‘I NEED that bag!' fashion fans yell about Next's fruity new accessory as they praise store's ‘insane' summer collection

A GOOD bag has the power to elevate any ordinary outfit into something extra special. So it comes as no surprise that fashion fans are racing to their nearest Next, in a bid to get their hands on one of the stunning new lemon handbags. 6 6 6 6 The store shared some of its favourite summer items in a picture slideshow on TikTok. "Psssttt - wanna see some of our fave accessories for summer?" they wrote over the top of the first snap. They then showed off the bag in question - a gorgeous beaded bright yellow number designed to look like a segment of lemon. "They need no introduction," they wrote over the picture. The £55 beaded bag also comes in an equally cute watermelon design. And it was clear the bag is going to be a sought after accessory this summer, judging by the hundreds of people commenting on the TikTok. "Neeeed that lemon bag," one wrote. "We love the lemon and watermelon bags, Next!" another praised. "Fruitylicious on the beach." "The lemon bag is going on the wishlist!" a third gushed. The summer trend dividing style queens - some call it a 'girl's best friend' but it brings back bad memories for others "Obsessed, beaded heaven," someone else said. "Sold. God sakes!" another joked. Other items included in the picture slideshow were a gorgeous shell necklace, which was paired with a green co-ord. And there are a fair few bags to choose from in store at the moment too. Like the "perfect summer beach bag" - a stunning cream option with tassels and intricate crochet detailing. Cow print is also a big trend this summer, with a neck scarf coming in the pattern to "elevate any outfit". Hottest fashion trends of 2025 Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares the biggest trends from the high street. The East/West Bag Baguette bags have had a good run, after returning from the 1990s' shoulders of Sarah Jessica Parker to modern-day fashion icons, like Hailey Bieber. In 2025, the East/West bag is a similar but elongated shape and has long, thin straps that are easy to throw over your shoulder. They've been on runway models' arms at nearly ever designer show - think Burberry, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta - and are hitting the high street now, too. Powder pink Bright fuchsia pink had its day after the release of Barbie in 2023 and now the more polished and expensive-looking pale shade is taking over for 2025. Pantone may say that it's the year of Mocha Mousse, but the catwalks say otherwise! From Prada to Erdem, the subtle look was all over the spring/summer catwalks, worn head-to-toe or on its own. If the sugary shade is too girly for you, then look to sharp suiting for a androgynous take on the colour. The shell jacket The '80s classic is back, but with a sleek and minimal new twist for 2025. We all know we're likely to see rain for most of spring, so your practical coat of choice should be a cagoule jacket. Depop revealed one of its big trend predictions for this year is retro sportswear, with surges already seen in '80s windbreakers'. Seen everywhere from the stylish streets of Copenhagen to the Miu Miu catwalk, now mums who have an emergency raincoat crumpled underneath their pushchair are very much in fashion! The turn-up jeans While the shape of jeans remains the same for this year and barrel-legs will still be everywhere, the way we're styling them is different. This season, transform your wide-leg, baggy denims into turn-ups. For this look, size doesn't matter, so while deep turn-ups are a hit from jean trend-leaders Citizens of Humanity, a slight fold is still just as good - but only as it's just one single fold. Peep-toe shoe Get your pedicures booked in sharpish, as this season your toes are the main event. After a long hiatus, the peep-toe has been welcomed back into the fashion fold, with brands like Hermes, Miu Miu and Tory Burch showing plain and embellished footwear in this style. From mules to pumps and clogs (yes, clogs will be around too!), there are lots of different styles that are set to sweep the high street. Sheer blouses See-through looks have always lived on the catwalk, but have rarely filtered into everyday life - until now. Designers Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford loved sheer looks on their S/S '25 catwalks and M&S even had sellout success with its black sheer pencil skirt last season. Expect to see more sheer looks lining supermarket aisles and high street shops in the form of skirts, tops and frocks. And there are even lace-up cow print loafers - sure to divide style fans. Fruit continues to be a big theme, with a red bag featuring miniature strawberries on it. The comments section was once again filled with people praising Next for the epic offerings, with one insisting: "Omg need it all!" "Next have excelled this summer," another added. "I fear Next is eating the other high street shops up atm???????" a third mused. "Erm ok slay!!!!!!!!" someone else commented. "Your summer pieces are insane!" another mused. While someone else said they "can't afford this". "Next is doing so good this season!" someone else concluded. 6 6

‘Gut feeling more important than social media likes', says festival promoter

John Giddings, who has run the Isle of Wight Festival since it restarted in 2002, said performers need to be able to 'deliver' to a crowd and not just keep their attention on a phone screen. The 72-year-old, who represents artists ranging from Blondie to Phil Collins, told the PA news agency: 'It's gut feeling, really. I've learned the hard way in my years in the music business that some people might have sold a lot of records, but they're useless when it comes to performing. Sting performs at the Isle of Wight Festival 2008 at Seaclose Park on the Isle of Wight (Yui Mok/PA) 'You want to book acts that have a catalogue that's going to entertain an audience for an hour, hour and a half, and, secondly, someone who's capable of performing to an audience of 50,000 people in a field, because they need to be able to project to entertain. 'When you look back on who we've had – Blur, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, the (Rolling) Stones – they're all capable of delivering, even if it's pouring with rain, which it doesn't that much on the Isle of Wight, thank God. 'But you've got to be prepared for everything and it's quality of performance, really. 'I do know artists who've had a million views on TikTok who can't sell 300 tickets at a club in London. Just because all these people want to watch them on socials doesn't mean they're going to pay money to go and see them in a field.' Mr Giddings – who also manages through his Solo music agency touring shows for some of the world's biggest names such as Madonna, U2 and Beyonce – said that as well as classic acts, he needs to keep an eye on the breakthrough bands. Rod Stewart performs on day four of the Isle of Wight Festival 2017, at Seaclose Park, Isle of Wight (David Jensen/PA) He said: 'Because I'm older, we book acts from past, present and future, there's a discussion in the office as to what new bands are coming up, and you're projecting as to what they're going to be doing in the year's or nine months' time. 'I'll never forget when I booked The Darkness when they first started out, they were supporting someone at Brixton Academy, and I went down there, and I walked in, and Justin (Hawkins) was sitting on the shoulders of his roadie, walking through the audience, playing the lead solo. 'I thought, 'blimey, this is the music I grew up on', and then they came and played the Isle of Wight and blew everyone away.' Mr Giddings said he was always on the lookout for new acts, adding: 'If the truck driver comes up with a good idea and it's a better idea than mine, then go for it, you can't be that arrogant to just believe what you think yourself. 'We've got 15 stages on the Isle of Wight, so whatever stage you're at in your career, you can play one of those stages.' Mr Giddings said one of his highlights from the Isle of Wight Festival was Jay Z and added: 'I remember thinking 50,000 people couldn't go wilder, and then Kanye West walked on with them and it exploded, and I turned to my left, and there was Beyonce standing there – I thought 'It couldn't get better than this'.' Damon Albarn of Blur performs live on day three of the Isle of Wight Festival 2015 (David Jensen/PA) Mr Giddings said that he remembered the classic Isle of Wight Festival of 1970, which saw 600,000 hippies descend on the island causing the event to be outlawed for 32 years, and added: 'I remember walking over the hill, it was like going to the Battle of the Somme and you could smell them before you saw them.' After 23 years of organising the Isle of Wight Festival, he said: 'I absolutely love it, which is my downfall because I work all the time, I never think I've actually had a job. 'There's nothing better than sitting in an office in Fulham in November and it's wet and windy outside, and you're imagining putting an act on in a field on the Isle of Wight in June, and then you see it nine months later and people are going wild to it. 'It's the most satisfying thing ever to provide entertainment for people.' The Isle of Wight Festival 2025, which is being headlined by Sting, Stereophonics and Justin Timberlake, runs from June 19 to 22 at Seaclose Park, Newport.
