"Pakistan's victim card is exposed now": JD (U) MP Sanjay Jha in Japan
Tokyo [Japan], May 23 (ANI): JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, who is leading a multi-party delegation to Japan and other East Asian countries as part of India's global outreach against terrorism, said on Friday that the delegation received strong support from Japanese lawmakers in the fight against terrorism.
During discussions with members of Japan's National Diet, Jha said that the delegation presented evidence, including photographs of Pakistani generals attending funerals of known terrorists.
While speaking with ANI, Jha said, 'We met many of the Japanese parliamentarians (members of the National Diet of Japan) today and everyone is supporting us in the fight against terrorism... We have shown them the photographs of how Pakistani generals attended the funerals of the terrorists.'
He added, 'Pakistan is completely exposed now, its 'victim card' is exposed now, the people worldwide understand Pakistan's state-sponsored terrorism. We have told them about the statement of the Pakistani Army chief, people here were not much aware of his 'pravachan' (preachings) on the two-nation theory.'
Meanwhile, sharing a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Japan said, 'All-Party Delegation from India interacted with the Japan-India Parliamentary Friendship League led by Chairman H.E. Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura. India's resolute stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism was conveyed. Members of the league expressed support for India's resolve to counter cross border terrorism.'

Earlier in the day, Sanjay Kumar Jha stated that India would make no distinction between terrorists and country which promoted them.
Speaking at an outreach event in Tokyo, Jha said, 'India, along with countries like Japan, have zero tolerance for terrorism. To implement this, India will not make any distinction hereafter between terrorists and the country that promotes them. We will not accept any nuclear blackmail. Any further terrorist incident will be met by India with resolute and decisive military action.'
He stated that the delegation had come together to convey the message that the fight against terrorism was not just or India, but for the entire world. He further stated that Japan was a special and strategic partner of India and both countries were bound by values of democracy and press freedom.
'The entire delegation has come together on one issue to convey our message to the world that the fight against terrorism is not only for India, it is for the entire world...I wish to affirm that Japan is a special and strategic partner of India, and both countries are bound by similar values such as democracy and press freedom. We had an extremely fruitful meeting with the Foreign Minister and former Prime Minister yesterday. Now we have just met the speaker of the Japanese Parliament. All of them have condemned the terrorist incident that took place in April in Jammu and Kashmir and have expressed solidarity with India. India is extremely grateful to Japan for this,' Jha said.
Jha and other delegates held a meeting with Japan's Former Defence Minister Minoru Kihara and Shinako Tsuchiya, Director General of the International Bureau, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
During the meeting, Members of Parliament reiterated India's strong resolve to fight every form of terrorism. (ANI)

During his earlier visit, Rahul Gandhi urged the need for a caste census, while highlighting the importance of social justice. Gandhi's current visit comes ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, where the ruling National Democratic Alliance , led by the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) and the BJP, the Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance) comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the INC, and other parties, are the main contenders. The last assembly elections were conducted in three phases from October to November 2020. The National Democratic Alliance secured 125 seats in the previous elections. The BJP won 74 seats, and the JD(U) obtained 43 seats. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan, consisting of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, secured 110 seats in the 243-seat legislative assembly.

Asif's goof While speaking on the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, Asif commented on the future of bilateral agreements between the two nations. 'Whether the Indus Waters Treaty is suspended or not, Simla is already over,' Asif remarked, reflecting Pakistan's frustration with India's decision to put the Indus Waters Treaty on hold. The remarks by Asif raised many questions about the validity of the 1972 agreement. The agreement between the Government of India and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Bilateral Relations, also known as the Simla Agreement, was signed in July 1972 between then-Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her Pakistani counterpart Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The agreement was signed following Pakistan's comprehensive defeat in the 1971 war, which eventually led to the independence of Bangladesh. The agreement was expected to lay the foundation of a peaceful and stable relationship between the two nations. The deal emphasises resolving issues between the two in a bilateral manner, superseding the UN's resolution on Kashmir. The fact that there has been only a limited war since the agreement was signed reflects its effectiveness. The agreement stressed that nations go back to the Line of Control (LoC) and respect the region. Tensions between India and Pakistan have been all-time high since the Pahalgam terror attack rocked a tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people. Judicial Custody Of Tahawwur Rana Extended, Court Seeks Health Report From Tihar Authorities

Delhi's Patiala Court on Friday extended the judicial custody of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the main accused in the deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, till July 9. Rana was produced before the court via video conferencing at the end of his earlier custody period and Special Judge Chander Jit Singh passed the order. The court hearing raised concerns about Rana's health while in judicial custody. In response, Judge Jit Singh instructed Tihar authorities to submit a status report on the individual's health by June 9. During the hearing, Tahawwur Rana personally addressed the court, requesting a hearing aid due to a medical issue affecting his ears. The same court has scheduled a hearing for June 9 to consider Rana's plea for permission to communicate with his family members while in judicial custody. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently obtained voice and handwriting samples from Rana, who was extradited to India from the US. He provided handwriting specimens by writing various alphabets and numerical characters. Advocate Piyush Sachdev, his legal aid counsel, confirmed that Rana fully complied with the court's directive to submit these samples. The Special NIA Court has previously allowed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to obtain voice and handwriting samples of 26/11 mastermind Tahawwur Rana. The 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, perpetrated by 10 Pakistani terrorists, claimed 166 lives in a nearly 60-hour siege targeting iconic sites like the Taj and Oberoi hotels, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and Nariman House, a Jewish centre.
