Search and rescue teams dispatched to Monongahela River in Donora

A search and rescue operation is underway along the Monongahela River in Donora, Washington County.
A Washington County 911 official reported that a call for a possible drowning came in just before 11 a.m. Saturday, near the Donora-Monessen Bridge, adding that the Donora Fire Company is leading the search with several area agencies, and sonar technology is being deployed to assist those on the scene.
Crews were actively searching for a child, the 911 official added.

UPDATE (6/10 11:15 a.m.): Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials have identified the man whose body was recovered from Wolf Bay near Sapling Point on Sunday, June 8. 55-year-old Dewayne N. Stephens of Orange Beach went missing around 3:45 p.m. Sunday after he jumped in the water off of a 2023 Bentley Legacy 200 Cruise pontoon boat. Stephens' body was recovered around 10:15 p.m. near where he entered the water. UPDATE (3:40 p.m.): News 5 is learning more about a drowning in Wolf Bay that left a man dead. Orange Beach Police Department officials said they, along with the marine police, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Alabama Marine Resources and the Orange Beach Fire Department were called to Wolf Bay around 4 p.m. on June 8 for a report of a swimmer in distress. Officers arrived and said they were able to find that the man jumped off his boat and did not come back out from under the water. OBPD officials said they were not able to find the man when they arrived, but that Daphne Search and Rescue was eventually able to locate and recover his body with the help of other agencies. PREVIOUS REPORTING BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A body has been recovered in Wolf Bay, has learned. According to law enforcement, a 55-year-old man jumped from a boat into the bay.
