Fiji forward Ben Nakubuwai has left Leigh Leopards with immediate effect to return to Australia .The 28-year-old prop moved to Leigh in 2022 and made 44 appearances for the club, scoring three tries.Nakubuwai played in their Championship Grand Final victory in 2022 and then as a substitute in their memorable Challenge Cup win at Wembley in August 2023."As a member of the cup-winning team his name will forever be remembered in Leigh's folklore," head of rugby Chris Chester told the club's website, external.

A mountain of pressure from Wakefield looked as though it would come to nothing but, with 16 minutes remaining, Corey Hall seized on a loose ball to touch down and put Trinity ahead. Leigh responded, though, with seven minutes to go as Ofahengaue, their latest impressive recruit from the NRL, crashed over. As Lam said, who knows how pivotal that moment could be for both teams come September.
