Russell Brand to appear in court charged with rape and sex assault after arriving back in UK
RUSSELL Brand is to appear in court this morning charged with sexual offences, including rape.
A limo was seen leaving his Berkshire home - with the star understood to be hidden in the backseat.

The comedian and actor, 49, flew in from Florida in the US yesterday and will appear before Westminster magistrates later today.
Brand was spotted being chauffeur driven this morning from his Berkshire home.
The star was charged by post last month with one count each of rape, indecent assault and oral rape, as well as two counts of sexual assault, relating to four separate women.
A probe was launched into the 49-year-old after he was accused of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse by several women in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches in September 2023.
In a video posted on X after he was charged, the comedian said: "I am now going to have the opportunity to defend these charges in court and I'm incredibly grateful for that."
He was also issued with a court summons.
In a video referencing the court case posted on social media on Thursday, Brand - who is understood to be living in the US - said he welcomed the opportunity to prove his innocence and was "going to (his) country right now".
Brand is charged with the rape of a woman in 1999 in the Bournemouth area and the oral rape and sexual assault of a woman in 2004 in the Westminster area of London.
The 2004 sexual assault charge alleges the actor touched the woman's breasts without her consent.
He is also accused of indecently assaulting a woman in 2001 by "grabbing her arm and dragging her towards a male toilet" and sexually assaulting another woman between 2004 and 2005 - both offences are alleged to have taken place in Westminster, London.
Brand, who presented a BBC Radio 2 show between 2006 and 2008, left the role after his on-air prank, now known as Sachsgate, when he left a "lewd" voicemail for Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs about his granddaughter.
He also presented on Big Brother spin-off shows Big Brother's Big Mouth and Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack in the noughties.
The TV and film star was married to US pop singer Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012 but is now married to Laura Gallacher, the sister of presenter Kirsty, and the pair have two children, Mabel and Peggy.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has left fans red-faced after getting candid with his son about filming nude scenes. The legendary action star, 77, sat down with son Patrick, 31, for a wide-ranging interview that covered everything from nepotism, Terminator, and the drive to become the biggest star of all time. Yet it's Arnie's comments about Patrick's full frontal scene in The White Lotus season 3 that have left fans aghast. After weeks of intense speculation, Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins have unequivocally put the feud rumours to bed. The White Lotus co-stars who played doomed lovers Chelsea and Rick in season three of the hit HBO series saw the high-stakes drama of the fictional Thailand resort bleed into real life after fans started wondering if there was a rift between the pair. I'll be on an island, I think Greece. But she's special. There is no feud. 'She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.' And explained that he would 'never' speak for both of them, hence he didn't discuss the issue with The Times. Specifically, Walton claimed that The Times interviewer had tried to compare his and Aimee's teeth and asked if they had bonded over them on set, which left him 'disgusted and flabbergasted'. Aimee echoed the shock, saying: 'How horrible!' The 31-year-old star then said Instagram was 'irrelevant' and neither of them 'gave a s***e', encouraging people to discuss the show's storyline and characters instead. 'Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing,' Aimee added while Walton called himself a 'grown-a** man'.
