Royal Family Honors a British Icon by Sharing an Adorable Throwback Photo of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, & Prince Louis
The royal family is understandably celebrating one of the United Kingdom's most legendary icons on his birthday. And it's not just any birthday. Today, Sir David Attenborough turns 99 years old. The renowned wildlife documentarian and conservationist is being celebrated worldwide (he even got a shoutout from the Irwin family matriarch!), and the second in line to the British throne was quick to show his love.
'As he turns 99 today, in his new film, Sir David has once again reminded us of the need to protect natural habitats — this time those beneath the ocean,' Prince William captioned a carousel on Instagram. 'He has dedicated his life to ensuring we understand the realities of what mankind is doing to the planet.'

The Prince of Wales started the carousel with a candid of him and Attenborough smiling together. He then shared the most precious throwback from Kensington Palace. Prince William and Kate Middleton were in the gardens with Attenborough and their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The shot was taken in 2020, and the kids — now 11, 10, and 7, respectively — look so stinkin' cute! They are coordinating in blue outfits. Prince George has a hint of a smile on his face as he plays with the tooth of a giant shark that Attenborough gave him. Charlotte looks just darling in her blue and white dress and matching shoes. Her head rests in her hands as she smiles up at the famed broadcaster. Middleton can't help but smile down at her daughter (with whom she is twinning, of course!), and Prince Louis is so adorable in his collared sweater, shorts, and tall socks. (Yes, this throwback is from before he was allowed to break royal tradition and make the 'suburban' move toward pants.)
'However hard-hitting his message is, Sir David always leaves us with a sense of hope and optimism that all is not lost and this film is no different,' Prince William continued. 'We must act together, with urgency, to restore our oceans.'

The wind hitting him, and the blast of the propeller, particles hitting him. It was the hardest workout you could ever do, it was very dangerous and very exhausting for him. Many times we were carrying him off the wing because he was so tired. And he was flying all day.' Eastwood has worked alongside Cruise since 2013 when they met on the set of Edge of Tomorrow. Eastwood said of Cruise's appetite for risk and doing his own stunts: 'Tom doesn't show fear, Tom shows competence. He had fun during all his stunts, even when it was exhausting. He's always positive, he'll always put on a smile, and he genuinely enjoys it.' Eastwood has served as stunt coordinator on the last four Mission:Impossible films and recalls his favourite moment of all, which came in the seventh film Dead Reckoning Part One – Cruise rode off a cliff-edge on a motorbike. Eastwood revealed that the actor had trained for over a year in motocross and skydiving to perform the stunt, which involved more than 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps. Asked if Cruise would soon retire from such physical demands, Eastwood demurred: 'No, no chance. He's a machine. He acts like a 20-year-old. And there's no magic there, it's just hard work and discipline with his food, nutrition and training.' ‘Ballerina' Hopes To Tiptoe Past $30M U.S., $60M WW As ‘Lilo & Stitch' Continues To Bigfoot
Whether or not Lionsgate's John Wick spinoff Ballerina clears or falls under $30M this weekend in U.S./Canada, consider the win in favor of exhibition, which will have that much more money in the marketplace. The Ana de Armas action movie from director Len Wiseman also is bowing in 82 countries in what's expected to be another $30M, for a global take around $60M. That offshore cash would be on par with the start of John Wick: Chapter 3 in 2019. Lionsgate is self-distributing in the UK and Latin America. One tracking service shows that first choice is best with men over 25, yet 40% behind Furiosa in the same demo. Lionsgate has a master plan, as unveiled at CinemaCon, to build out the John Wick franchise even more than it already is (an animated prequel, a Donnie Yen-directed movie about blind assassin Caine), with Ballerina being another cog in the wheel. There's already been the Peacock series The Continental. Critics generally love John Wick movies, with the pics ranging from 86% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes to Chapter 4's franchise high of 94% certified fresh. There are fan screenings today starting at 7 p.m. for the R-rated Ballerina, with more previews starting at 6 p.m. Thursday. What else is going on this weekend? With a continued grip on Imax, Paramount's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is eyeing around $15M in weekend 3, -45%. The running cume stands at $129.3M. Sony's second weekend of Karate Kid: Legends is eyeing around $10M, -51%. The movie through Tuesday counts $24.1M. Last weekend, the Cannes-debuting movie posted the best opening theater average of the year with $93,4K. By comparison, Asteroid City did $9M two Junes ago in its wide break second weekend on 1,675 theaters. No Rotten Tomatoes audience score yet. IFC has the Australian shark movie Dangerous Animals, which it world premiered in Directors' Fortnight at Cannes to 88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with film reviewers. The Sean Byrne-directed final-girl movie starring Jai Courtney and Yellowstone's Hassie Harrison follows a shark tour guide who feeds his passengers to the sharks. Booked at 1,600 theaters, expect a start in low-single-digit range. IFC's Clown in the Cornfield opened to $3.6M and currently counts $7.2M. Neon's acquisition , which won the People's Choice Award at TIFF, is going out in 16 theaters and eight markets. From writer-director Mike Flanagan and based on the short story by Stephen King, the pic follows three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz, played by Tom Hiddleston. Rotten Tomatoes reviews stand at 88% fresh. ‘Lilo & Stitch' Nears $800M Global, ‘Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning' Tops $450M & ‘Ballerina' Bows To $51M WW
Updated: Disney's Lilo & Stitch continued to sew up strong business in its third weekend, with the global cume now at $772.6M as it closes in on $800M WW in the coming days. The international box office tally through Sunday is $436.8M after a $67.7M offshore frame (-47%). Paramount/Skydance's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, meanwhile, has topped $450M worldwide with $450.4M through today. The offshore hold was also -47%, with another $40.6M contributing to the running $301.2M international box office. The Ana de Armas-starrer, which is largely funded from foreign sales, came in below pre-weekend projections with $26M in 82 offshore markets for a $51M global debut. The top overseas starts on the Len Wiseman-directed actioner are China ($3M), UK ($2.5M) and Mexico ($1.9M) – in each of those markets, the film was the No. 1 new opener. Lionsgate self-distributes in the UK and Latin America. Ballerina will release in Japan and Italy in the weeks ahead; already on Tuesday, it opens Sicily's Taormina Film Festival. Turning back to Lilo & Stitch, the No. 2 studio release of the year overseas, it's still the No. 1 non-local film in all material markets across Europe (save Finland and Norway) and everywhere in Latin America. Japan was new this session, and is the final market to join the party. It opened No. 1 there with $4M to rep the 3rd highest opening for a studio title in 2025 to date, just 2% below A Minecraft Movie. Elsewhere, it is the highest grossing film of the year in France, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Mexico, among others. Here are the Top 5 to date: Mexico ($56.8M), UK ($42.2M), France ($30.4M), Brazil ($28.2M) and Germany ($23.7M). In Mission: Impossible news, the Tom Cruise-starrer's 66 markets this weekend were led by China where it was No. 1 for the second frame in a row. The total there is now $47.5M with Maoyan predicting a $62M finish. It's easily the biggest Hollywood movie of the year so far there. The current Top 5 is rounded out by the UK ($27.8M), Japan ($23.4M), Korea ($20.5M) and France ($17.7M). In Imax, M:I 8 has grossed $69.1M globally which reps a franchise-best 15.3% of the overall global total for the Filmed For Imax movie. The international cume in the format is $38M. Also in holdover play, Sony's Karate Kid: Legends added $10M in 57 overseas markets for a $38.6M offshore cume and $74M global to date. Spain, France and Japan open in August. And, New Line/Warner Bros' Final Destination Bloodlines also saw a 47% drop, adding another $8.1M from 75 markets for an offshore cume of $133.6M and a global take of $257.2M. Also of note, Universal's live-action take on How to Train Your Dragon began previews this weekend in Korea, leading all play and grossing $4M through three days. It is off to a great start there and has a fantastic 99% CGV Egg score.
