The Charlotte Hornets are engaged in trade discussions surrounding the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, with several teams eyeing Rutgers guard Ace Bailey, according to ClutchPoints' NBA insider Brett Siegel.

League sources told Siegel that the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, and New Orleans Pelicans have shown serious interest in acquiring the pick, anticipating Bailey will be available at No. 4. Brooklyn, in particular, has five first-round selections at its disposal to facilitate a potential deal.
'The Nets, Wizards, and Pelicans are the three teams with serious interest in Bailey, and Brooklyn now has five first-round picks they can use at their disposal in trade talks,' Siegel reported. 'Charlotte's main draft targets — Knueppel, Tre Johnson, and Khaman Maluach — will be available if a trade-down scenario for Jeff Peterson and his front office.'

Bailey, an 18-year-old 6-foot-10 guard, averaged 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and one steal per game in his lone season at Rutgers. He shot 46% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range across 30 games. Despite his production, his draft stock has reportedly slid due to canceled workouts and his decision not to meet with certain teams during the pre-draft process.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday ahead of the draft at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Bailey said he has gained over 20 pounds of muscle since the end of the college season. He was listed at 210 pounds at Rutgers but weighed in at 203 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine in early May.
Charlotte is reportedly considering multiple options with its pick, including trading down to target other prospects. Khaman Maluach and Kon Knueppel, both at Duke, and Texas guard Tre Johnson are viewed as potential fits should the Hornets move back in the draft order.
Executive vice president of basketball operations Jeff Peterson is overseeing the Hornets' strategy as the organization continues to build around young cornerstone players.
The 2025 NBA Draft begins Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET at Barclays Center and will be televised on ABC and ESPN. The Hornets hold a key position in shaping the top of the draft, with Bailey's availability potentially triggering a major trade.

Report: OKC Thunder sign Pittsburgh's Zack Austin as UDFA
Just because the 2025 NBA draft is over, doesn't mean teams stop ringing the phones. As soon as the last pick is announced, a whole class of undrafted free agents hope to get signed by an NBA squad with summer league weeks away. The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Georgetown's Thomas Sorber with the No. 15 pick and Northwestern's Brooks Barnhizer with the No. 44 pick. Now, they added somebody from undrafted free agency. The Thunder have signed Pittsburgh's Zack Austin to an Exhibit-10 deal, per Draft Express's Jon Chepkevich. He played in four college seasons from 2021-25. He spent his first two years at High Point and his last two at Pittsburgh. Austin averaged 9.2 points on 42.4% shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 32 games last season. He shot 38.1% from 3 on 4.6 attempts. He was also a 90.2% free-throw shooter. He tallied 1.6 blocks and 1.1 steals. The 23-year-old is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward. Austin will get a chance to play for the Thunder on their summer league squad. If he impresses enough, he could get added to their G League's OKC Blue roster. Texas A&M Basketball's all-time leading scorer has signed with the Milwaukee Bucks
Even though Texas A&M's basketball program is under new management with head coach Bucky McMillan now running things, the Aggies' all-time leading scorer, point guard Wade Taylor IV, will reportedly sign with the Milwaukee Bucks after not being selected in the 2025 NBA Draft, and will participate in the summer league to begin his professional career. The fact that Taylor was not selected in the first or second round is not surprising due to his inconsistency as a shooter during his senior season, while his 6'0" frame isn't ideal if he isn't draining shots at a high rate. Still, it was never in doubt that the Dallas, Texas native would earn himself a shot in the summer league to improve as a shooter and show why he finished his Aggie career as one of the greatest players in program history. During his final collegiate season, Taylor led the Aggies with 15.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds, but shot just 35.4% from the field and barely 31% from beyond the arc. If Taylor had shot at least 40% or better in both areas, he could have been selected in the second round based on his leadership, speed, and defensive skill set. With the Bucks' summer league team, Taylor will need to emulate the shooting performance of current Texas A&M transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako during his NBA Combine scrimmages to increase his chances of making a G-League roster and fully developing before potentially making an NBA roster in the near future. This summer, Taylor took pre-draft visits with the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New Jersey Nets. Taylor ended his Texas A&M career with 2,058 points, which will not be surpassed for a long time.
