A couple have tragically been discovered dead in their tent whilst camping near a picturesque location in Scotland.
Adele Tait, 47, and her partner Craig are believed to have been camping together. But when their family didn't hear from them, they became worried and reported their concerns to the police.
The couple had failed to maintain contact after setting up camp last week on the shores of Loch Awe, near Dalmally, Argyll. Loch Awe is a globally renowned fishing destination, where fishermen flock in pursuit of the legendary Ferox Brown Trout, as well as pike and sea trout.
Situated in the heart of Argyll and Bute in Scotland, it's a majestic freshwater lake famous for its rich history, vast size, and significant water catchment area. Stretching approximately 25 miles in length, Loch Awe holds the title as the longest freshwater loch in Scotland, meandering through the stunning landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.
The trip would have been a delightful change of scenery for the couple who are believed to have lived together in a cottage in the village of Longridge, West Lothian. However, their journey ended in tragedy before the afternoon of Saturday, June 7 when Police Scotland officers found the couple's bodies.
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances, reports the Mirror.
Adele's heartbroken mother, Anne, shared a touching tribute on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of herself with her daughter, and wrote: "I am devastated to be writing this - my eldest daughter Adele and her partner Craig have sadly passed away. The family are heartbroken at this time. You are my firstborn, the one who made me a mum. I'm in pieces, another part of my heart is in heaven."
One friend reminisced about countryside strolls with Adele, posting photos and expressing: "Thank you for always being an amazing friend, always honest and caring."
A Longridge neighbour recalled the couple fondly, remarking: "They were a good couple who liked camping. It's a tragedy."
Police Scotland has issued a statement regarding the deaths of Adele and Craig: "A man and woman were found deceased within a tent on the side of Loch Awe at 4.25pm on Saturday. Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious."
This news comes shortly after the discovery of a body in a wooded area near Falkirk, believed to be that of Cole Cooper, a 19-year-old who went missing last month. The body was located close to Kilsyth Road in Banknock at approximately 4.15pm on Friday, June 6, not far from where Cole was last seen.
Police Scotland has informed Cole's family of the find, although formal identification has yet to take place.
The site where the body was discovered is only a 15-minute walk from Cole's last known location. Police Scotland continues its efforts to unravel the circumstances of the incident.

Police probe hit-and-run on Dundee street

Police have launched an investigation after a motorist deliberately tried to run over two men in a Dundee street. The driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa appeared to target the pair on Balmoral Place in the city's Douglas area. The incident took place near the community centre and library just after 3.15pm on Tuesday. Footage – seen by The Courier – shows three men on foot before the car enters the street via Balmoral Avenue. The vehicle then accelerates towards one shirtless man, who rolls over the bumper but remains on his feet. The driver then turns the car towards a second man standing at nearby flats, striking him at speed and propelling him into the air before fleeing towards Balmoral Terrace. Despite the impact, neither man required medical treatment, and neighbours said the pair remained in the area following the incident. One woman said: 'It was scary seeing the footage of what happened. 'The lads who got hit didn't even leave the street, and then the uniformed police arrived. 'There were three or four officers on the street, and CID came back the next day to carry out door-to-door enquiries. 'All they told us was that an incident had happened. 'It's absolutely mental what's going on in Dundee just now.' Police confirmed the hit-and-run is believed to have been targeted. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: 'Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run in Dundee. 'Around 3.15pm on Tuesday, 10 June, officers were called to Balmoral Place after two men were deliberately struck by a black Vauxhall Corsa. 'They did not require medical treatment. 'The incident is believed to have been targeted and inquiries are ongoing.' Detective Inspector Craig Kelly said: 'We have been carrying out extensive inquiries, including reviewing CCTV. 'At this stage, I am asking the public if they witnessed this incident to please come forward.' 'Similarly, anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist is urged to contact us.' Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2070 of 10 June, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
