Lakeland man arrested in deadly shooting stemming from argument over stolen gun: Police
The Brief
A Lakeland man was arrested for first-degree murder after shooting and killing a man at a convenience store.
Detectives said he shot and killed a man who worked at his house a few weeks before the shooting.
They said the suspect believed the victim stole a gun from him during that time.
LAKELAND, Fla. - A suspect was arrested Thursday after a deadly shooting at a Lakeland convenience store, officers said.
The Lakeland Police Department said Ricardo Zelidon, 59, was arrested after the shooting, which happened before 5 a.m. at the Fast Stop convenience store, which is located at 820 East Memorial Boulevard.

After arriving at the scene, police said they found Zelidon behind his vehicle with his hands up and the victim, 45-year-old Jessie Woullard inside his vehicle with gunshot wounds. Woullard was taken to Lakeland Regional Health, but was pronounced dead, according to officials.
Detectives said they learned Zelidon was at the Fast Stop for several minutes before Woullard arrived. Once the victim pulled into a parking space, Zelidon is accused of pulling up behind his vehicle, blocking him from leaving. Woullard tried to back out, but he wasn't able to, authorities said.

The suspect got out of his vehicle carrying a gun and wearing a ballistic vest, and got into a short argument with Woullard. That's when Zelidon opened Woullard's door and shot him twice, according to investigators.
The suspect retreated back to his vehicle and waited for police to arrive.

LPD officials said they learned Zelidon paid Woullard to work at his home a few weeks ago and believed Woullard stole a gun during that time.
Zelidon was arrested for first-degree murder. The investigation into the shooting remains active.

Hillsborough County deputies make arrests in shooting that injured teen
The Brief Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have made arrests in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. Detectives said they found evidence connected to the shooting inside a bedroom belonging to a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. A 38-year-old man was also arrested for driving with a suspended license when deputies said they found him driving the vehicle linked to the suspected shooter. PROGRESS VILLAGE, Fla. - Two teenage felons have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. The backstory According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, deputies went to the area of South 81st Street and Fir Drive shortly before 12:40 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. When they pulled the vehicle over, deputies said the driver, Antonio House, 38, was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. According to HCSO, a Glock .40 caliber handgun recovered from inside the home was ballistically matched to the casings recovered at the scene of the shooting. The HCSO Firearms Laboratory conducted the analysis and confirmed the connection between the gun and the crime scene. Both were taken into custody. The 17-year-old has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and resisting an officer without violence. Menomonee Falls FedEx gunfire, man charged with attempted homicide
The Brief Prosecutors said a man shot at a manager at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility. The 19-year-old is now charged with attempted homicide and misdemeanor battery. Court filings said the gunfire stemmed from an argument and fight. MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. - A man is accused of attempted homicide after prosecutors say he shot at a manager during a fight at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility on Monday. In Court Prosecutors charged 19-year-old DeAnthony Leflore with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and misdemeanor battery. His bond was set at $200,000 on Friday. A criminal complaint states callers reported Leflore had fired a gun, but no one was shot. When police got there, court filings said a security worker informed them that Leflore was no longer in the facility's gated area. It was unclear where Leflore went, and officers searched for but did not find him. What they're saying Prosecutors said a manager told investigators that Leflore arrived at the facility around 2:30 a.m. – an hour before his shift – and was unable to scan his badge and get inside. He was told to go home because he wasn't allowed to start early. Leflore later made a comment that the manager took "to mean (Leflore) was going to shoot her," per the complaint, before he left. The manager then told security not to let him in "because of his escalating behavior." The victim said she then heard gunshots as she ran, but she was not hit. The complaint states police found a bullet casing and some of Leflore's hair, which was ripped out during the struggle, at the scene. A security worker said he saw the fight and saw Leflore holding a gun with a laser sight that "appeared" to be pointed at the victim. He heard one gunshot and called 911. Additional witnesses also said they saw Leflore with a gun. Surveillance video showed the fight, according to court filings, during which Leflore went to the fence line and picked up what appeared to be a gun before pointing it at the victim. One gunshot was heard as everyone ran from the area. Additional video showed Leflore walking away with a gun "clearly" tucked in the front of his waistband.
