No arrests 2 years after deadly Hialeah hit-and-run, family demands justice
The family of a man killed in a hit-and-run crash outside Palmetto General Hospital is begging for tips to help Hialeah police solve the case, two years after the tragedy.
Luisa Arias and Yusmani Rodriguez, speaking through tears, said they are desperate for answers about the death of Pablo Rodriguez, 38.
"The only thing I ask is that you give me the person who did it," Arias said in Spanish, struggling to find words through her grief.
Her daughter, Yusmani Rodriguez, added, "Because of what happened to him, there are questions that have no answers."
On February 7, 2023, Pablo Rodriguez was walking toward Palmetto General Hospital when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, police said.
His family explained that Rodriguez had attempted to park in the hospital's garage but couldn't fit, so he left his car across the street at a Burger King. As he crossed the street toward the hospital around 7:21 p.m., he was fatally struck.
Despite ongoing investigations, police have yet to identify the driver responsible.
On Tuesday, the Hialeah Police Department again urged the public to come forward with information, hoping to bring closure to Rodriguez's grieving family.
"We hope that the police will catch the person responsible," Yusmani Rodriguez said. "If they find the culprit or others who know the facts, it would bring closure."

Four people were killed when a gang of suspected ram raiders crashed into oncoming traffic during a high-speed police chase on Spain's Costa del Sol on Thursday. They escaped along the A7 coastal motorway towards Marbella, with patrol cars in pursuit. After speeding along the wrong side of the road to throw off the pursuit, they crashed into the off-duty officer's car when they took an exit near Torremolinos's Palacio de Congresos conference centre. The officer's car caught fire on impact. The National Police Force and the SUP, a Spanish police officers' union, sent their condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Antonio. The interior ministry said the government was 'deeply saddened by Antonio's death'. Malaga's pharmacy association called for improved security to halt a 'crime wave' affecting chemists in the province. Man dies in partial roof collapse in Brooklyn: NYPD
MARINE PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A man died after a roof of a Brooklyn building partially collapsed Thursday morning, police said. The 43-year-old man was found unconscious in the debris after the storage building's roof caved in at 3223 Quentin Rd. in Marine Park at around 8:50 a.m., according to the NYPD. Taxi driver, 68, robbed at knifepoint in LIC: NYPD
LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (PIX11) — A woman is accused of robbing a 68-year-old taxi driver at knifepoint after hopping into the cab in Queens last month, police said Thursday.
