Furious parents hit out at school bosses as cops confirmed they are investigating a 'report of a child in possession of a knife'.
It is claimed the P3 pupil brandished a kitchen knife at another lad before teachers confiscated it. He has since been excluded from school.
But a letter sent by a council chief six days later only mentions that there was an 'incident' at Heathfield Primary in Ayr.
The only official notification most parents received about the horror moment on May 8 came from Lyndsay McRoberts, South Ayrshire's Director of Education.
She wrote: 'While we are limited in what details can be shared beyond those directly involved, please be assured that the school acted appropriately and with the best interests of all children at heart.'
But one concerned mother, who asked to remain anonymous, criticised the school for failing to provide full details.
She told The Scottish Sun: 'It's alleged the child came into school with a kitchen knife in his bag.
'He shouted at a boy and tried to make his way to another classroom.
'The teachers apparently stopped him and confiscated the knife.
Moment pupil 'storms school with KNIFE' in front of terrified kids
'But the school have dealt with this dreadfully. I only found out about it through other parents. We weren't informed of anything that happened.
'We got a letter from the Director of Education nearly a week later. It didn't even specify what happened, never once mentioning a knife.
'It's all been kept very hush-hush. They've not taken into consideration the toll it has taken on the kids.
'They were terrified. This affects absolutely everybody in that playground and every parent sat at home worrying about their kids.'
A spokesman for South Ayrshire Council said: 'We can confirm there was an incident in a P3 class at Heathfield Primary School last week involving a seven-year-old child. At no point were any pupils in the class or staff harmed or threatened.
'The situation was resolved without disruption to the wider school. The child involved was excluded. Parents/carers with children in the class were notified of the incident last week.
'The police were also informed along with all other relevant agencies. Wider communication on this was subsequently sent to all parents/carers with children at the school.'
Police Scotland said: 'Around 9.20am on May 8 we received a report of a child in possession of a knife at a school in Ayr. Advice was given.'
We told in 2014 how a teacher at Heathfield Primary suffered broken ribs and a black eye after being hit by a nine-year-old P5 pupil.
Last month, cop were called to Mortlach Primary in Dufftown, Moray, after a blade was brought in. Also in April, a girl aged 12 was rushed to hospital after an alleged slashing at Hazlehead Academy, Aberdeen.
The Scottish Sun has revealed plans for an anti-knife campaign by the parents of Kory McCrimmon, 16, who was stabbed to death by a 13-year-old thug in a Glasgow park last May.

‘Goading' yob who got cop sacked after he was rammed off e-bike is locked up after ANOTHER police chase

Mason McGarry was riding with pal Dominic Mizzi when they were clipped by ex-PC Tim Bradshaw in his police car. Veteran officer Bradshaw was cleared of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but was forced to leave his job after 22 years. At the time, the court heard serial offender McGarry had 42 previous convictions - including for robbery, theft and dangerous driving. The 19-year-old is now finally behind bars after he mounted the pavement in a friend's car at 60mph and hit a lorry while being chased by cops - just a month after the e-bike crash. Portsmouth Crown Court heard McGarry was driving his sister and two others in the borrowed Vauxhall when his friend called police to say the car had not been returned. Officers began a pursuit through Chichester as the teen drove at 60mph in a 40mph zone in a bid to shake them off. But McGarry tried to "squeeze" in past the lorry and instead mounted the pavement and hit the vehicle - causing £1,200 worth of damage. The thug pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop and driving without insurance. The court heard his list of previous convictions was "unenviable" and includes offences of drug possession, trafficking and two dangerous driving convictions. McGarry was sent to a young offender's institution for 12 months. Sentencing, Judge Jodie Mittell said: "The concern I obviously have is that the fifth time he will kill someone. "That could be his sister." At PC Bradshaw's trial in February, the court heard the crash took place while the officer was driving a marked Ford Focus. He said he tried to follow the e-bike after it rode past his car on the pavement in an attempt to "goad" him. Bradshaw said the same bike later pulled in front of him which is when he chose to make "tactical contact" at around 30mph. But he claimed only he "nudged" the electric bike with the bumper of his vehicle and that it was Mizzi's "own stupid fault". Bradshaw, who is now retired, added: "It was light contact, it was light enough, there was not a blemish on my police car. "I believed it was a justified, necessary action." During a voluntary interview with police, he also branded McGarry a "feral" teenager and someone who "just doesn't get it, just doesn't stop". A jury took just over an hour to reach their verdict and clear Bradshaw of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was also found not guilty of a charge of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention. The retired cop later claimed his colleagues are now fearful of taking direct action in dangerous situations because of the potential consequences. 5 PC Bradshaw was cleared of any wrongdoing 5 He told how he was 'goaded' by McGarry Credit: Solent

Morrisons petrol station robbed as man rushed to hospital in late-night incident

The petrol station on Lindsayfield Avenue in East Kilbride has been robbed as police launch a manhunt. A Scots petrol station has been cordoned off by police following a late-night robbery which left a man in hospital. Police Scotland have launched a manhunt after the Morrisons supermarket fuel station on Lindsayfield Avenue, East Kilbride, was robbed in the early hours of this morning (Monday June 9). ‌ Emergency personnel received a call about the incident at around 12.15am and crews raced to the scene. Upon attending, a male member of staff was rushed to hospital. ‌ The force have since opened a probe to find those responsible for the raid. Images from the scene show the petrol station taped off by police with cop cars still in attendance. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'An investigation is underway following a robbery at a fuel station on Lindsayfield Avenue, East Kilbride. " Police received a call around 12.15am on Monday, June 9, 2025. " Emergency services attended and a male member of staff was taken to hospital. ‌ " Enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.' Last month, in a separate incident, we reported that a crowd of masked youths threw a lit flare into a petrol station shop in a shocking rampage in Wishaw. ‌ Up to 25 yobs descended on the forecourt of the petrol station on Overtown Road in the Lanarkshire town at around 5:50pm on May 13. CCTV captured the gang, a number of whom wore balaclavas and dark clothing, as they launched the missile. Staff members and a number of customers were inside the petrol station shop during the attack. ‌ Police were called to the disturbance but the youths had fled the scene. It is understood the group had earlier been at Newmains United Community FC ground before they made their way to the petrol station. ‌ Cooper Brothers Ltd, who own the premises, took to social media for help identifying the culprits. A statement read: "A group of over 25 youths entered our petrol station forecourt and lit a flare. It was then thrown into the shop, with staff and customers still in the store, causing smoke and burn damage to the floor and some stock. "Thankfully, no fuel was ignited. ‌ "The group had been at the Newmains United Community FC ground beforehand, with some claiming to be 'Ultras' from the club. Some individuals were wearing black or red-and-black balaclavas. "We've handed over full CCTV to Police Scotland, but any additional information could really help. ‌ The petrol station shared CCTV of the moment black smoke filled the petrol station ship after the pyrotechnic was thrown inside. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 5.50pm on Tuesday, 13 May, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance involving a group of youths at a premises on Overtown Road, Wishaw. 'Officers attended and the group had dispersed. Enquiries are ongoing.' ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
