Shreveport-Bossier Maker Faire to host National Power Racing Series
SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The National Power Racing Series will be featured at the Shreveport-Bossier Maker Faire.
The Power Racing Series organizes races for tiny DIY electric ride-on racing machines. Participants will be challenged to build electric vehicles for under $600. They will need to manage their budget wisely to create a fast and competitive car. This initiative encourages adults and young people to learn about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and trade skills.
The Power Racing Series is a valuable addition to the Maker Faire, which aims to promote STEAM programming in North Louisiana. The racing series will take place during the Shreveport-Bossier Maker Faire on April 12. Admission into the faire is free when entering the Sci-Port Discovery Center. Add-on activities like soldering workshops, or custom creations can be purchased separately from vendors.
The Barksdale Air Show and STEM Zone will also be held on Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30 as part of the faire. The weekend-long event is expected to attract 200,000 visitors for the airshow.
