The inaugural edition of the Port Said International Film Festival is set to take place from September 18th to the 22nd, 2025, in the coastal city of Port Said. The event is named in honour of the late Egyptian actor Mahmoud Yassin, a Port Said native, and is organised under the patronage of Major General Moheb Habashy, Governor of Port Said, and Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno. Film critic Ahmed Asser serves as the festival's president.
The festival will include a diverse programme of Egyptian and international film screenings, alongside workshops, seminars, and panel discussions aimed at fostering dialogue between filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Syndicate of Film Professions led by Musaad Fouda, and the Port Said Association for Theatrical and Cultural Arts chaired by Abdel Salam El-Alfy, the festival aims to establish a lasting platform for cinematic exchange while enhancing Port Said's cultural footprint in the regional film scene.

Directed by Peter Mimi, the film's narrative centers on Youssef al-Gammal, an Egyptologist portrayed by Abdel Aziz, who embarks on a thrilling journey stretching from the heart of Cairo to the Vatican and into the depths of the oceans. His quest seeks to answer a mysterious historical question: 'Is the Great Pyramid merely a tomb?' This adventure is packed with chases, action, and suspense, all supported by high-tech special effects and challenging scenes. Some sequences were even filmed underwater, featuring the involvement of real military and civilian aircraft, as well as submarines, adding to the film's spectacular visual appeal. Abdel Aziz's next venture: '7Dogs' with Ahmed Ezz Adding to his current box office success with 'Project X,' Karim Abdel Aziz is already gearing up for another highly anticipated cinematic venture: '7Dogs.' This upcoming film will see him team up with fellow superstar Ahmed Ezz, promising a powerful on-screen pairing. Penned by Mohamed al-Dabbah with a story by Turki al-Sheikh, '7Dogs' is set to be directed by the internationally recognized duo Adel and Bilal, and also produced by al-Sheikh. Yara Sameh Egyptian superstar, Amal Maher is working on a new song called "Law Lena Omr". It is by the lyrics of Nader Abd Allah and composed by Mohamed Mohamady‎. "Law Lena Omr" marks the first collaboration between Maher and Mohamady‎. It also witnesses the superstar's first music in 2025 and comes after a period of absence from the music scene. ‏ Born on February 19, 1985, Maher began singing as a child by presenting songs by iconic singer Umm Kulthum. She was discovered at the age of fifteen and enrolled at the Conservatory of Arabic Music to begin her singing career. The acclaimed singer soon met composer Mohamed Diae, whom she eventually married and became the father of her son, Omar. She filed for divorce a year later. She recorded her first song in 2006 and received the support of Egyptian music icon Ammar El Sherei, who she considers to be her spiritual father. Here's Our First Look at "El Sellem Wel Teban" Sequel

Yara Sameh The first look at the sequel to the 2001 romance-drama film 'El Sellem Wel Teban' ('The Ladder and The Snake'), has finally been unveiled. The film stars Amr Youssef, Asmaa Galal, Dhafer L'Abidine, Nicole Saafan, and more. Tarek Alarian, the film's original director and co-writer, is also returning to helm the sequel. Alarian is directing the pic from a script written by Ahmed Hosny. The upcoming film is being touted to be entirely different from the first film, both in terms of visual style and character development. It reunites Galal and Youssef for the second time after collaborating in 2024's "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya". The film also witness the fourth collaboration between Alarian and Youssef after the Welad Rizk franchise. The sequel was announced at the 7th edition of the El Gouna Film Festival in October 2024. The original film starred Hani Salama, Ahmed Helmy, Hala Shiha, Ragaa Al-Geddawy, Tarek El Tilmisany, and more. Alarian directed the pic from a script he co-wrote with Mohamed Hefzy. 'El Sellem Wel Teban' is centered around Hazem, a reckless young man, who fails at being a good husband and father. His life changes when he meets Yasmin, and they both face issues that force them to fall in love with each other. The film went through many stages during its preparations, during which Hefzy wrote the script in English. Al-Aryan was very enthusiastic about the project, which was different from the films available at that time.
