A man has been seriously injured in a machete attack at a car garage owned by a member of the Scottish Daniel crime clan
The incident at gangland figure Robert Daniel's car garage in East Kilbride on Monday is just the latest in an apparent escalation of a simmering gang war.
Images published by the Daily Record show police and an ambulance at the 50-year-old's accident repair shop as officers search through two vehicles parked outside.
The Daniel clan has been locked in a violent power battle with their deadly enemies, the Lyons gang, which has been fuelled by the Kinahan Cartel.
According to the Daily Record, the Daniel crime clan has also been targeted by Dubai-based gangster Ross 'Mr Big' McGill who has been waging war on them since March.
The feud spread to Glasgow when the Daniel mob became targets because of their close association with Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson who ripped Mr Big off in a £500k cocaine deal.

Ex-Rangers ultra McGill has reportedly offered £100,000 bounties on his top targets, a source told the Record.
One Daniel family boss, Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, only returned to Glasgow last week after fleeing Scotland when he was targeted by McGill's enforcers, who call themselves Tamo Junto (TMJ)
Earlier this month, the home of Bonzo's cousin Kelly 'Bo' Green, was attacked in the early hours of Tuesday, May 13.
Kelly (45), the daughter of late kingpin Jamie Daniel is the widow of crime gang enforcer Kevin 'the Gerbil' Carroll who was infamously shot dead in an Asda car park in Robroyston in 2010.
It has been reported that nobody was injured in the incident at the house on Drumchapel Road, however, images taken at the scene by Glasgow Live show black scorch marks on the property.
Gerbil was a main enforcer for Scotland's Daniel crime clan who have been locked in a bitter two-decade long feud with their rivals in the Lyons gang.
The Lyons crime gang have strong ties with the Kinahan Cartel that were forged on Spain's Costa Del Sol in the 2010s.

Before his violent death, the Gerbil had been involved in so-called alien abductions, where his crew used a blowtorch and boiling water to torture victims before stealing drugs, money and weapons from them.
An underworld source told the Daily Record that Kelly and Gerbil's youngest son was believed to have been in the house when it was torched.
'All the Daniel family remain priority targets despite their attempt to broker a peace deal at the weekend,' this source said. 'But this particular attack will have made a lot of people smile all across Scotland.
"Gerbil was a bully and a thief and made so many enemies so a lot of people will be happy to see this happen. Kelly isn't well liked either and has a horrible attitude, like the rest of them.'
Last month, it emerged how the Kinahan cartel was fuelling the deadly gangland war in Scotland's underworld.
Following a slew of firebombs and shootings in Edinburgh targeting Richardson's empire, sources told the Daily Record newspaper that the Kinahan cartel was linked to the attacks via their Scottish associates, including head of the Lyons crime family, Steven Lyons.
The 47-year-old, who lives in the United Arab Emirates, reportedly attended Daniel Kinahan's lavish Burj-al Arab Hotel wedding in 2021.
Kinahan and Lyons fell out in summer of 2001 when a large stash of Kinahan cocaine was stolen from a house in the Milton area of Glasgow and sold to the Lyons.
It was previously reported how Lyons, who is in debt to the Kinahans, was growing ever paranoid about his inner circle and made his cronies take lie detector tests.
The feud has been fuelled by the Kinahan cartel, led by Daniel Kinahan, it has been claimed
The 44-year-old hired a lie detection expert to conduct polygraph tests on gang members after a house linked to the Glasgow mobster was robbed of drugs worth £500,000.
Sources told The Sun Lyons is 'on edge' over a series of thefts and police busts that have left him racking up debts with the notorious Irish cartel.
In the wake of a series drugs raids, Lyons forced them to take lie detectors tests In a bid to weed out traitors.
The Lyons stash house was robbed of £500,000 of drugs in November just weeks after cops reportedly seized millions of pounds of drugs in Glasgow.
Six masked men had forced their way into the property in Moodiesburn, Lanarkshire, before making off with a huge cannabis haul.
In May 2022, Scottish MP Russell Findlay described how the Kinahan crime cartel, that had just been sanctioned by the US Government, was working in partnership with the feared Glasgow-based Lyons gang.
The former crime journalist revealed how the Kinahans were described as almost a "Scottish-Irish mob" as the connections were so strong between them.
In October 2022, senior crime buster Gerry McLean, claimed that dismantling the Kinahan cartel from the top would help reduce gangland activity in Scotland.
McLean, Regional Head of Investigations at the National Crime Agency, said that focusing on the Irish mob's leading figures would have a 'much greater impact' than targeting smaller groups associated with the Kinahans.

In her deposition, Ms Huang said that Zhihan was walking ahead of her on the Cliffs of Moher trail and she lost sight of him. READ MORE IN NEWS Speaking through an interpreter at the inquest in Kilrush, Co Clare, Ms Huang wiping away tears, asked: 'What exactly caused Zhihan to fall from the Cliffs?' Clare County Coroner, Isobel O'Dea told the distraught Ms Huang that the evidence of Ms Tourgon would help answer that question. In her deposition Ms Tourgon said that she was at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher with her husband and two children at around 1.45pm. She said that they were taking a selfie when she saw a young Asian boy, who was alone, come into view. Most read in Irish News She said: 'I saw him slipping in the puddle that appears in the photo that my husband sent to the police." Ms Tourgon said: 'His right foot slipped into the puddle with him trying to stop himself from falling with his left foot but his left foot ended up in the air.' She said: 'It was very quick - he found himself in an awkward position with his left foot in a void over the cliff and his right knee on the edge of the cliff.' Major search operation after young boy goes missing at Cliffs of Moher. Ms Tourgon said: 'His right knee eventually fell into the void over the cliff and he was trying to grasp the grass with his hands to pull himself up. He didn't shout and there was no noise.' She said that 'it is the only the few of us who saw him falling' and the Tourgons alerted the emergency services by phone. Speaking again through an interpreter, Ms Huang asked 'did he slip?' and in reply, Insp Helen Costello told her: 'It appears from the witness that he slipped into the void having stumbled in the puddle.' In her deposition, Ms Huang said that she started out from Nagle's car park in Liscannor to walk to the Cliffs of Moher with Zhihan and friends of hers. She said: 'My son walked very fast and was ahead of us by 50 metres' She said: 'As there was only one path I thought we would meet him along the way. "When I didn't I walked to the visitor centre and I checked the visitor centre." COASTGUARD OP When she couldn't find her son here, she walked back along the path to search for her son and after not finding him, she reported him missing. She said that she last saw Zhihan at 1pm that day. She said that Zhihan was a fluent English speaker and described the clothes that Zhihan was wearing that day including black shorts, Nike Air Jordans, an LA Lakers wristband and a kid's smart-watch. Sgt Claire McGuigan said that on the day, Ms Huang was able to provide a photo of Zhihan she had taken taken earlier on the Cliffs of Moher trail. He said that the Irish Coastguard had spotted a body floating in the water at the base of the Cliffs of Moher. Through the interpreter, the mother asked was the location the same spot where scenes from a Harry Potter movie were shot and Insp Costello said that they were not. Garda Collins said that a Zhihan's body would not be recovered from the sea for another five days and was recovered after fisherman, Matthew O'Halloran from Corofin, Co Clare spotted a body in the water between Doolin and the Aran Islands shortly after 10am on Sunday, July 28. 'INSTANTANEOUS' DEATH Mr O'Halloran alerted the Irish coastguard at Valentia and members of the Doolin unit of the Irish coastguard retrieved Zhihan's body from the waters and brought it ashore at Doolin. Ms O'Dea said that the post mortem found that Zhihan died from multiple traumatic injuries consistent with a fall from a height. Ms O'Dea said her verdict was one of 'accidental death'. She said: 'It is clear from evidence we heard that Zhihan slipped off the Cliffs rather than any other way. His death would have been very quick - instantaneous." Ms O'Dea told Ms HuangL 'I can't imagine how upsetting this is for you' and the two embraced as Ms Huang left the coroner's court in Kilrush. Ms O'Dea also extended her sympathies to Zhihan's father who was not present at the inquest. Addressing Ms Huang, Insp Costello said: 'The pain must be immeasurable for you all.' Ms Huang declined to comment on the record when approached for comment after the inquest. On August 22nd of last year, the Clare Local Development Company closed off large sections of part of the Cliffs of Moher trail and it remains closed off today due to continuing safety concerns. Robert Pether's family to hear of restrictions put on engineer next week

The family of Irish-based engineer Robert Pether has to wait until next Wednesday before being able to find out exactly what restrictions have been placed on him following his release from an Iraqi jail. The 50-year-old was released on bail on Thursday and is currently in accommodation in Iraq, organised by the Irish, Australian, and Egyptian embassies for himself and his Egyptian work colleague, Khalid Radwan. The men have been in prison in Iraq since April 7, 2021, after being arrested on fraud charges following a contractual dispute involving his employer over a new building for the Central Bank of Iraq. The Australian and his wife Desree had been living with their children in Elphin, Roscommon, prior to his arrest. They moved to Ireland in 2019. He and his colleague were arrested after being called to a meeting in Baghdad to discuss the project they had been working on. Desree told the Irish Examiner that legal fees have cost the family more than €100,000 since Robert's imprisonment, and she had to sell the family car 'so that we could eat'. She said her husband has missed many family milestones including their children's birthdays, their oldest son's graduation, and his own 50th birthday in April. Their 12-year-old daughter asked Santa every year to bring her father home She said the couple were 20 years married last October — a milestone they had planned to mark with a vow renewal ceremony. Desree says they are waiting to get information on what restrictions apply to his release. However, they cannot get this information until the Eid Al-Adha festival ends on Wednesday. Gut issue She said he needs to be brought back to Ireland as a matter of urgency because he is very ill with a gut issue. He has had no medical assessment since his release. While he was on a high after his release, he found it difficult to sleep on Thursday night, finding his new accommodation as 'too quiet' after his prison experience. Desree said the Irish Government has gone 'above and beyond' in Robert's case, especially as he is not an Irish citizen. On Friday, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said the fact that he is an Australian citizen is a complicating factor. However, he said: 'Both ourselves and the Australian government have been working together in terms of endeavouring to get him out.' He said the Irish Government has been making 'continuing efforts for quite a long number of years now' in Robert's case. Mr Martin said the current Iraqi foreign minister has been very helpful and he said he himself, as well as Tánaiste Simon Harris, have been in touch with him. Mr Martin added: "It is very distressing for his family and his wife and kids, and I don't want to say things that may in any way hinder his eventual arrival back to Ireland, but I believe this is a good first step. "We have to work very hard with countries such as Iraq and others in terms of the treatment of Irish citizens.' Read More Irish-based Australian released after four years in Iraqi jail
