KSN: Individuals Responsible For Jalur Gemilang Error In SPM Report Identified
PUTRAJAYA, April 29 (Bernama) -- The individuals responsible for the inaccurate display of Jalur Gemilang images in the recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Examination Results Analysis Report have been identified, said Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
He said that an investigation is currently underway, and appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the Public Service Department (PSD) Disciplinary Board's procedures.
He added that those involved have been identified and divided into two groups: those above and below Grade 48.
'Officers below Grade 48 will be managed by the Ministry of Education (MOE), while those above Grade 48 will face action from the PSD,' he told reporters after officiating the closing of the Southeast Asia Anti-Corruption Conference here today.
He further explained that the actions to be taken will be in accordance with the regulations outlined in the General Orders and the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations of 1993.
Earlier today, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that an internal investigation into the inaccurate display of the Jalur Gemilang in the SPM Examination Results Analysis Report was still underway.
She called for the cooperation of all parties, urging them to allow the investigation to proceed without interference.
On April 24, images of the Jalur Gemilang, inaccurately generated by artificial intelligence (AI), were displayed on pages 14 and 15 of the analysis report.
In response, the MOE issued an apology for the error, instructed that the printed analysis report be recalled, and initiated immediate corrective actions.

State govts get almost RM800mil in loans for water supply projects

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The federal government has allocated RM796.4 million in loans to state governments this year to finance water supply projects. Deputy prime minister Fadillah Yusof said these projects are among the government's initiatives to tackle the southwest monsoon, which is expected to bring dry weather and drought, reported Bernama. Fadillah, who is also the energy transition and water transformation minister, said 28 projects were being implemented under this initiative as of May. Twelve projects are being carried out in Sabah, five in Sarawak, three each in Pahang and Terengganu, two each in Kedah and Perlis, and one in Kelantan. 'These projects are at various stages of implementation and seven are expected to be completed this year,' he told reporters after attending an Aidiladha sacrificial event at Kampung Tupong Jaya in Kuching, Sarawak, today. Fadillah said his ministry is now focusing on addressing the issue of non-revenue water (NRW), which results from factors such as system inefficiencies, pipe leakages, and water theft. 'When pipe connections are poor, leakages occur, and there are also old pipes that are damaged. Overall, we estimate the country is losing about 40% of its treated water to NRW. We process the water, but 40% of it is lost. This incurs high costs. 'Therefore, our current focus is to find the best method to reassess the piping system and replace damaged pipes.'
