Tommy Robinson to appear in court charged with harassing two journalists
The 42-year-old, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face charges over his alleged conduct towards two Daily Mail reporters.
He is accused of two counts of harassment causing fear of violence between August 5 and 7 2024.

Robinson, from Luton, Bedfordshire, was released from prison on May 27 after serving a jail term for the civil offence of contempt of court.
He was jailed in October after admitting multiple breaches of an injunction made in 2021, which barred him from repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee who successfully sued him for libel.
The activist left HMP Woodhill after his 18-month sentence was reduced by four months at the High Court.
He was filmed speaking on his X social media channel for around 20 minutes with longer hair and a bushy beard, and wearing a rosary around his neck, as he left the prison.
Robinson is facing a separate trial in October next year over an accusation that he failed to provide the Pin for his mobile phone when stopped by Kent Police in Folkestone in July 2024.

Powys: A479 Talgarth drunk driver resisted his arrest
A drink driver who was more than three times over the limit and was not wearing his seatbelt went on to assault an officer as he resisted his arrest. The Honda car, which was being driven by Ian Richards on May 17, was also without an MOT, Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court was told last week. Richards, 44, was stopped by police on the A479 in Talgarth. His vehicle did not have an MOT, he was not wearing a seatbelt, and a breathalyser test showed he had 116 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg. The court was told he then assaulted PC Evans with the intent to resist his arrest. Richards, of Bell Street, Talgarth, pleaded guilty to all four charges when he appeared in court last Friday (May 30). For the assault charge, magistrates handed him a 12-month community order which will include 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 80 hours of unpaid work. And for the drink-driving, he was banned from the roads for two years, but this can be reduced if he completes a drink-driving awareness course. No separate penalties were issued in relation to driving without a seatbelt and the lack of MOT.

Tommy Robinson opts for jury trial after denying harassing two journalists
Robinson, 42, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, pleaded not guilty to two counts of harassment causing fear of violence at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday before being released on bail. He is alleged to have harassed MailOnline journalists Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber through his X account between August 5 and 7 2024. During the hearing, which lasted around 20 minutes, Robinson was told that his case could be heard at a magistrates' court but instead the defendant chose a jury trial held at a crown court. Addressing Robinson, Senior District Judge Paul Goldspring said: 'Mr Lennon I have decided that if you wanted, you can have your case at this court as the powers are sufficient but you have elected to have a jury trial as is your right. 'Your case is sent to the Crown Court sitting at Southwark where you must appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on July 3. 'You are free to go Mr Lennon.' Wearing a cream Stone Island jacket, blue jeans and a man bag, Robinson smiled after he was bailed. Speaking outside court after the hearing, Robinson said: 'I've been given now the opportunity to have a jury trial. I've never had that. 'I want to be tried by twelve members of the British public. I want them to hear the evidence in this case.' Earlier in the hearing, the defendant spoke to confirm his date of birth and name, giving it as 'Stephen Lennon'. Of the charges, Prosecutor Ben Holt told the court: 'It is alleged that the defendant has harassed two journalists and their family members through the use of a Twitter or X account.' He added that none of the alleged harassment contained 'direct threats of violence'. The political activist arrived at the London court to a hoard of photographers and reporters, with dozens of his supporters also present. Some of those outside the building sported Union flags while others held purple placards that read: 'Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is the man. Tommy Robinson is the movement.' Many of his supporters were also present in the court's public gallery, including a man wearing a Union flag suit. Robinson was again surrounded by supporters and media as he left the court building in the pouring rain to chants of 'Tommy, Tommy', with some of his followers wearing 'Make England Great Again' hats.
