Here are Jefferies' top stock picks for the summer
As a new trading month kicks off, analysts from Jefferies shared their top stock picks heading into the summer. Uncertainty over tariff policy was the theme that dominated markets to start the year. But stocks saw a rebound in May, with the S & P 500 adding 6.2% and posting its best month since November 2023. Investors are divided on where the market could go from here. On the more optimistic end, Fundstrat Global Advisors' Tom Lee said that the April sell-off has " rebirthed the new bull market ." But Evercore's Julian Emanuel seemed less certain, pointing to historical records suggesting that investors may have to contend with some rocky times ahead . With trade uncertainty likely to be at the forefront of investors' minds going forward, Jefferies' top stock picks seem "ready for sunshine or rainclouds," the firm wrote in a Tuesday note. Jefferies shared 28 of its top buy-rated, highest-conviction ideas that "are underpinned by differentiated analysis, supported by catalysts and sit at valuation levels that suggest upside." The table below lists 10 of these picks: One of the names on Jefferies' list was Nvidia . Shares of the chipmaker are up 5% this year. Jefferies' price target of $185 implies a further upside of 31%. "We view NVDA as the dominant supplier of AI accelerators within the data center, an industry that is expanding rapidly due to the development and adoption of AI," the firm wrote. "The ramp of the co's next-generation Blackwell GPU platform is now fully underway, so [ gross margins ] should improve from the low-70% to mid-70% range throughout the year." Dexcom , the maker of glucose monitoring systems, was another name on Jefferies' list. Shares have risen 11% in 2025. The bank's price target of $110 corresponds to an upside of nearly 27%. "We think DXCM is about to capitalize on a major top-line driver as it looks to expand coverage to Type 2 non-insulin (NIT2) patients," Jefferies wrote. The company has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its 15-day glucose monitoring sensor , and "the conversion to 15-day sensors could be a significant margin driver," the firm said. Jefferies also singled out Capital One as another winner. The bank's price target of $230 is nearly 18% above where shares settled on Tuesday afternoon. The firm cited Capital One's recent acquisition of Discover Financial Services as a major catalyst for the company. "Merger with DFS has been completed, unlocking significant network and OPEX synergies. Additional items that provide conviction on the name are improving credit trends within the COF/DFS books, leading to potentially higher net interest margin coupled with reserve releases," the firm wrote. Shares of Capital One have rallied more than 9% this year.

Airbus shares gain on report China may order hundreds of its aircraft
-- Shares of French aircraft manufacturer Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose over 3% in morning trade on Wednesday on report that China is considering a large aircraft order, which could be finalized as early as next month. Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that discussions are currently ongoing with Chinese airlines to determine the size of the potential order. Shares were up 3.5% at EUR 172.30 as of 08:09 GMT. The deal could encompass around 300 aircraft, including both narrow-body and wide-body models, the report added. One person familiar with the matter suggested that the order could range from 200 to possibly 500 aircraft, depending on the outcome of the negotiations. The latest development coincides with a visit from European leaders to Beijing, aimed at celebrating the enduring relationship between the two regions. In a note, Jefferies said that while Airbus' order backlog and focus on execution reduce the immediate importance of new orders, potential deals with China still carry weight. The firm noted that a large A330neo order was rumored ahead of last year's Farnborough Airshow but never materialized. According to Jefferies, if the current talks lead to a deal, it could come with substantial down payments, similar to China's 2022 A320neo order, and would also benefit Rolls-Royce (OTC:RYCEY) if wide-body aircraft are included. Negotiations are ongoing and could take more time to conclude, with the outcome still uncertain and the possibility that talks may collapse, the Bloomberg report noted. 3D Systems collaborates with Penn State, ASU researchers on NASA projects
3D Systems (DDD) is collaborating with researchers from Penn State University and Arizona State University on two projects sponsored by the National Aeronautics & Space Administration intended to enable ground-breaking alternatives to current thermal management solutions. Severe temperature fluctuations in space can damage sensitive spacecraft components, resulting in mission failure. By combining deep applications expertise with 3D Systems' leading additive manufacturing solutions comprising Direct Metal Printing technology and tailored materials and Oqton's 3DXpert software, the teams are engineering sophisticated thermal management solutions for the demands of next-generation satellites and space exploration. The project led by researchers with Penn State University, Arizona State University, and the NASA Glenn Research Center1 in collaboration with 3D Systems' Application Innovation Group has resulted in processes to build embedded high-temperature passive heat pipes in heat rejection radiators that are additively manufactured in titanium. These heat pipe radiators are 50% lighter per area with increased operating temperatures compared with current state-of-the-art radiators, allowing them to radiate heat more efficiently for high power systems. Additionally, a project led by researchers at Penn State University and NASA Glenn Research Center with 3D Systems' AIG yielded a process to additively manufacture one of the first functional parts using nickel titanium shape memory alloys that can be passively actuated and deployed when heated. This passive shape memory alloy radiator is projected to yield a deployed-to-stowed area ratio that is 6x larger than currently available solutions, enabling future high-power communications and science missions in restricted CubeSat volume. When deployed on spacecraft, such as satellites, these radiators can raise operating power levels and reduce thermal stress on sensitive components, preventing failures and prolonging satellite lifespan.
