Saudi German Health (SGH), the largest healthcare group in the MENA region, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Megamind to embark on a transformative journey aimed at revolutionising healthcare delivery. The collaboration focuses on the advanced implementation of the Health Information System (HIS) and the enhancement of cybersecurity measures across SGH facilities in Saudi Arabia through the 'SGH KSA Cybersecurity' project.
The MoU was signed by Madani Hozaien, Group Chief financial officer at SGH, and Hamza Sobhi Batterjee, President/CEO, Megamind IT Solutions, during the third day of Arab Health, which is being held between January 27 and 30, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The strategic partnership underscores SGH's steadfast commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and patient-centric care, as well as setting new benchmarks for healthcare in the region.
Makarem Batterjee, Vice Chairman of SGH, stated: 'We are thrilled to launch the Intersystem HIS Implementation project at Saudi German Hospital (SGH) in KSA. This strategic initiative reflects SGH's steadfast commitment to advancing innovation and excellence within the healthcare sector. By utilising Intersystem's state-of-the-art HIS solutions, we aim to create a healthcare ecosystem that is interconnected, human-centric, and equitable. Furthermore, initiating the 'SGH KSA Cybersecurity' project will reinforce our digital infrastructure, ensuring robust security across all healthcare systems. At SGH KSA, we remain steadfast in our dedication to fostering a secure, resilient, and innovative healthcare environment with an emphasis on patient safety and data protection.'
The cutting-edge HIS implementation project is designed to enhance healthcare delivery by optimising patient care workflows, integrating advanced health information technologies, improving data accuracy and accessibility, and enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction. Concurrently, the SGH KSA Cybersecurity project is focused on fortifying SGH's digital infrastructure to ensure secure healthcare operations through a comprehensive set of security measures.
This cybersecurity project aims to optimise system performance and provide a secure, efficient user experience. Key components include the installation of a Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect web applications from cyber threats, as well as a remote access system to ensure secure and seamless connectivity for SGH employees. A Data Centre Firewall will be deployed to bolster defences at the core of SGH's operations.
Additionally, the project will incorporate Identity and Access Management (IAM) to strengthen secure access control, Privileged Access Management (PAM) for safeguarding sensitive systems and accounts, and a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) to monitor and address threats in real-time. Furthermore, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools will be implemented for advanced threat detection and incident management. The project will identify and mitigate potential risks as well as ensure business continuity and rapid recovery in the event of unexpected events or disruptions.
This partnership is designed to elevate the region's healthcare system by combining state-of-the-art technology with robust cybersecurity solutions, ensuring patient safety and data protection are prioritised across all operations.

IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 Conclude with a Total of AED 25.15 Billion in Deals - Middle East Business News and Information
Tawazun Council announced 15 deals valued at AED 1.43 billion with both local and international companies. This brought the total number of deals signed during the five-day exhibition to 55, with a total value of AED 25.15 billion, marked a 10% growth compared to the 2023 edition. The total contracts signed amounted to AED 3.97 billion on the first day, AED 5.80 billion on the second day, AED 10.18 billion on the third day, and AED 3.77 billion on the fourth day. The announcement was made during a press conference attended by Majed Ahmed Al Jabri, Mohamed Saif Al Zaabi, and Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri, the official spokespersons for Tawazun Council, who shared details about the council's agreements for the Ministry of Defense at the exhibitions, which were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and organized by ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and Tawazun Council. Mahra Bilal Al Dhaheri revealed that the total value of local deals on the fifth and final day of the exhibitions reached 11 deals worth AED 766.3 million. Among them were three contracts with 'International Golden Group': the first for purchasing ammunition valued at AED 145.3 million, the second for renewing licenses and programs for the Electronic Medical File System (HIS) infrastructure, worth AED 180 million, and the third for purchasing military uniforms and equipment valued at AED 136.8 million. Other notable local deals included contracts with 'Al Jaber Land Systems' for the provision of support services and spare parts for trailers worth AED 28 million, 'Itqan AL Khaleej Computers' for the development of infrastructure for the Ministry of Defense's ' Sheryan' system valued at AED 74.1 million, and 'Al Taif' for maintenance services of air defense systems worth AED 29 million. A contract was awarded to 'e-Marine' for maintenance and repair services of submarine cables for the Sharyan Network project, valued at AED 30 million. Additionally, an AED 25 million contract was signed with 'Trans Orient' for technical support services for Armed Forces vehicles. Another agreement, worth AED 22.5 million, was secured with 'Al Aberah Electrical' Works to provide technical support. Furthermore, 'Fast Marine' was contracted to supply inspection boats for AED 68.8 million, while the final deal involved 'Etimad Strategic Security Solutions', which secured an AED 26.8 million contract for the purchase of a specialized vehicle. Mohamed Saif Al Zaabi highlighted that the total value of international deals on the fifth day of the 'IDEX and NAVDEX 2025' exhibitions amounted to 4 contracts worth AED 661.6 million. These included a contract with US-based ' Lockheed Martin ' for the alignment of new Sidewinder missiles, valued at AED 429.4 million, and a contract with US-based ' INSITU ' for maintenance, repair, and sustainment services for drone systems, valued at AED 55.1 million. The deals also included an agreement with French company ' Safran Helicopter Engines ' for technical and engineering support services, as well as the supply of spare parts for aircraft engines, valued at AED 23.6 million. Additionally, a contract was signed with South Africa's ' GEW Technologies ' for the purchase of a wireless jamming system worth AED 153.5 million. Majed Ahmed Al Jabri emphasized that the success of IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 highlights the UAE's prominent position as a global leader in the defense industry. He added that the increased confidence in the UAE's defense and security investment environment reflects the country's role as a key strategic partner in this vital sector. Tawazun Council remains committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry, supporting innovation, and ensuring defense readiness by attracting the latest global technologies and solutions.
