Shocking details of NBA star Rudy Gobert's bitter split with his pregnant girlfriend emerge amid playoff run
Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert dumped his pregnant girlfriend and kicked her and their one-year-old son out of his home last month, according to a bombshell report.
Gobert, 32, was seen embracing Julia Bonilla and young child Romeo after the Timberwolves' final regular-season game against the Utah Jazz on April 13.
However, TMZ Sports claims the 7ft 1in French center broke up with his partner right at the start of the NBA playoffs, which began for Minnesota against the Los Angeles Lakers on April 19.
It is believed Rudy told Julia, who is currently pregnant with the couple's second child, to leave his home for good and take Romeo with her.
After news of their shocking break-up surfaced, Julia took to Instagram to give her side of the story before later switching her account to private.
Bonilla, who is also from France, wrote on her story: 'I'm going through one of the most painful times in my life, feeling isolated, far from my family and friends.
'I considered Rudy the love of my life. I left everything for him. I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship.
'When everyone criticized him and insulted him, I stood by him, always putting him first and choosing him, always.
'Despite how I have been treated, I choose to protect his name for the sake of my children.
'I am a mom and I must prioritize my health and well-being. Thank you for respecting my privacy during this challenging time.'
DailyMail.com has reached out to Gobert's management for comment.
Rudy and Julia first went public with their relationship back in February 2024, though it is unclear when they started dating.
The couple welcomed Romeo during Minnesota's playoff series against the Denver Nuggets in May of last year, before Julia recently fell pregnant with their second baby.
TMZ claims she is hoping to move back home to France following the split. According to her blog, the mother of Gobert's kids is from Paris.
Yet it is believed the four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and three-time All-Star wants her and Romeo to remain in the US until they decide who will maintain custody of their son.
He has reportedly already lawyered up, with his representatives applying pressure to ensure Julia stays in Minnesota.
Back in April 2024, when Rudy was voted 'most overrated' by his fellow NBA players, Julia leapt to her boyfriend's defense.
'My partner is the most dedicated, focused, hard-working person I have ever met,' she wrote in an Instagram post. 'He hasn't stolen anything from anyone and deserves all the respect for his determination and commitment to his career.'
Gobert, who started his basketball career in France with Cholet, was drafted by the Nuggets in 2013 before being traded to the Utah Jazz, where he remained for 10 seasons before heading to the Timberwolves in 2022.

So ballast and FIA-mandated electronics have been thrown out, and a 'user-friendly' open-loop torque control system replaces the competition-style closed-loop sensors. You might like Meanwhile the V12 has been recalibrated for fuel you can actually get hold of, and… erm, that's about it. Like the racecar you still get a seven-speed sequential transmission with semi-automatic paddleshift, and the suspension remains insanely complex: double wishbones front and back, plus pushrod actuated torsion bars with adjustable side and central dampers. Aston says the setup has been optimised for track day driving, and it's fitted bespoke performance boots from F1 shoemaker Pirelli. Just as well you won't be dealing with toll booths in this. The steering wheel integrates shift lights and a driver's display. Doubt it'll run Apple CarPlay, that. Those 10 lucky owners have the option of taking full possession of the LM themselves, or you can let Aston look after the car and enrol in a tailored development programme complete with driver coaching, simulator sessions and classroom prep to get the most out of your (likely very expensive) machine. Meghan Markle reportedly plans to add hotels and restaurants to her As Ever lifestyle brand. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is trademarking her brand As Ever for 'hospitality services', The Sun first reported. This will reportedly include places to stay, as well as temporary lodgings and 'provision of food and drink', the newspaper revealed last night. Meghan could dish up a selection of her own edible creations, incorporating recipes she featured on her recent Netflix eight-part cooking show With Love, Meghan. Brand experts have claimed hotels and restaurants fit in nicely with the Duchess' business brand. It comes after Meghan said in the first episode of her series: 'When I have someone stay, one of my favourite things to do is prep the guest room.' A second series of the show has already been filmed and is set to be released this Autumn, despite a series of less than ideal reviews following the programme's release in March. The show saw Meghan reveal her tips and tricks for hosting guests, as well as different recipes and party planning hacks.
