Bilston strip club applies to council for new license
A strip club and adult cinema which closed temporarily in March has applied for a new licence.Foxy Lady in Oxford Street, Bilston, includes a sex shop, cinema and strip clubAndrea Parsons applied to City of Wolverhampton Council for a new sexual entertainment venue licence for the club, and the application asks for permission to open from midday to 06:00 BST every day.The authority said no objections had been made to the plans by any of the responsible authorities.
The council's regulatory committee will meet in Wolverhampton on 3 June to make a decision on the application.The club opened in the 1990s and was given a venue license by the council in 2005.Its opening hours were extended to 06:00 BST following a decision by the authority in 2012, despite objections from local councillors on behalf of several residents.They were concerned over added noise and traffic by extending the opening hours.A notice was placed on the club's entrance in March, saying it had closed temporarily.

The Voice UK have recruited a former X Factor judge to become the show's latest superstar coach. MailOnline can reveal Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland, 44, has signed up to the long running ITV show in replacement of LeAnn Rimes, 42, who quit this year after just one season. The Grammy Award-winning singer, who starred in the girlband alongside Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, is 'thrilled' to be the programme's latest addition after previously serving as a judge on The X Factor UK in 2011, as well as The Voice Australia. Kelly joins longtime panelists 50, and Tom Jones, 84, and McFly co-stars Danny Jones, and Tom Fletcher, both 39, who are all returning to the show when auditions begin in the UK this summer. Singer Kelly has had previously experience on a UK judging panel when she appeared with Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos on The X Factor, and two years later established herself on the US version of the show with music boss Simon Cowell. Not only famed for global hits Say My Name, Survivor, and Independent Woman with Destiny's Child, Kelly also celebrates a successful solo career with singles Dilemma, Stole, and Work. McDonald's takes second bite at Dumfries planning approval
Burger giant McDonald's has submitted fresh plans for a second drive-through restaurant in Dumfries after its original application was recommended for company said it had revised its £4m proposals off the town's Annan road which were withdrawn in December last said the new application should address the concerns which had been raised by Dumfries and Galloway Council planning previously recommended refusal of the bid due to its visual impact and the failure to demonstrate that a more "appropriate site" could not be found. Andrew Crewther, senior acquisitions surveyor with McDonald's, said the revised plans directly addressed those concerns."We explored alternative sites at the Peel Centre, but one is already earmarked for Costa, and the other has permission for a much smaller unit that doesn't meet our operational needs," he said."The application also responds to feedback from council officers by repositioning the building and adding new tree planting to help soften the development's appearance and create a buffer from the A75."Alongside delivering significant inward investment and creating 120 new local jobs, the new restaurant would also support more sustainable travel by improving local access to a McDonald's restaurant."The revised planning application will be considered by the council's planning committee in due course.
