The death of a pastor in New River, Arizona, under bizarre circumstances has been ruled a homicide.
Pastor Bill Schonemann, 76, head of the New River Bible Chapel, was found dead in his own bed last Monday, April 28, with his arms spread wide and pinned to the wall, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. Foul play is suspected.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office officially ruled Schonemann's death a homicide, as police continue to investigate.

According to FOX 10, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) said there are "unique, specific circumstances to the case," and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Schonemann's neighbor, Mike Anders, was puzzled by the pastor's death.
"I mean, we locked our doors last night. It's just something that we are just not used to doing. Everybody is just, until we know what's going on, we don't know if it was a family member, or, we don't know what, who could do this to him," Anders told FOX 10.

Giants Rookie Cam Skattebo Accused of Causing Career-Ending Injury to College Teammate

Giants Rookie Cam Skattebo Accused of Causing Career-Ending Injury to College Teammate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The first obstacle of New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo's rookie season came away from the field. Advertisement While the Arizona State product prepares for his first NFL season, he has had to tend to a lawsuit stemming from an incident on a golf course. Skattebo is accused of causing a career-ending injury to college teammate Mattheos Katergaris. 'Skattebo further denies that there is 'any proper evidence' showing his conduct entitles Katergaris to 'any relief in any form whatsoever' from him, his attorney, Todd Rinner of the law firm Snell & Wilmer, wrote in an answer to the civil complaint filed on June 6,' Jason Wolf reported for the Arizona Republic. 'Katergaris sued the Arizona Board of Regents, the governing body that oversees the state's public universities, for more than $300,000 in May 2024, alleging that a teammate jumped up and down on the back of a golf cart that was already at maximum capacity, causing the back seat to break and Katergaris to fall and suffer a career-ending elbow injury.' The lawsuit alleges that Skattebo was aware of the safety limits of the golf cart and that by ignoring them, he contributed to the injury. Advertisement Katergaris was an offensive lineman for Arizona State. The incident occurred in July 2023, before Skattebo made his Sun Devils debut. 'He got a really bad laceration, essentially going all the way down to the bone in his elbow,' Katergaris' attorney, Neil Udulutch, said, via the Arizona Republic. 'And it essentially ruptured his distal triceps tendon 90% of the way, so he required surgery and months of physical therapy.' Skattebo denied the claims through his attorney. He is requesting that the case be dismissed. The next update in the case is set for February. Back in East Rutherford, Skattebo is hoping to prove himself with the Giants. He is projected to be Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s complement, offering elite physicality to match Tracy's big-play ability. His ability to pass protect could land him passing-down snaps, too, potentially encroaching on his partner's playing time. 2 campers found dead at Isle Royale National Park have been identified, officials say

Two campers found dead at Lake Superior's Isle Royale National Park have been identified, the National Park Service said Thursday. Officials said next of kin have been notified and that there is no known threat to the public. According to officials, at around 4 p.m. on June 8, two park rangers responded to a pair of separate reports of two people found dead at a campground near the Greenstone Ridge trail. The rangers hiked 11 miles overnight to the campground, arriving early Monday morning. When rangers arrived at the site, they found the bodies of two unidentified people. Due to the remote location of the campground within the park, a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft were used in the investigation. On Wednesday, the FBI confirmed it was assisting in an investigation. The FBI says it routinely assists in investigations if requested, but this does not mean it will open an investigation. "FBI policy prohibits the confirmation of the existence of investigations, the release of information on investigations and any public report on the closing on an investigation," the agency said in a statement. Officials have not released the causes of death. An investigation is ongoing.
