
Petrol station Peeping Tom arrested
Police arrested a man after a video was widely-shared showing him peeping into the women's toilet at a petrol station.
PETALING JAYA : A man has been arrested following a viral video of him entering and peeping into a women's toilet at a petrol station in Seberang Jaya, Penang, earlier this month.
Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Helmi Aris confirmed that a report was lodged over the incident, which took place at about 6.20am on May 5.
'The suspect has been arrested and a remand application will be made at the Bukit Mertajam magistrates' court tomorrow,' he said in a statement.
He added that investigations are being held for insulting a person's modesty and for insulting behaviour.
A viral video of the incident showed the suspect entering the women's toilet and lying on the ground to peep into one of the cubicles before he fled.

In the final tomorrow, the two-time Olympic bronze medallists will meet the world No 10 South Korean pair of Seo Seung Jae-Kim Won Ho who saw off Denmark's Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in the other semi-final match. Aaron-Wooi Yik have met the South Korean pair only once, at the India Open in January where the Malaysians lost in the semi-final. Tomorrow's match will be the Malaysian pair's third consecutive final in the World Tour series. Aaron-Wooi Yik will be hoping to create a personal record of winning three tournaments in a year, after capturing the Badminton Asia Championship title in April and Thailand Open crown two weeks ago. At the Malaysian Masters last week, the duo lost in the final to compatriots Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun.

Former indie candidate ‘Cleopatra' applies to join PAS

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Nur Fathiah Syazwana Shaharuddin, one of the independent candidates who contested for the Batu parliamentary seat in the 2022 general election, has applied to join PAS. The PAS women's wing said Nur Fathiah, better known as Cleopatra, submitted her membership application form today at the Islamic party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The wing said Nur Fathiah, a single mother, wanted to join PAS for the sake of her children's future. 'Besides being known as an activist who does humanitarian work and founded the NGO, Hetero Action Women Alliance, she is also a social media influencer who's an important voice in championing community development and social issues,' it said in a Facebook post. Nur Fathiah was among 10 candidates who took part in the race for the hotly-contested seat of Batu during GE15. A total of four independent candidates had contested, with the remaining candidates coming from Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional, Pejuang, Warisan and Parti Rakyat Malaysia. Nur Fathiah obtained only 628 votes, behind fellow independent candidate, lawyer-activist Siti Kasim, while P Prabarakan of PKR retained the seat with a comfortable majority of 22,241 votes.

Cops probe row between two drivers at toll plaza
Police said a rear-end collision led to an argument, property damage, as well as allegations of physical assault and criminal intimidation. NIBONG TEBAL : Police have received two reports regarding an altercation involving two men at the Bukit Tambun toll plaza here, after a video of the incident went viral today. Seberang Perai Selatan police chief Jay January Siowou said further investigations are ongoing while they are tracking down the suspects involved. 'The incident involved a rear-end collision which led to an argument, property damage, as well as allegations of physical assault and criminal intimidation by one of the men involved,' he said in a statement. The viral video showed the two men arguing at the RFID lane of the toll plaza when one of them, who was only wearing a sarong and cap, appeared to attempt to attack the other man with a weapon. Another man could then be seen stepping in to defuse the situation.
