Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday! In this weekly roundup, we'll give you a handful of Android wallpapers you can download and use on your phone, tablet, or even your laptop/PC. The images will come from folks here at Android Authority as well as our readers. All are free to use and come without watermarks. File formats are JPG and PNG, and we'll provide images in both landscape and portrait modes, so they'll be optimized for various screens.

Wallpaper Wednesday: May 7, 2025
Another week, another set of awesome Android wallpapers for you to share! Remember that we are always looking for submissions from our readers. Head to the bottom of this article to find out how you could have one of your images featured in an upcoming Wallpaper Wednesday!
With that in mind, we've got six awesome images from our readers that would look great on your phone, tablet, or PC. As usual, we also have three images from the Android Authority team.
First, we have a fantastic photo of a cute little kitty. That comes from reader (and frequent contributor) Kedrig Koka, who used a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra for the shoot. Next, we have a beautiful photo of a sunset over the Vietnamese city of Da Lat. That comes from frequent contributor Han Le, who used a Google Pixel 6 Pro to capture it! After that, we have a great pic of South Korea at night from reader Shaurya Mehta, who used a Nothing Phone 2! Next, we have a creative shot of a fruit called kundang, also known as plum mango. That comes from frequent contributor Cipudul and was shot on a Google Pixel 7! After that, we have a collection of masks on a table from reader Kaustav Pramanik. Finally, we have a pretty purple flower covered in morning dew from reader Kevin Philip. Kevin shot that with a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE! Thanks so much for your submissions, all!
From the Android Authority team, we have a soft pink flower from Adamya Sharma. We also have a gorgeous shot of the Château de Chambord in France from Rita El Khoury. Finally, we have a great photo of some classic Barcelona architecture from Hadlee Simons.

We are very excited to see your own contributions to our Wallpaper Wednesdays project. Before submitting, here are the rules: Your submissions should be your own creation. That means photos you took, digital art you created, etc. Please don't submit other people's work — that's just not cool. Also, please don't send images purely created with AI . They will not be accepted. Images you created and then augmented with AI tools are OK.

We will not accept watermarked images. You will, however, get a credit and a link in the article itself. We can link to your social media account only.

Google Maps lets you customize your car icon on Android and iOS — here's how to do it
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. When you're driving around on Google Maps, whether you're an Android or iPhone user, you'll always be represented on the map with the boring default arrow icon. But what if I told you that it doesn't have to be that way? Because you can change the look of your avatar, and Google's just released a bunch of new options. In the past Google only offered 3 alternate options, 3 colorful vehicles to mix up your navigation screen. Now, though, Google's updated Google Maps to offer 5 more options — each available in one of 8 colors. Though it isn't quite so easy to figure out how. Here's how to customize your car icon in Google Maps on Android and iOS. (Image: © Future) The first thing you need to do is start navigation. It doesn't matter where to, or if you even plan to go, just find a location with the search bar, then tap Start. (Image: © Future) The arrow icon in the center of the screen is your user icon, and the next step is to tap it. It may sometimes appear as a large white dot with a blue center (Image: © Future) You'll then see a pop-up menu showing off different icons you can use — including the arrow and a bunch of different cars. Simply scroll left and right until you find the avatar you like, and tap it. (Image: © Future) Once you've picked your car, you'll need to select a color. The default is white, but there are 7 other options for you to choose from. Then tap Done Just be warned that the original 3 car icons, which can be found at the far right, are only available in a single color. There you have it, your Google Maps icon is now a fetch new ride that looks a heck of a lot more interesting than the boring 2D arrow that you had before. Just remember that you can go back anytime to mix things up, and pick up a brand new driving icon to accompany you. Tech leader unveils groundbreaking laptop concept that runs on sunlight and folds flat like a book: 'Worth keeping an eye on'
Lenovo has been known to push the boundaries of laptop design, and its latest concept devices continue to deliver fresh innovations that include solar power. At Mobile World Congress 2025, the laptop maker revealed both the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI PC and Yoga Solar PC concepts, which could inform the next generation of consumer laptops. CNBC said that given the company's track record of bringing these innovative designs to market, "it's worth keeping an eye on what the Chinese technology giant is up to." The ThinkBook "codename Flip" AI PC, as the company called it, showed off an outward folding OLED display that can provide 18 inches of visual workspace or be folded over for a tablet-style interface. Workflows powered by artificial intelligence, split-screen multitasking, and smart workspace adaptation are being tested in this unique design. Sustainable power is also on the mind of Lenovo engineers, who worked up the Yoga Solar PC proof of concept to help capture the power of the sun to extend the device's runtime. This model includes a photovoltaic cell with 24% energy conversion efficiency, which is one of the best ratings available on the market, the company said. It's achieved through its Back Contact Cell technology, which places brackets and gridlines behind the solar cell for maximum absorption. Its Dynamic Solar Tracking system monitors the panel's current and voltage, working alongside the Solar-First Energy system for prioritizing the sun's rays for energy savings and stability. It can even generate power in low-light conditions while the PC is idle. The Yoga Solar PC can convert enough direct sunlight in 20 minutes to power up to one hour of video playback, according to the company. Measuring just 15 millimeters thin and weighing approximately 2.7 pounds, it's being called the world's first ultra-slim solar-powered PC. This improves upon Samsung's NC215S, which was reportedly the first laptop to include an integrated solar panel in 2011 and needed two hours of sunlight to run for one hour. Engineers and designers are realizing the potential of harnessing the sun's rays to power devices big and small across a variety of applications. Lenovo has a track record of sustainable endeavors, championing repairs when possible to reduce waste, and offering cash for trade-ins so they can handle old devices more responsibly. Mary Jacques, Lenovo's executive director of Global ESG and Regulatory Compliance, told The Cool Down last year: "Our customers are really hungry for more and more information about not just the products that they're buying, but the impact that we can have on their sustainability journey."
