Asheville Regional Airport announces restaurants, retail for new concourse

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Asheville Regional Airport announced new stores and restaurants which will open this summer as the first phase of the airport's new terminal opens.
The new north concourse will include two restaurants, a retail outlet, and two temporary concessions spaces.
National food brands Jimmy John's and Tropical Smoothie Cafe will have spots in the seven-gate north concourse.
In addition, a retail store called The Goods@AVL will offer travelers grab-and-go options along with regional apparel and gifts, snacks, and other local products.
Two temporary concessions will also open in the north concourse, Costa Coffee and Aletitude.
Costa Coffee will feature to-go coffee and local baked goods while Aletitude will have beer, wine, cocktails, and grab-and-go snacks.
The temporary locations will operate until phase two of the new airport terminal opens in 2027.
Phase two will feature five new retail and restaurant locations, including Appalachian Exchange, Smoky Grounds, Beercode Kitchen & Bar, Vino Volo, and travel@ease and Costa Coffee.
Appalachian Exchange will offer travel essentials along with other local products.
Smoky Grounds will be a coffee shop with grab-and-go items and a rotating selection of coffee by local roasters.
Beercode Kitchen & Bar will be a sit-down casual restaurant with a gastropub-style menu with a variety of craft beers from local brewers.
Vino Volo is a wine bar which offers local and regional wines along with craft cocktails.
travel@ease and Costa Coffee will be located in the pre-security area of the new terminal with 24/7 vending options for fresh snacks and self-serve coffee.
Phase two of the terminal is set to open by 2027.
Construction on the new $400 million terminal began in 2023 as part of the AVL Forward project.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – The first section of the new terminal at Asheville Regional Airport will open Wednesday. Ticket counters at the new north concourse will open at 4 a.m. Wednesday as travelers get their first chance to see AVL's new terminal in action. Passengers will continue to use the legacy terminal for two weeks until the rest of the new North Concourse opens on June 25, bringing with it a new TSA Security Checkpoint, new concessions, and some boarding gates. In April, the airport announced that the new concourse would include a Jimmy John's, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, a retail store, and two temporary concessions. All seven gates at the new North Concourse will open by the end of July. Asheville Regional Airport broke ground in August 2023 on a new $400 million passenger terminal as part of the AVL Forward project. Bolton School lands itself a new TV role-this time for a new coffee chain commercial
Cool beans! Bolton School has another starring role on TV - this time in the new Costa Coffee advert. The beautiful facade of the building and the interior of the historic school is used to depict a university in the commercial for the popular coffee chain. It is the latest role for the Chorley New Road school, which has been a go to location for production teams in recent years, and featured on some of the biggest TV dramas. In the new advertisement entitled 'Made with Heart", filming takes place outside and inside of the school, one of the best in the country. The minute long video follows the journey of a young girl, who is beginning life at university and finds solace and friendship in a Costa Coffee shop. A spokesperson for Bolton School said: 'We know that filming in iconic Bolton locations is great for the town in terms of civic pride and the local economy and we are pleased that the beautiful buildings at our school, both old and new, are attractive to a wide range of film makers. This is not the first time the school has hit the silver screen. Bolton School is a popular filming location in Bolton, frequently used as a backdrop for various television dramas and films. The money earned from filming is used to support the school's bursary scheme, enabling bright students from all backgrounds to attend. Currently one in five students are on the bursary fund scheme but the school would like this to be one in three. In recent years, the school has provided the backdrop for Netflix's hit TV series, Fool Me Once, BBC's teenage detective drama, Get Even and BBC one drama starring Michelle Keegan, Our Girl. Elsewhere in Bolton, Le Mans Crescent is famous for Peaky Blinders, Alma's Not Normal, It's A Sin, Ridley and Nolly, which featured Hollywood star Helena Bonham Carter. And Bolton Town Hall became a winter backdrop for A Gentleman in Moscow with A-lister Ewan McGregor coming to town.

Costa Coffee launches drive-through store in Winsford, UK
British coffee chain Costa Coffee has expanded its presence in the UK with the opening of a new drive-through store at Winsford Gateway, Cheshire. The outlet offers indoor and outdoor seating. Along with beverages, the menu includes a selection of freshly baked pastries. The store is operational from 5:30am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 9pm on Sundays, and its customers include commuters and local workers. It employs ten local baristas.
