'Israeli' strikes hit Syrian coast, Damascus reports civilian killed

An 'Israeli' airstrike on Syria's western coast killed one civilian and injured three others on Friday, according to Syrian state media.
The strikes targeted military facilities in the Latakia region, marking the first such attack in nearly a month.
Syria's official news agency SANA reported that the attack hit near the village of Zama in the Jableh countryside, south of Latakia. Syrian state television described the incident as an 'Israeli occupation airstrike.'
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strikes targeted military positions and weapons depots in both the Latakia and Tartus governorates.
In a statement Friday night, 'Israeli' Defense Minister Israel Katz said 'Israel' destroyed strategic weapons across Syria that posed a 'direct threat' to the country. 'There will be no immunity for anyone,' he said. 'We will not allow threats to the State of Israel and will continue defending its security.'
The escalation comes just weeks after reports emerged of indirect negotiations with Israel in May aimed at reducing tensions.

Hamas says ready to 'immediately' hold round of Gaza truce talks

Hamas said Sunday it was ready to "immediately" hold a fresh round of negotiations for a truce in Gaza after recent talks appeared to hit a dead end. "The movement affirms its readiness to immediately begin a round of indirect negotiations to reach an agreement on the points of contention," Hamas said in a statement after mediators Qatar and Egypt said they would intensify their efforts for a truce in the war-battered Gaza Strip. Hamas reiterated it seeks a permanent cease-fire and the complete withdrawal of 'Israeli' forces from the Gaza Strip.

Houthis say fired ballistic at Ben Gurion Airport; 'Israel' says intercepted

The 'Israeli' army said it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen on Sunday after air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem and surrounding areas. "Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted," the army said in a statement. The Yemen's Houthis said they fired a ballistic missile at Ben Gurion airport. The group's military spokesperson Yahya Saree said three drones were also launched at 'Israel'. The Iran-backed group has repeatedly launched missiles and drones at 'Israel' in what they say is support for the Palestinians against the 'Israeli' aggression.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad accuses PA of torturing member to death in custody

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement issued a statement Sunday accusing the Palestinian Authority (PA) of torturing one of its members to death while in custody in Ramallah. In the statement, the group announced the death of Ahmed Abu Al-Najaj (also known as Al-Safouri), a member of the Jenin Battalion, claiming he died as a result of torture inside a PA detention facility. Abu Al-Najaj had previously spent five years in 'Israeli' prisons and was detained by Palestinian security forces at the start of Israeli Occupation's ongoing aggression in Gaza. PIJ strongly condemned the "continued security coordination" between the PA and 'Israeli' forces, accusing the PA of targeting resistance fighters and mistreating detainees, even as Palestinians in Gaza face a devastating humanitarian crisis marked by widespread hunger and relentless 'Israeli' bombardment. The group also alleged that the PA had refused to hand over Abu Al-Najaj's body to his family or allow an independent autopsy. The PA has reportedly claimed the detainee took his own life; an assertion rejected by PIJ and the family of the deceased. 'This crime only serves the goals of the Israeli enemy and reveals how far the security apparatus in Ramallah has gone in its betrayal of the people,' the statement read. PIJ called for the immediate release of all political detainees and resistance fighters held by the PA and urged Palestinian political factions and leaders to intervene to prevent internal strife and avoid fueling tensions that could benefit Israeli Occupation. The incident comes amid a broader Israeli Occupation military offensive across Gaza and the occupied West Bank, with repeated reports of escalating violence, arrests, and settlement expansion.
