Huge band's Glastonbury appearance hanging in the balance after two stars and crew fall sick and warm up shows cancelled

AMYL and the Sniffers' upcoming Glastonbury set is hanging in the balance after illness swept through the band and their team.
The Aussie rockers were forced to cancel their Vienna gig on Monday after two band members and a crew member came down with 'a very nasty virus".

And it comes just days before they're due to hit the stage at Worthy Farm.
In a statement shared to their Instagram Stories, the group - comprised of Amy Taylor, Bryce Wilson, Declan Mehrtens and Gus Romer - wrote: "VIENNA. We are so sorry, but we have to cancel tonight's show.
"Two of our band members and one of our crew have contracted a very nasty virus and they are receiving medical care.
"We're so sorry for fie late notice. We were hoping we would not have to cancel tonight, but they are just too sick to perform.
"You'll get an email from the promoter and tickets will be automatically refunded from the point of purchase.
"We'll come back as soon as we can."
The last-minute cancellation came just two hours before the band was due to take the stage, with disappointed fans left outside the venue.
Taking to a Reddit forum, one wrote: "Amyl and the sniffers have cancelled a show in Vienna tonight. Hoping their band members will be okay for Saturday!"
Another added: "They're great live and put on a hell of a show in Woodsies a few years ago. Fingers crossed everyone is ok."
Someone else moaned: "Talk about bad timing! I was waiting outside the venue when the cancellation was announced, only two hours before the concert was supposed to start.
"It was especially tough seeing two fans who'd flown all the way from Australia for this show.
"Disappointed for sure, but wishing the band a speedy recovery and really hoping they can reschedule for next year."
Glastonbury kicks off today with several mystery slots still unannounced - and fans are on high alert for clues about surprise performers.
This morning, a mysterious billboard popped up near Castle Cary, the main train station for Glastonbury Festival.
The large white banner features a cryptic message in red text which says: 'I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up.'
It also included a mobile phone number. When one Reddit user contacted the number, they said they got a response to sign up to a "scam" investment scheme.
The billboard was spotted by a festival-goer queuing early for the gates, who shared a photo to Reddit with the caption: 'Does anyone know what this is about / who's it for?
'Just got here to queue for gates opening and haven't seen anyone mention it. Give me ya theories!!!!'
One fan was quick to point out that the same sign appeared in Glasgow recently, fuelling rumours that Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi - who made a surprise return to the stage in May after a hiatus - may be planning a surprise return on one of Glastonbury's stages.
The Someone You Loved star, who has been diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome, was forced to take a break from music after struggling to finish his set at Glastonbury in June 2023.
The legendary festival officially opens today at Worthy Farm in Somerset, with headline performances scheduled from June 27 to June 29.
This year's headliners include The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Elsewhere on the bill are major acts like Charli XCX, Loyle Carner, Rod Stewart, The Prodigy, Doechii, and Raye.
Earlier this month, the full festival schedule was released — but fans noticed several TBA slots still in place.
Now they have a new theory about who else could make a surprise appearance at the legendary festival.
On the 2025 Glastonbury schedule, the Saturday 6.15pm slot has a mysterious act called "Patchwork" pencilled in, and fans have been trying to work out what it means.
It follows a similar mystery in 2023 when Churn Ups were revealed to be the Foo Fighters.
Fans are convinced that Chappell Roan is "Patchwork" after she posted a telling clue on Instagram.
It came after the Pink Pony Club star shared a picture of herself holding a patchwork quilt, and wrote next to it: "Insane vibe."
Dave Grohl also sparked a flurry of excitement after he jetted to the UK earlier this week.
Grohl, 56, sent fans into a spin after posing for a photo with US singer Amanda Palmer at London 's Royal Albert Hall.
After grabbing the Foo Fighters legend for a photo, she shared it on social media and told her followers: "Well I'll be damned. Not who I expected to run into backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeah's show in London tonight, but look, it's Dave Grohl."
The rest of the bill features big-name acts such as Charli XCX, Doechii, Rod Stewart, Loyle Carner, The Prodigy and Raye.

Why Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos' wedding week got off to 'risky' start with foam party

Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos will finally wed Lauren Sanchez this week in Venice, Italy - but things could already be off to a rocky start after they kicked off the festivities with a foam party on their yacht. The couple were seen having a blast on Bezos' $500 million Koru yacht, covered in foam as they playfully lathered themselves while in skimpy swimwear to keep cool in the Italian heat. The multi-day-long extravaganza of celebrations are set for this week as the couple tie the knot in front of a rumored 200 guests, which include Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump and Orlando Bloom. Both Ivanka and her family, as well as designer Diane von Furstenberg were seen arriving in Venice yesterday for what's been dubbed as the wedding of the year. The couple are said to have rented out a number of places in the Italian city to celebrate the lavish, love-filled weekend. However, they've already had to move locations due to safety concerns amid protests - originally, they had planned a huge party planned at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia on Saturday night but it has now been moved to another venue in the Arsenale area of the city, according to local media. Although the big day isn't even here yet, the two already seem to be enjoying themselves as they partied it up at their foam extravaganza - but according to doctors - who had no knowledge of this specific party - it was a dangerous choice before their wedding. Dr. Michael Eng, an orthopedic surgeon at Hoag Orthopedic Institute in California, told exclusively that foam parties can be 'scary' because of all the slipping and sliding that happens, potentially causing bodily injury. 'In the process of catching yourself or trying to hold on to something, even the tiniest amount of slip can cause a sudden jolt in the body,' Dr. Eng explained to 'Catching yourself mid slip can tweak your spine, potentially leading to discomfort or worse,' he said. Dr. Eng shared that he was less concerned about someone taking a fall, but more about the strange movements we can make with our bodies when we try to prevent ourselves from slipping. 'What could be worse than being on a yacht with all of your friends, and you have thrown out your back?' he shared. Dr. Rayva Khanna, a dermatology resident physician at Georgetown University Medical Center, seemed to agree that foam parties could be dangerous, but for different reasons. 'From a dermatology perspective, foam parties increase risk of irritant contact dermatitis and or chemical burns. These injuries occur due to direct exposure of chemicals on the skin agents present in the party foam,' Dr. Khanna revealed to exclusively. 'Particularly, foam with harsh detergents and biocidal additives can actually increase the risk of more severe skin reactions such as blistering or ulceration,' Dr. Khanna said. She advised that if you 'develop skin burning or pain' from attending a foam party, you should remove the contaminated clothes and wash off with water. 'Persistent or severe reactions may require topical steroids or other medications from your dermatologist,' Dr. Khanna offered. 'Try to minimize skin contact with foam using protective clothing.' Dr. Eng also recommended that you be mindful about what kind of footwear you're wearing to a foam party, if you're due to attend one this summer. 'You have to assume that the floor is going to be wet, and when the oil from the bottom of our shoes mixes with water, it's pretty much an adult slip and slide,' he shared. 'It's even more of a risk that these events are often mixed in with dancing, which is just a recipe for accidents. Wear shoes that have as good of a grip as you can find, swimming shoes could actually be a life saver in these situations,' he added. The orthopedic surgeon also recommend that those who already have back and spine issues move slowly and stay away from the center of the dance floor. Now, it's unclear if the couple will be hosting any other foam parties this weekend, but it seems like anything's possible for Sánchez and Bezos during the biggest time of their lives. It was recently revealed to the Daily Mail by a source in Italy that each guest will be receiving hand-blown glassware by local glassmaker Laguna B. The glassware company was originally created by Marie Brandolini, who left New York in 1988 to live in Venice. All of the glasses have different motifs and designs, with one large-size cup running customers $167. The handmade glassware are not the only things that guests will be coming back home with. The insider told Daily Mail that a wedding planner who is not working this event has heard that guests will receive other 'opulent' gifts for attending. But of course, guests will also be treated to a few other luxurious surprises during their time in Italy for the wedding. The source confirmed to the Daily Mail that local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia will be providing pastries for the extravagant weekend. Separate sources recently told the Daily Mail that the festivities are expected to cost $20 million. Many things went into the estimate of the total cost, including transportation fees, her wedding dress and catering.

King Charles makes request for Sugababes CD at red carpet event

King Charles III has been revealed as a fan of the Sugababes as he made a request for their hits to play at his King's Trust Awards ceremony. The monarch met with Hollywood royalty and a number of other celebrities at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday evening. The group gathered to celebrate the recipients of awards at the upcoming King's Trust Awards ceremony. George Clooney and Amal Clooney, Dame Joanna Lumley, Joseph Fiennes, and Declan Donnelly were at the red carpet event, along with the girl group Sugababes. King Charles chatted with Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghy, who will open and close the ceremony at London's Royal Festival Hall. The King then chatted to Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom, who revealed that he told the King he was taking requests as he'd be preparing a set for the red carpet. Melvin later told PA News Agency: 'He asked for the Sugababes CD to be played.' He joked that he'd take the request, albeit an out-of-date one: 'I didn't want to say to him we don't use CDs anymore, I'm using USB, but I'll drop the Sugababes.' The awards will be presented at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday, June 26. The babes themselves later responded to the news that they had a fan in the King: 'That's very, very cool to know the King has requested us. 'We said to the King we've been around for 25 years and he was like wow, he was a bit taken aback.' They added that they had an idea in mind about which CD they might send to the King first. 'He said he wanted a CD and we think we'll introduce him to Overload first, he was really lovely.' The girl band caused chaos at Glastonbury earlier this year when they performed on the West Holts stage. Despite being the festival's third-largest stage, it simply did not have the capacity to host the huge number of fans eager to see the stars perform. More Trending Fans had to be turned away from the performance by security due to fears of overcrowding – and many were fuming that they were forced to miss out. The girl group is set to give the Worthy Farm festival a miss this year after touring throughout April. The current group members are the original ones from when the band was first formed in 1998. Siobhan left the group in 2001, with Mutya leaving in 2005, and Keisha leaving in 2009. After three different formation variations, the girls returned to the original lineup in 2011, reclaiming the rights to the name the Sugababes in 2019 – and the rest is history. Got a story? Four dumped Love Island stars revealed as mass dumping rocks the villa

LOVE Island has revealed which four islanders have been dumped from the villa. Tonight's nail biting episode saw Maya Jama enter the sleepover villa, where she had some big news for Helena, Dejon, Emily and Remell. 5 5 5 In a shock twist, Maya told them that they have to decide if they want to stick in their current couple or recouple with a bombshell. 'Having some time away has allowed you to explore new connections, but are these connections stronger than what you have with your current partner?' she said. The foursome then had to decide whether they head back to the villa alone, or with one of the newcomers, Giorgio, Will, Poppy and Caprice. In the end, only Helena decided to recouple and opted to go back with Giorgio. Dejon decided to stick with Meg, despite kissing Caprice during his time at the sleepover villa. Remell hesitated but chose to stick with Alima, even though he told Poppy earlier he felt different with her and they shared a snog. That left Emily, who opted to stay with Conor- unaware of his growing connection with Megan back in the main villa - over new boy Will. As a result of Helena's decision, Shea found himself single and a text back to the original villa broke the news. The four islanders going home were Shea, as well as three of the bombshells: Poppy, Caprice and Will. While Helena was the only one to recouple, she has admitted she is still pining for Harry. Chatting with Emily before having to make her decision, she told her she was attracted to Giorgio but was still thinking about Harry. Earlier in the evening, it had looked like Remell and Dejon might be swayed by the new girls too. During a game of Truth or Dare, Dejon dared Remell to kiss an islander of his choice and he plumped for Poppy. Poppy then kissed Dejon after being dared to smooch the person she's most attracted to other than the person she chose. 5 5 When Dejon was later dared to kiss the Islander he's most attracted to, he locked lips with Caprice and they both rated the smooch 10/10. When quizzed by Dejon who he would chose between Alima and Poppy, Remell paused for a few moments and then opted for Poppy. asks Remell who he would choose between Alima and Poppy if there was a recoupling and he hesitates but says Poppy. And in a subsequent talk with his pal round the firepit, Remell went on to confess: 'I'm loving the chats with Poppy, flirty, chill…I don't want to leave with regrets which is why I'm giving Poppy the time of day.' Dejon responded: 'You've got to look long term… whoever you see a long term future with, that's the one you pursue.' On his own love triangle after snogging Caprice, Dejon said: 'What me and Caprice have could be something good, but what me and Meg have is something special.' Later that night, Remell pulled Poppy for a chat. 'I've been comfy around you, it's the first time in the Villa that I've felt like this so it's telling me something," he told her before they snogged again. So it came as something of a shock when he eventually chose to stick with Alima instead.
