Who is Eurovision 2025 host Michelle Hunziker? All you need to know about glamorous model, 47, who was 'brainwashed by cult' and has famous ex as she prepares to present final in Basel
The final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest hits our screens on Saturday evening and will be hosted by Michelle Hunziker.
The 48-year-old model, who was born in Switzerland and acquired Italian citizenship when she tied the knot with Eros Ramazzotti, 61, will be joined by Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, for the grand final of the 69th edition of the contest.
Viewers will be able to watch the last instalment of the competition from 8:00pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
But have you ever wondered how Michelle Hunziker shot into fame?
The Swiss and Italian TV presenter shot to fame in the 90s and over the years has played herself and taken on characters in various productions.
She's starred in a number of films, including The Protagonists, Alex l'ariete, Madagascar, Natale a Rio and Amore nero.
Some TV programmes include I misteri di Cascina Vianello, La forza dell'amore, Love Bugs and Idol x Warrior Miracle Tunes.
She's also presented and been a contestant in Buona Domenica, Superstar, Telegatto, All Together Now and Striscia la notizia.
Over the years she's been married a number of times.
Her first marriage was to Italian pop star Eros. The pair were married between 1998 and 2002. The two share one daughter called Aurora, 28.
During the time that they were together she joined a sect called Warriors of Light, which saw members follow a vegan diet and not drink, smoke, have sex or masturbate.
Michelle, who was 20 at the time of joining, was a member for five years after meeting a therapist called Clelia.
They grew close after she helped Eros feel better after having a sore throat.
The star opened up about it all in her 2018 autobiography A Seemingly Perfect Life.
Michelle wrote: 'Before the meetings we had to shower and put on white clothes.
'We always had to take off our shoes on the threshold.
'Then we had to wash our hands again and sit in circles on the sofas or cross-legged on the floor before starting the sessions of lying down or meditating.'
Michelle grew close with the therapist and said: 'According to Clelia, sexuality was an animalistic instinct and therefore dirty and low.
'We had to lift that instinct to a higher level, sublimate it, and turn it into inner energy.'
She left Warriors of Light when she was 25.
MailOnline reported back in 2018 that she had blamed their divorce on the cult and they tried to convince her that he was a bad influence.
Michelle later married Tomaso Trussardi, 42, in 2014. The former couple divorced in 2022. Their marriage produced tow daughters Sole, 12, and Celeste, 10.
Michelle took to her Instagram to update 5.8m fans with what she's up to ahead of Eurovision.
Sharing a selfie of herself pouting, she wrote: 'First day in Basel.'
A video of herself at the Eurovision headquarters was posted in the next story.
The UK will see Inside Remember Monday, which is made up of Holly-Anne Hull, Charlotte Steele and Lauren Byrne, battle it out for the top spot in the singing competition.
The last time the UK won the competition was when Since Katrina & The Waves won in 1997.
The girl group from Farnborough, Hampshire, have entered their song What The Hell Just Happened? for this year's competition.
Speaking ahead of their big performance, they said: 'Today is the first time we've felt a little bit anxious because it's real now.'
Meanwhile Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa has had to pull out of the 2025 Eurovision final due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.
The actor was due to be the UK's spokesperson, but Sophie Ellis-Bextor will now take his place.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May.

Top of the Pops presenter who was as famous as Zoe Ball on 'what went wrong'
Sarah Cawood was a regular face on our TV screens in the 1990s, but now she's living a very different life away from the cameras Sarah Cawood was one of the biggest TV hosts of the '90s and a key presenter on Top of The Pops. But her life has changed dramatically two decades after her big break. Sarah's first major role was in children's television for Nickelodeon in the '90s, and just two years later she secured a presenting job on Channel 4's The Girlie Show alongside Sara Cox. The programme ran for two series and followed a magazine format, featuring interviews, live music and stunts. The show aired at the late 'post-pub' slot of 11pm on Fridays, aiming to be edgier than its competitors and capitalising on the 'ladette' culture that defined the decade. She then joined the revamped Live and Kicking programme for its final two years on air. Her most significant role came when she landed a spot on Top of The Pops. After her stint ended, she went on to present various mini-series and one-offs, including co-commentating the Eurovision semi-finals in 2007, 2009 and 2010. However, around this time, many of the big presenting opportunities began to dwindle, with Sarah joining Heart East Anglia's breakfast show team for a year in 2014 before leaving to focus on caring for her children, reports the Daily Record. In 2022 Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer - but thankfully she was treated and given the all-clear. Earlier this year, the star opened up about her health struggles on social media, expressing fears about her breast cancer returning. "This is the reality of anyone who has had any kind of cancer," she said. "I never struggled with health anxiety before but post-breast cancer it's all-consuming and it wears me out a bit tbh. "I have been feeling tired since the new year began and although it's probably just life-ing, there's always a niggling worry that it's back. "All I can do is carry on doing healthy things, moving my body, practising mindfulness and living each day with gratitude that I got to breathe again this morning. "So on we go! Batting away those intrusive thoughts and getting on with it. To anyone either going through a cancer diagnosis or anyone who has recovered from cancer and feels like this: I've got you, and my inbox is always open. "And remember, anything that doesn't feel right: get it checked out. Early detection is key." Reflecting on her television career in another heartfelt Instagram message, she shared insights into her acceptance of being 'unsuccessful' on TV, adding: "Do I miss telly? I miss the money! And yes, sometimes I wonder what went wrong, but I'm here now so I'm going to make the most of it, however, that looks".

ITV Good Morning Britain viewers concerned for host Richard Madeley minutes into ITV show
Fans all said the same thing about Richard Madeley's appearance on Good Morning Britain. Good Morning Britain fans expressed their concerns over Richard Madeley 's appearance just minutes into the ITV show airing on Wednesday morning. On the programme Richard and his co-presenter Susanna Reid discussed the latest headlines from across the UK and around the world. Talk turned to the serious disorder in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, as well as the Chancellor Rachel Reeves' upcoming spending review. After Martin Lewis' winter fuel scam warnings on Tuesday, the pair also showed viewers what to do to prevent becoming a victim. However, viewers were left distracted just minutes into the show as Richard had a sore throat, with Susanna quickly sharing her "concern" for her co-star. "I'm a bit concerned we're going to lose you through the programme," Susanna said to Richard, who pointed to his throat and replied: "What, this thing?" He added: "I think it'll get stronger through the programme. That's my prediction." Richard then said that he had been given some honey and water, and assured viewers that he'd be feeling better tomorrow. "If it's annoying you, I'm really sorry. Tomorrow it'll be better," he said. After tuning into the programme, fans flocked to social media to share their concern for Richard, with many questioning why ITV bosses didn't just replace him for the day. "Why on earth have you let Richard take the chair today when he can hardly talk?" one person wrote. Another added: "Richard Madeley sounds like Daddy Pig this morning," while a third said: "Richard's ill, should have replaced him today." A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "Richard's voice is so hoarse." This is Richard's second health mishap this week as he revealed that he had sustained a double wrist fracture while in France over the weekend. Elsewhere on today's show, Richard and Susanna spoke to the UK's Eurovision entry, Remember Monday, who reflected on their time in Basel, Switzerland last month. The hosts also interviewed Reform UK's new chairman, David Bull, after he replaced Zia Yusuf, who quit the role last week following a clash with one of the party's MPs. ITV has been making significant reshuffling of its daytime TV line-up which will see GMB extended and Lorraine cut to half an hour. The 69-year-old presenter reportedly earns £300,000 per annum for his appearance on the breakfast programme. Richard seems to have successfully negotiated a new agreement with the broadcasters that will see him go part-time and drop down his salary. Nonetheless, Richard wasn't alone in facing potential dismissal as part of ITV's dramatic "bloodbath" shake-up of its daytime shows. Scots presenter Lorraine Kelly also found herself at risk and in it's been reported that she was "asked to retire" but rebuffed the idea.
