Rhondda man's 'hilarious' Welsh tattoo misspelling goes viral
When Cai Morgan walked out of the tattoo parlour delighted with his Welsh tribute to his family's mantra, he immediately started taking photos of it for friends and relatives.But his sister Lowri spotted one problem with the tattoo - it was not spelt correctly. Cai, 24, from Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, wanted Ymlaen - meaning forward - but instead got Ymaeln, which is not a word at all.Rather than feeling embarrassed, Cai has embraced the error and said his family found it "hilarious".
Cai went to a tattoo parlour in Brighton, where he has lived since 2019.He had always wanted a tattoo in the Welsh language similar to his father, who died last year.
"My dad was a very patriotic Welsh man with tattoos, like the Welsh flag, all over his back," he said."I've just been waiting for an opportunity and it sprung up."Cai was speaking to his mum on the phone when she reminded him about the family mantra."Ymlaen is what we live by," said Cai, who then decided to take his chance while walking past a tattoo shop.
He went into the shop to book his appointment and give the tattoo artist the spelling of the word. "I think where I went wrong on the actual day was I chose the font, the sizing and with the guy not knowing Welsh, it's not his fault," he said."He did the stencil and I approved, I think I became blind to it because I had seen the word many times." Delighted with his new tattoo, Cai started taking photos to show to his friends and family. "I was thinking 'this is sick'. It's Celtic, it's bold at the sides like I wanted it. But it wasn't until I forwarded it to my sister that she started texting me saying 'it's not spelt right Cai'," he said. Fortunately, Cai found the misspelling hilarious. "I FaceTimed her and we barely could talk because we were laughing too much," he said. The mishap was posted on TikTok by his sister and it has since gone viral which left him feeling "very surprised".The tattoo artist offered a free removal to Cai after it had fully healed, but he has decided to stick with it. "It's symbolic now. It's reminder that you can mess up but you can always move forward," he said.

Marilyn Manson Brighton gig cancelled after protests
The first UK concert of rock star Marilyn Manson's tour has been cancelled after pressure from campaigners and an first leg of his One Assassination Under God Tour had been set to kick off at Brighton Centre on 29 Saturday, fans who went online to contact Ticketmaster received a message saying "this event has been cancelled".In January, prosecutors in the US said they would not file charges against Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, after a long-running investigation into allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence. The singer has repeatedly denied the accusations. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the allegations were too old under the law and the evidence not sufficient to charge the County sheriff's detectives had said early in 2021 that they were investigating Manson over alleged incidents between 2009 and 2011 in West this month in an open letter to the Brighton and Hove City Council, Sian Berry, the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion, called for the October concert to be the letter, which was co-signed by some victim support groups and the University of Sussex students' union, she wrote: "Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organisations supporting them, will have serious concerns about this booking and its wider impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community." The letter, which was posted online, prompted a flood of responses from the public pointing out that Manson had not been found guilty of allegations against him and that a four-year investigation did not lead to branded the call to cancel the gig as message on Saturday from Ticketmaster read: "Ticket sales have stopped but there may be tickets available for other dates."Five other UK gigs in October and November are still listed on ticketing websites. Michelle Obama reveals what her dying mother told her which changed her outlook on life. The former first lady appeared on NPR 's 'Wild Card' podcast with Rachel Martin on Thursday (26 June) where she shared her mother's comments about the fleeting nature of time. 'She leaned over to me and said, 'Wow, this went fast'', Ms Obama recalled, saying that she was shocked as her mother 'was the woman that prepared me for death'. "And what that told me is even when you tell yourself you're ready, if you're living a good life, you're never really ready for it to end,' she said. 'So I hope I feel that way. Even though I've been ready for it, because it's been good and purposeful. That I'll feel like, 'I wish I had more time.' So I'm trying to live my life like that." Ms Obama's mother, Marian Robinson, died at age 86 in May 2024.
