Modules Manufacturing facility was made dated 13th December 2024. We are pleased to inform you that Premier Energies Limited through its Wholly Owned subsidiary, Premier Energies Global Environment Private Limited has successfully commissioned enhanced capacity of 1.4 GW Solar Photovoltaic TOPCon Module manufacturing facility at EMC Maheeshwaram, Telangana on leasehold premises owned by TGIIC (Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation).'
The facility is part of the company's efforts to scale up production of high-efficiency solar modules for both domestic and international markets.

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), through its demerged Global Services Business vertical, has announced the signing of a significant agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). As per the scheme, STL's Global Services Business has been demerged into STL Networks Limited, effective from the close of business hours on March 31, 2025. Consequently, the agreement will be novated in favor of STL Networks Limited upon completion of the required formalities. The agreement marks a major step in the government's push to expand digital infrastructure across India's underserved regions. The middle-mile network will play a crucial role in connecting Gram Panchayats to the main internet backbone, thereby facilitating last-mile connectivity under the BharatNet initiative. Valued at ₹2,631.14 crores (inclusive of GST), the agreement includes a capital expenditure of ₹1,620.50 crores. Additionally, it covers operational expenditure for both the newly constructed network, estimated at ₹972.30 crores, and the existing network, valued at ₹38.33 crores. The project duration spans three years for construction, followed by a ten-year maintenance period. The maintenance component will be compensated at 5.5% of the capital expenditure annually for the first five years and 6.5% per annum for the subsequent five years. The contract has been awarded by BSNL, a domestic public sector undertaking, and outlines general contract conditions.
