All Egyptian Tourism Pilgrims Arrive Safely in Saudi Arabia for Hajj 1446H

Ali Abo Deshish - Ahmed Emam CAIRO – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the successful arrival of all Egyptian tourism pilgrims to the holy sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj rituals for the Islamic year 1446H. A total of 40,672 Egyptian tourism pilgrims have now reached the Kingdom, following a meticulously organized travel operation via both air and land routes. According to Samia Sami, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Companies' Affairs, Head of the Egyptian Tourism Hajj Mission, and Chairperson of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah, the current season witnessed the operation of 421 flights transporting around 33,172 pilgrims under the economic and five-star packages. Additionally, 180 tourist buses carried 7,500 pilgrims via land routes, reflecting the diverse tourism Hajj programs designed to meet the varying needs of Egyptian citizens. Sami noted that the ministry's field committees, stationed in Mecca and Medina, closely monitored the arrival process and supervised the accommodation arrangements in accordance with approved contracts. These teams are also handling complaints and inquiries on the spot to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction and comfort for the pilgrims. She emphasized that the ministry, under the directives of Minister Sherif Fathy, places the safety and comfort of pilgrims as a top priority. Continuous coordination is being maintained with the Saudi authorities and all relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience and to deliver services that meet the expectations of Egyptian tourism pilgrims. These efforts are part of the Ministry's broader strategy to manage a highly organized and efficient Hajj season—one that showcases professionalism, discipline, and reinforces the tourism Hajj model as one of the most successful frameworks for facilitating pilgrimage for Egyptian citizens. It is worth noting that the final air pilgrimage flight of the season arrived in Saudi Arabia two days ago, carrying 116 tourism pilgrims, while the last land convoy arrived on Thursday, consisting of eight buses and 313 pilgrims. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Second Islamic Arts Biennale concludes in Jeddah - Visual Art - Arts & Culture

The second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, held at the Western Pilgrims Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah (25 January - 25 May 2025), has officially closed four months after its inauguration. According to a statement issued by the cultural foundation, this second edition, under the theme And All That Is Between Them, solidified the biennale's status as a leading global platform for showcasing and promoting masterpieces of Islamic art. This year's edition showcased over 500 historic and contemporary artworks across five main galleries and multiple outdoor spaces, spanning over 100,000 square metres. More than 30 cultural and artistic institutions from 21 countries participated, and over 30 contemporary artists presented 29 new works specially commissioned by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation. The list of participating artists included many prominent names, such as Nour Jaouda, Charwei Tsai, and Fatma Abdulhadi. This demonstrates the foundation's commitment to highlighting Saudi artists on the international stage and attracting artists from around the world to the Kingdom so that the local and global public can discover the diverse perspectives of contemporary art. A highlight of the 2025 edition was the first-ever display of the Kiswa (the Kaaba's covering) outside Mecca, exhibited alongside a rare collection of Islamic objects from Mecca and Medina. The award-winning installation Al-Musalla, designed by a consortium led by East Architecture Studio, was central to the exhibition's outdoor space. Constructed using local palm frond remains, the work drew inspiration from traditional textile weaving. Large sections of the award-winning Rooted Transient project were also featured in a namesake exhibition alongside the 19th International Architecture Exhibition - Venice Biennale. The exhibition showcased the architectural piece's adaptability — its ability to be disassembled, reassembled, and reused endlessly. At the closing forum, Deputy Minister of Culture and Vice Chairman of the Board of the Jeddah Biennale Foundation Rakan Al-Touq announced the launch of several initiatives aimed at building on the biennale's strong connections with a broad network of cultural institutions through the Orbit exhibition — one of the biennale's most important sections. These initiatives will include joint research projects, developing a digital platform to archive displayed objects and artworks, and organizing conferences in Saudi Arabia and around the world in collaboration with partner institutions. The goal is to build a knowledge network that strengthens research efforts and fosters the exchange of expertise in various fields of Islamic art. Egypt announces five-day holiday for public sector on Eid El-Adha starting 6 June - Society

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced a five-day paid holiday for public sector employees to mark Eid al-Adha. The holiday will run from Thursday, 5 June, to Monday, 9 June, 2025, according to a cabinet decree. The decision applies to employees at ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies, a cabinet statement read. However, exams scheduled during this period will proceed as planned according to the schedule set by the relevant authorities. Muslims around the world will celebrate the four-day Islamic feast starting Friday, 6 June, after confirming the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijja. Eid Al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims, along with Eid Al-Fitr. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It also marks the start of the annual Hajj or the Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and must be undertaken at least once by all Muslims who have the means to do so. More than one million pilgrims from various countries have already arrived in Saudi Arabia for this year's Hajj, according to Saudi authorities. Last year, more than 1.8 million Muslims performed Hajj, according to official figures. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
