Leeds: Woman killed in Alwoodley crash

A woman has died following a collision between a car and a pedestrian.The incident happened on Harrogate Road in Alwoodley, Leeds, at 12:29 GMT on Monday, according to West Yorkshire Police.The 81-year-old victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died a short time later.A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The incident happened between the junctions of Belvedere Road and Belvedere Avenue."The car had been travelling away from Wigton Lane/Alwoodley Lane junction towards the A6120," added the spokesperson.Police arrested the driver of a blue Skoda Rapid. Driver airlifted to hospital after two-car crash on A82

A driver has been airlifted to hospital after a two-car crash on the A82 in the Highlands. Police attended the scene of the crash around 10.50am on Friday involving a Skoda Rapid and a Peugeot 308 near Loch Ba. The 38-year-old male driver of the Skoda was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains in a serious condition. The 50-year-old male driver and 50-year-old male passenger of the Peugeot were not injured. The road was closed to allow for investigations and re-opened around 1.40pm. Constable Malcolm Cameron said: 'I would ask anyone who was travelling on the A82 near to Loch Ba around 10.50am on Friday, June 20 and saw the crash to contact us. 'Likewise, if you saw either car before the crash and have information which may assist our investigation, please get in touch. 'I'd also ask drivers who were in the area around that time with dash-cam footage to review this and get in touch.' Six held over Bedworth violent disorder

Six people including three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with police inquiries into violent disorder.A man who received hospital treatment for a head injury was since recovering at home following an incident on Pine Tree Road and Regent Street in Bedworth at about 19:20 BST on Friday, Warwickshire Police said. Three boys from Bedworth aged 15, 16 and 17, a 25-year-old man from Nuneaton and a 45-year-old Coventry man were all arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.A 42-year-old woman from Bedworth was held on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and violent disorder. They have all been bailed pending further inquiries. A number of weapons including a knuckle duster and a knife have been recovered from a white Audi as part of the investigation. Det Con Jon Shand said: "We're aware this event may have caused some community concern on Friday evening, but would like to reassure residents it is currently being treated as an isolated incident."
