India Explores Partners Beyond US to Build Fighter Jet Engines
India is engaging with manufacturers from at least three other countries for jointly making fighter jet engines, expanding its defense partnerships beyond the US as it seeks to close capability gaps amid rising regional tensions, according to people familiar with the matter.
The engines being considered are from the UK, France and Japan and India wants to start the project quickly, senior officials said, asking not to be named as discussions are private. The offers will be evaluated by the Defense Research and Development Organisation — India's military research body —they added.

According to an exclusive report from French outlet Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur made direct contact with Brentford head coach Thomas Frank during the week. Frank reportedly spoke with Tottenham about the project and summer transfer targets that he would be keen on securing. Foot Mercato writes that Frank is not the only manager on Tottenham's shortlist if Ange Postecoglou were to be sacked. However, he is one of the favourites. Manchester United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Matheus Cunha. The Athletic reported on May 27 Wolves had given Cunha, 26, permission to undergo a medical at United and the Brazil international has now become United's first arrival of the summer window. Cunha registered 17 goals in 36 matches in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign, the most productive season of his career, despite missing six games through suspension. He joined Wolves from RB Leipzig on loan in January 2023 before making the move permanent for £43m that summer. The forward signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal in February which runs until 2029. Cunha previously attracted interest from Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. Analysis by Mark Carey Pushing his temperament to one side for a moment, there is little doubt that Cunha has been Wolves' talisman this season. Having barely played as an out-and-out striker, a return of 15 Premier League goals shows how much he has shouldered the attacking responsibility to help his side stave off relegation. Analysis by Manchester United correspondent Laurie Whitwell Cunha's familiarity with that position behind the striker in a 3-4-2-1 formation enhances his appeal for United, who want adaptable players but also need new signings to hit the ground running. He terrorised Erik ten Hag's side when running from midfield on the opening day of the 2023-24 season and, of course, scored direct from a corner past Andre Onana at Molineux this term. There may be questions about temperament given his bans for reactions against Ipswich Town and Bournemouth, and his work off the ball at Wolves left some staff wanting more. But he has 12 and 15 Premier League goals in consecutive seasons, after getting two in 17 games while on loan for half a campaign, which is proof of his pedigree.
