US media: Witkoff plans to meet Araghchi in Muscat next Sunday

Saba Yemena day ago

Washington-Saba:
US media reported on Thursday that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi next Sunday in the Omani capital, Muscat, to discuss Tehran's response to the latest US proposal regarding its nuclear program.
According to the American website Axios, citing a US official, "Iran has not yet responded to the US proposal, making it unlikely that the sixth round of negotiations will be held on the scheduled date."
Since April 12, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of indirect negotiations mediated by the Sultanate of Oman, the last of which was on May 23.
These negotiations began after US President Donald Trump sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in March, proposing a new agreement on Tehran's nuclear program and threatening to use military force if the diplomatic track failed. Tehran rejected direct dialogue but agreed to indirect negotiations.

Hamas: Israeli aggression against Iran dangerous development

Doha - Saba: Hamas has condemned the large-scale aggression launched by the Israeli enemy entity at dawn on Friday against Iran, stressing that this aggression constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens to explode the region and reflects the insistence of the extremist Netanyahu government on dragging the region into open confrontations in service of its Talmudic delusions and its efforts to dominate the peoples of the nation. Hamas said in a press statement on Friday that this brutal aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions and reaffirms that the Israeli project poses an existential threat to the entire region, not just Palestine, and targets all those who refuse to submit and insist on supporting the causes of the nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. Hamas expressed its full solidarity with Iran, offering its condolences to the Iranian leadership and people for the martyrdom of several senior commanders, most notably Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Revolutionary Guards; Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army; and a number of nuclear scientists. It noted that Iran is today paying the price for its steadfast positions in support of Palestine and its resistance, and for its adherence to its independent national decision. This calls for a unified stance from the nation and its vital forces in the face of this dangerous aggression. It emphasized that the Israeli entity is the nation's central enemy, and the battle against it is a battle of destiny that requires unity of ranks and integrated efforts to protect our peoples from its crimes and expansionist plans. IRGC mourns commander Major General Hossein Salami

Tehran - Saba: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) mourned in a statement on Friday its commander, Major General Hossein Salami, who was martyred in the Zionist aggression against Iran, stressing its readiness to respond firmly and forcefully to the Zionist enemy's aggression. The statement marking the unjust martyrdom of the commander-in-chief of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami, and a group of Guard Corps members, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA, read: "With hearts filled with sorrow and grief, we mourn the unjust martyrdom of the loyal and steadfast commander, Major General Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, along with a number of his guards and colleagues, in the criminal and terrorist attack on the IRGC headquarters this morning by the child-murdering Zionist entity, while they were performing a sensitive mission to protect the security of the homeland and the country." The statement continued: "There is no doubt that Major General Salami was one of the most prominent leaders of the Islamic Revolution and a man of scientific, cultural, security, and military jihad. He was present in all fields with a sincere, wise, and sovereign spirit on the front lines defending the principles of the revolution and the people." The statement added: "Despite this brutal crime, the noble and revolutionary Muslim Iranian people, while emphasizing the preservation of public security, are reassured that the leadership of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with all its strength and experience, along with other armed forces and the faithful mujahideen of the Islamic nation, is prepared to respond firmly and forcefully to the aggression of the Zionist enemy." The statement noted that "the necessary measures to combat crimes and prevent the occurrence of such incidents and events have been considered and prepared for a long time, and the heroic and understanding Iranian people will be informed of the details of the enemy's criminal operations and the countermeasures against them." It is worth noting that a number of Iranian military commanders, scholars, and civilians have been martyred as a result of the brutal attacks launched by the Zionist regime on Tehran and a number of Iranian cities. Following this heinous crime, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued a statement saying: "O great people of Iran, the filthy and bloody hand of the Zionist regime committed a crime in our beloved country this morning, revealing its evil nature more than ever by striking residential areas. Let the regime await severe punishment." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Govt of Yemen in Sana'a condemns blatant Zionist aggression against Iran

Sana'a - Saba: The Government of the Republic of Yemen in Sana'a early Friday condemned in the strongest terms the blatant Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which targeted the capital, Tehran, and several provinces. In a statement, the Government of Change and Construction considered the illegitimate and unjustified Zionist aggression against Iran a new episode in the series of Zionist arrogance in the region, backed by American participation in the form of advanced weaponry, logistical support, incitement, and political and media cover. The statement indicated that this aggression came in the wake of a systematic Western escalation against the Islamic Republic of Iran before the so-called International Atomic Energy Agency, which has become a docile tool in the hands of the Zionist entity and its supporters, applying double standards and turning a blind eye to the nuclear arsenal of the "Israeli" entity, which threatens regional security, while pursuing a peaceful program in which Iran adheres to legitimate standards and uses. The statement said, "It is nothing new for the forces of evil to fabricate false pretexts to justify their aggression. Just as America invaded Iraq yesterday under the pretext of weapons of mass destruction, the Israeli enemy is repeating the same scenario today with Iran, using the same broken record about the non-peacefulness of its nuclear program." The Yemeni government in Sana'a affirmed that the unjust sanctions and brutal aggression against Iran are nothing but a desperate American-Israeli attempt within the framework of the maximum pressure policy, aimed at halting their principled and unwavering support for the Palestinian people and leaving Gaza alone to confront the killing and genocide perpetrated by the Zionist entity. The statement noted that the Government of Change and Construction is fully confident that Iranian support for the Palestinian people will not cease, and that the flame of support for the resistance will not be extinguished under any pressure, threat, sacrifice, or loss. It stated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as we have always known it, will continue to support and aid all the oppressed and will continue working to stop the crime of the century being committed by the Zionists and Americans in Gaza and Palestine." While the Government of Change and Reconstruction expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the people, leadership, and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for all the martyrs who have ascended during the Zionist aggression against the country, it affirmed its confidence that the Islamic Republic is capable of responding to this aggression and any violation of its sovereignty and the rights of its people. The statement added, "Iran, which has confronted the most powerful forces and withstood siege and threats for decades, is capable today of deterring aggressors and teaching them lessons they will never forget." The Government of Change and Reconstruction held the Israeli occupation entity and its international partners, foremost among them the United States of America, fully responsible for all the serious repercussions and consequences of this aggression at the regional and international levels. It stressed that igniting fires in the region will only burn the fingers of those who set them, and that the arrogance of power will inevitably be shattered on the rock of truth and steadfastness.
