Post Office choir delivers moving BGT performance
A Worthing singer delivered a moving performance on ITV's Britain's Got Talent alongside a choir made up of people directly affected by the Post Office Horizon scandal.
The 40-strong choir, Hear Our Voice, sang a rendition of "Falling Down" written and led by Will Rendle, of Will and the People
The performance earned a standing ovation from the audience and the judges on Saturday.
One of the choir members, Teju Adedayo, who ran a Post Office in Gillingham, Kent, told BBC Breakfast her voice had been "suppressed for a very long time".
In 2006, Ms Adedayo was convicted of false accounting and given a 50-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
Her conviction was overturned in 2021.
She told BBC Breakfast that before the performance, she "chickened out" because her "nerves were all over the place" but then decided "let's just do it".
She said: I wanted to release the stress that we have all been put under.
"I'm grateful we are all standing together."
In a statement, the Post Office said it was "deeply sorry for the suffering caused to so many people by Post Office's past actions".
It said it acknowledged that victims of the scandal needed answers, as well as justice and redress.
A spokesperson said: "The business failed to put postmasters first, did not listen to postmasters, and did not act on concerns postmasters raised with us.
"We are doing all we can to help get victims answers, including fully co-operating with police investigations to help try to put things right."
Fujitsu Group, which developed the software Horizon, said it offered its deepest apologies to the sub-postmasters and their families.
Its spokesperson added: "Fujitsu Europe's boss has previously said that the firm has a 'moral obligation' to contribute to compensation for sub-postmasters wrongly prosecuted as a result of its faulty IT software."

Laurence Fox could face trial in 2027 over upskirting photo of TV star
Laurence Fox could face trial in 2027 over allegations he shared a compromising photo of TV star Narinder Kaur on social media. The actor-turned-activist is alleged to have shared a compromising image in a tweet posted in April 2024 of Kaur, 52, who appears regularly on Good Morning Britain and has previously appeared on GB News. Ms Kaur, who has waived her right to anonymity, sat in the public gallery at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday as Fox, of Peldon in Essex, appeared charged with two counts under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The 47-year-old defendant is accused of sharing a photograph of a person's genitals 'intending that the person or another person would see the genitals, and for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, and being reckless as to whether that person would be caused alarm, distress or humiliation' in the first count. The second count alleges he shared a photograph which showed, or appeared to show, 'another person in an intimate state, with the intention of causing that person alarm, distress or humiliation'. The court hearing on Thursday was listed for plea and trial preparation but Fox, who was wearing a white shirt and grey blazer with jeans, was not asked to enter any pleas. A provisional trial with a time estimate of four days was set for December 6 2027 at the same court, with Fox granted bail to appear for a further case management hearing on November 14 this year. Sarah Forshaw KC, defending, asked the court if it would be possible to look at whether other venues may be able to accommodate an earlier trial as 'December 2027 is a long way ahead'. The police previously said Fox had been 'charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003' which 'relates to an image that was posted on a social media platform in April 2024'. Section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act relates to 'cyber flashing'. The charge, introduced in 2023, makes it an offence to intentionally share a sexual image of someone without consent, with the aim of causing alarm, distress, humiliation or for sexual gratification. Upskirting, taking pictures of people under their clothes without their permission, became a specific criminal offence in 2019. Offenders can face up to two years in jail and be placed on the sex offenders' register. Fox was fired from GB News in October 2023 after an on-air rant about journalist Ava Evans. He previously starred as James Hathaway in ITV's drama series Lewis.

David Walliams ‘gave Nazi salutes on BBC show'
David Walliams reportedly gave two Nazi salutes during the filming of a BBC show. During recording of the Would I Lie To You? Christmas special earlier this week, the comedian allegedly made the gestures while his teammate Helen George, told a story. The Call the Midwife star was trying to convince the other team she had sprained her wrist 'from waving too much' during the Strictly Come Dancing tour. While demonstrating the wave that had caused her injury, she was encouraged to make a grander gesture, at which point Walliams, 53, is reported to have joined in until he made a Nazi salute. The best-selling children's author was reportedly scolded by Rob Brydon, the show's host. However, as the show went on, Walliams is said to have made the gesture again. One audience member said the salutes had landed 'awkwardly' in the room, telling The Times: 'It was all very weird. 'There were gasps from the audience and the other panellists all looked very uncomfortable.' It is believed that there is no chance the footage will be broadcast. Walliams has not been on television since he left ITV's Britain's Got Talent in 2022 after he was found to have made insulting comments about contestants. He was one of the UK's best-known television personalities before it was revealed he had made a derogatory remark about a performer who made a jibe at him. Walliams also made a sexually explicit remark about a different woman who was auditioning for the ITV show in January 2020 at the London Palladium. At the time, he apologised but insisted they had been 'private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared'. A spokesman for Banijay UK, which owns the show's production company, said: 'Any attempt at humour regarding this deeply offensive gesture, whether broadcast or not, is completely unacceptable in any context. 'It was immediately acknowledged during the recording that this segment would not be broadcast under any circumstances and we apologise to those who were at the recording for any offence caused.' A BBC spokesman said: 'The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologise to all at the recording for the offence caused.' David Walliams' representatives were approached for comment. Broaden your horizons with award-winning British journalism.
