Watch: First trailer for Saipan film starring Steve Coogan and Éanna Hardwicke
When a film about Saipan was announced, some football fans likely rolled their eyes, however the first trailer for the film looks promising with the infamous Roy Keane/Mick McCarthy feud to be revived once more.
Whether you were a football fan or not, anyone who lived through the summer of 2002 had an opinion on the falling out.

Roy Keane was arguably the best midfielder on the planet at that point, however, a row about the training facilities on the Western Pacific island led to the Manchester United star leaving the camp ahead of the World Cup.
It seemed the nation was divided, you were either team Keane or team McCarthy, and decades later it is sitll rehashed in pub corners on a near daily basis.
There is no release date yet, but the first trailer for the Saipan film dropped on Monday.
Unsurprisingly, Coogan seems like he'll make a great McCarthy.

However, Cork native Éanna Hardwicke looks like he's well able to take on the role of the most famous Corkman.
With radio pundits heard dissecting the row, amid ominous shots of the island, we hear Hardwicke's Keane telling his manager: "You don't ever tell me we're done. I'm just getting started."
The film is produced by Macdara Kelleher and John Keville for Wild Atlantic Pictures (Evil Dead Rise, Cocaine Bear, Black 47) along with Trevor Birney and Oliver Butler for Fine Point Films (Kneecap, No Stone Unturned) with Patrick O'Neill and Rachael O'Kane serving as executive producers.
The synopsis for Saipan reads "SAIPAN is the thrilling story of football player Roy Keane and his manager Mick McCarthy, and the events leading up to Ireland's incendiary 2002 World Cup campaign.

"The intense rivalry between these two personalities transcended the game, gripping an entire nation and the sporting world. On the surface, the feud was all about standards, but deep down it was a hugely emotive story of two men whose rivalry and contempt came to surpass the sport they loved.
"This is the definitive account of one of the most fractious fallings-out in the history of sport."

Award-winning ITV drama confirms next series will be the last in blow set to leave fans ‘in tears' - and filming for the final episode has already kicked off
ITV has announced that one of their hit series will be coming to an end after its third season. First airing in 2022, The Dry follows the life and family of Shiv Sheridan (Roisin Gallagher), a woman recovering from alcoholism who returns home to Dublin after 10 unsuccessful years as an artist in London. Shiv, 35, is faced with moving back in with her family, all of whom are big drinkers, and are skeptical of her decision to go 'dry'. The series is the brainchild of Irish writer Nancy Harris, who was inspired to write a series that would reconnect her with her Irish identity. She was supported in production by similarly Dublin-born director Paddy Breathnach, who has directed every single episode. The show was initially broadcast on RTÉ One, but was moved to ITV for the second season after its huge popularity. 'Relatable, dark, despicable, yet abundantly human characters. The dry has everything you want from a dramedy and it's full of Irish craic.' Wrote one reviewer on IMDB. 'Shiv and her fellow Sheridan clan are a fantastic Portrayal of ordinary Vs extraordinary and how trauma can creep up on us. This series had me roaring with laughter and crying real tears. Can't wait to see more.' But the Irish comedy-drama will come to an end after the release of the third season, Harris has confirmed, in a statement reflecting on the show. 'It has been a true joy to see audiences embrace the Sheridan family in all their dysfunctional glory' she said. 'I am so grateful to have gotten to tell this story over three seasons.' 'The third and final season aims to go deeper than ever before, really getting under the skin of Shiv and the family in a way that we hope is both surprising, funny and (painfully) honest,' she concluded. Achieving an impressive 94% Rotten Tomatoes score, The Dry has been praised for its authenticity, humour and intelligence. Filming is currently underway for the third and final season of the show, which is scheduled to premiere in 2026. The new season will see the return of the original cast, IFTA nominee Siobhán Cullen (Caroline), Adam Richardson (Ant), Oscar nominee Ciarán Hinds(Tom), Pom Boyd(Bernie), Moe Dunford(Jack)and Eoin Duffy(Rory). Season 3 is said to unearth a huge secret that changes the course of destiny for the Sheridans. But will their fragile family infrastructure shatter under the impact, or become stronger and more durable? Love Island feud exposed as fans spot girl ‘making faces' behind rival's back
LOVE Island fans have become convinced that there's a new feud brewing between two islanders – after a girl was caught 'making faces' at another. As the ITV2 dating series continues, tensions are beginning to flare between the islanders as they try and find their match, with Shakira having more than one clash over the series. 5 5 However, while Shakira and Toni have been accused by fans of 'bullying' Emily, others believe another girl has grown a dislike of Shakira as well. Megan Clarke, who has been dubbed 'Irish Megan' by fans as there are currently two in the villa, has been spotted "making faces" behind Shakira's back as the game continues. After Sunday night's episode, one fan took to Reddit and said: "Quite a few people have clocked this and I'm seeing it now after today's episode but Irish Megan has some sort of weird one-sided beef with Shakira too, it isn't just Helena. During the game, which also was a game of truth or date, Megan was asked how she felt about Conor - prompting her to admit: "Me and Conor got on from the start and that got cut short so I feel like there's unfinished business there."
