What: Some of the best drinkslingers from Hong Kong and Mongolia are going head to head at Courtroom ahead of Valentine's Day. The winner? The mixologist whose drinks sell out quicker. In the first guest shift bout from 7pm to 8.30pm, Moses Yuen from Kinsman squares off against Midgaa Rentsenmyadag, founder of Bacco Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar. Then, from 8.30pm until 10pm, Xenia Chan of The Pontiac faces Amarsanaa Avarzed, owner of The Nomad Lab, the self-described first cocktail lab in Mongolia.
The event is sponsored by Proof & Company, EcoSpirits, Widges Gin, and Tried and True Vodka, and proceeds will go to social enterprise More Good. The organisation is hosting a volunteering workshop in March distributing meals to underprivileged communities in Hong Kong.

YouTube: 20 billion videos uploaded in 20 years

YouTube: 20 billion videos uploaded in 20 years YouTube says that it now sees an average of some 20 million videos uploaded daily. File photo: AFP YouTube on Wednesday celebrated more than 20 billion videos being uploaded to the platform since the first clip debuted two decades ago. The online video-sharing platform has evolved into a modern lifestyle staple poised to overtake US cable television in paid viewership. PayPal colleagues Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim conceived YouTube in 2005, reportedly during a dinner party. The domain launched on Valentine's Day that year. Video uploading capabilities were added on April 23, when Karim posted the first video, titled "Me at the Zoo." The 19-second clip showing Karim at the San Diego Zoo's elephant exhibit has garnered 348 million views. Over the next 20 years, the site expanded beyond what was imagined possible back in 2005. YouTube says that it now sees an average of some 20 million videos uploaded daily. The platform hosts everything from concert clips and podcasts to political ads, tutorials and much more. YouTube has become the world's largest digital video service in terms of time spent by viewers and ad revenue, according to eMarketer analyst Ross Benes. The platform reached more than 2.5 billion viewers globally last year, and hit 100 million subscribers to its music and premium tier, according to market tracker Statista. YouTube is projected to surpass all US cable television services in paid subscribers within two years, according to Benes. Users worldwide watch more than a billion hours of YouTube content daily on television sets alone, Google reported. YouTube said it will upgrade its TV viewing experience this summer with improved features and "quality tweaks," though it did not provide further details. "If you go back 20 years, it would have seemed laughable that this website with kids making parody videos would become a threat to Disney, ABC, and CBS," Benes said. Analysts consider Google's 2006 purchase of YouTube for US$1.65 billion in stock a pivotal moment, combining Google's search and advertising expertise with a video-sharing platform that had passionate users. Google used its advertising know-how to build a successful model, sharing revenue with creators who attracted significant audiences. The company enhanced technology and negotiated with studios to address copyright violations on what was once considered the Wild West of video content. The platform now competes with streaming services like Netflix, Disney, and Amazon Prime, as well as short-form video platforms like TikTok and Instagram's Reels. (AFP)

What's ‘extended' in new In the Mood for Love cinema special edition in 4K?

One of the most celebrated cinematic love stories of all time, Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love returns to Hong Kong cinemas this week in recognition of the film's 25th anniversary. Advertisement Presented in a brand new 4K restoration, this extended edition of the 2000 masterpiece boasts nine minutes of never-before-seen footage. It was previously screened in mainland China earlier this year to coincide with Valentine's Day. Widely regarded as a jewel in the crown of Hong Kong cinema, and Wong 's masterpiece, In the Mood for Love has endured rumour and scrutiny regarding different versions and deleted footage ever since it barely arrived in time for its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2000. Set in Hong Kong in 1962, the film tells the story of two married neighbours – immortalised on-screen by Hong Kong cinema legends Maggie Cheung Man-yuk and Tony Leung Chiu-wai at the height of their powers – who are steadily drawn to one another after discovering that their spouses are having an affair. Production took place across a gruelling 15-month shoot, during which time Wong accumulated hundreds of hours of footage, shot by cinematographers Christopher Doyle and Mark Lee Ping-bing.

Who is NFL punter Corey Bojorquez's low-key wife, Diana Wong? The Hawaiian former tennis player has spoken candidly on TikTok about being married to a pro athlete, but keeps her personal life private

For a long time, WAGs – an acronym for 'wives and girlfriends' of athletes – have been seen as living a glamorous life, with the media sharing details of how their rich other halves spoil them. Taylor Swift , Georgina Rodríguez and Victoria Beckham , although each talented and successful in their own right, are some of the most famous examples of WAGs. Corey Bojorquez and Diana Wong now have two children together. Photo: @coreybojo/Instagram Advertisement Swift's NFL boyfriend Travis Kelce spent over US$100,000 in gifts for her this Valentine's Day. For her 31st birthday last month, Rodríguez, who has been dating Cristiano Ronaldo since 2016, treated herself to a Hermès mini Kelly worth over US$32,000. And David Beckham has famously given his former Spice Girl wife, Victoria, 15 engagement rings over the years. However, Diana Wong has revealed it's not all glitz and glam for a WAG. Wong, who is married to Cleveland Browns American football player Corey Bojorquez, recently shared a TikTok video about the difficulties of being married to a professional athlete. 'Most girlies want to be WAGs until you realise you're alone every single weekend with the kids for 4.5 months straight,' Wong wrote over a video of her and her husband on the sidelines. Corey Bojorquez and Diana Wong have been married since 2021. Photo: @coreybojo/Instagram 'You never know what state or city you'll be moving to next [and] you almost never have family where you end up moving to so you never have a 'village'. Oh, let's not forget we spend holidays alone too because they have a game,' she continued. Here's everything to know about Corey Bojorquez's WAG, Diana Wong. She is from Hawaii
