Giant, Martin's recall store brand salsa
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A grocery store chain issued a recall of its store brand salsa on Wednesday.
In a news release, the GIANT Company — the parent company of stores Giant and Martin's — said that it was issuing the recall after its supplier informed it of 'possible salmonella contamination.'
Ice cream maker issues recall over concerns about plastic
The recall includes:
GIANT/MARTIN'S Hot Salsa, 16 oz., UPC 68826703195, all lots/all codes
GIANT/MARTIN'S Mild Salsa, 16 oz., UPC 68826703252 or UPC 007663751137, all lots/all codes
The GIANT Company said that anyone who may have purchased these items should get rid of them and contact their customer service to receive a refund.
Anyone who may be feeling ill should contact their healthcare provider.

A brand of crackers is recalling one of its products sold at retailers in 11 states, including Massachusetts, after it was found to contain an allergen not listed on its packaging. Firehook brand 'Classic Sea Salt Organic Crackers' from Firehook of Virginia may contain sesame without consumers being aware of its presence, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 'People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sesame run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,' the FDA warned. The FDA said the recall was initiated on May 30 after it was discovered that the company experienced a 'temporary breakdown' in its production and packaging processes causing the wrong labels to be applied to the product.
