Fibre2Fashion01-05-2025

Following last year's successful collaboration, Gap and DÔEN are launching a second collection of California vintage-inspired classics celebrating timeless femininity. Launching on May 2, the collection is an ode to both brands' effortless and easy dressing, introducing new silhouettes and prints. This collection also expands into baby and men's apparel, marking DÔEN's first time offering men's products.
Building on bestsellers from the previous collaboration, the new 38-piece collection is rooted in DÔEN's feminine interpretation of iconic Gap styles:
Gap and Dí'EN reunite for a second collaboration, launching on May 2, 2025. The 38-piece summer-ready collection blends Dí'EN's feminine style with Gap classics, introducing baby and men's wear for the first time. Produced in RISE-participating factories, it supports gender equity in fashion supply chains. The campaign, shot by Clara Balzary, highlights community, joy and timeless style. Logo: Gap's iconic arch logo reimagined with DÔEN's typeface on the VintageSoft Logo Sweatshirt ($78) and Heavyweight Raglan Logo Hoodie ($98) for adults.
Coastal Dressing: Easy summer dresses with new prints like the Pintuck Floral Midi Dress ($148) and the 100% Linen Gingham Maxi Dress ($138) as worn by Kristy Hume.
Eyelet Details: New iterations of last year's most loved Eyelet Maxi Dresses are now available in additional colorways with perfected design features ($158) and shorter Eyelet Shift Mini Dresses ($128) available in red and indigo.
Matching Sets in Nautical Colorways: Red, white, and navy offered in solid, gingham and stripe colors plus a transitional Gingham Denim Jacket ($128) that pairs with the Gingham Denim Mini Dress ($98).
Denim Staples Reimagined: Expanded denim styles including the Oversized Icon Denim Jacket ($128), High Rise Pleated Denim Trouser Shorts ($78), men's Pleated Denim Trousers ($98), Denim Sailor Mini Dress ($98) – also available in toddler sizing ($44).
Men's Classics: Anny Choi borrows from the boys in the Organic Cotton Poplin Big Shirt ($78) available alongside other menswear staples like the Eyelet Shirt ($88) and Pocket T-Shirt ($48).
"Our first collection with DÔEN set a new bar for how a collaboration can infuse a fresh perspective into Gap essentials, creating covetable pieces that left our customers wanting more,' said Mark Breitbard, President & CEO of Gap . 'Reuniting with DÔEN—an inspiring partner that shares our values—has allowed us to build on that momentum with a new summer-ready collection.'
'We were overwhelmed by the excitement and success of our first collection with Gap,' said Margaret Kleveland, Co-Founder and CEO of DÔEN . 'Our second collaboration blends the effortless femininity and timeless style of both brands, while celebrating the incredible community that has shaped DÔEN. The campaign features longtime muses and supporters—women we admire and who have been part of our journey from the beginning. This collection is a tribute to them and to the partnership that brought us here.'
The Gap × DÔEN collection was produced in international factories that participate in RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality). RISE brings together leading fashion brands, manufacturers, civil society groups, and trade unions to advance gender equity in the international garment sector. Founded in 2023 by Gap Inc., BSR's HERproject, Better Work and CARE, RISE provides garment workers with the skills needed to advance in work and life. As part of its commitment to bridging the equity gap, Gap Inc. has reached nearly 1.4 million women and girls through its decades-long efforts to advance gender equity in the global fashion supply chain.
'At DÔEN, we were humbled to be selected as a small business partner to join the RISE program, and we've launched the initiative within our own supply chain this April,' says Kleveland . 'We are especially excited about the factories chosen to manufacture the Gap × DÔEN collection given the role RISE plays in our overall impact strategy.'
The collection is accompanied by a campaign shot by Clara Balzary, featuring a powerful cast of women, including Alex Noriet, Bruna Tenorio, Veronica Campos, Imani Randolph, Anny Choi, Achok, and Kirsty Hume. The photography and campaign film captures the authentic connections and joyful moments celebrating the brand's shared values of community and togetherness. Surveen Chawla on impact of #MeToo movement on casting couch in the industry: 'It is important to have the fear of...'

Surveen Chawla candidly discussed her past experiences with the casting couch in the entertainment industry, noting a positive shift post-MeToo with the rise of ethical casting practices and stricter laws. She credits casting agencies for prioritizing talent and skills, contributing to a safer, more inclusive environment on sets for everyone, emphasizing the importance of protocols and intimacy coordinators. In a bold and thoughtful conversation with ETimes, Surveen Chawla opened up about navigating the darker corners of the entertainment industry, including her past encounters with the casting couch . Reflecting on how the landscape has shifted post the MeToo movement, she shed light on the rise of ethical casting practices, the role of accountability, and the growing importance of safe, inclusive sets. She has been very candid and honest about facing the casting couch throughout her career. Reflecting on whether this issue still exists today, she admits that she hasn't encountered it recently and isn't sure what newcomers might be experiencing now. Surveen said, "I have always been very candid and honest regarding the casting couch. I don't know if it still exists or not because I haven't had an experience in the recent past. And I don't know what newcomers are going through at this point in time—but it was tough. It was very difficult. MeToo, I'm sure, has helped the cause because it's important—I think, in all fairness, it's important—to have the fear of casting based on the couch." Regarding how the industry has evolved, Surveen said'I think it's all been positive. So it seems from the outside; I don't know. I believe people are relying on casting agencies and getting more serious casting agencies in the business today. You're getting chosen, selected based on your talent, on your skills—no matter where you come from, no matter what your power position is in the industry. If you fit the bill, you fit the role, you get the part. ' She added, "And I think that process needed to be authentic. And it's looking positive. It's looking positive because, no matter what, there are times when stars or actors are still going for a test because the director wants to really see and decide based on what you're doing in the test—whether you fit the bill or not. So I think that would be the right way to approach casting. And I would like to credit—I'm not taking names—but I would like to credit casting agencies who've been doing such a phenomenal job at it. " Surveen believes these changes have contributed to the decline of the casting couch, though she remains cautious: 'I think somewhere that has played a huge role in casting couch being on the decline, if I may say so. I don't know—I don't think I'd be the right person to say that.' She also points out that these issues are being rightly addressed today. 'And I'm glad they are being addressed in the way that they are because laws are stricter—whether it's man or woman or whatever gender. And that's how it needs to be. There has to be some kind of protocol that needs to be followed—with the advent of intimacy coordinators as well.' Reflecting on the past, Surveen added, 'A lot of troubling things happened on sets—not in my experience, but I've heard a lot of times, you know, back then maybe. So I think the protection and the safe environment for people working on set—for women working on set, for men working on set—is of utmost importance today. So I'm glad that it's being acknowledged.' Rikishi voices frustration over Jey Uso's WWE direction, calls for booking overhaul

Image via WWE WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has voiced strong concerns over the creative direction surrounding his son Jey Uso, who is currently enjoying his first reign as World Heavyweight Champion. While Jey remains a prominent figure in the promotion, Rikishi believes WWE's decision to book him in a tag team match at Money in the Bank (MITB) 2025 undermines his stature as a singles champion. Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi criticised WWE's creative team for what he called 'confusing booking' and even joked that he should be allowed to book Jey's matches instead. 'Bro why? Why? I mean, Jey is a World Heavyweight Champion by himself… just book me so I can book my son's matches out there,' he quipped. Rikishi shows concern over storyline momentum Jey Uso is set to team up with Cody Rhodes to face Logan Paul and John Cena at MITB on June 7. While the lineup looks star-studded on paper, Rikishi questioned the decision to place a reigning world champion in a non-title tag match instead of spotlighting him in a marquee singles bout. 'You beat Logan Paul the first time they lock up? I wouldn't have done that. Should've waited for a gimmick match,' Rikishi added, pointing out that Paul's star power could've been better utilized. YADADAMEAN?! Rikishi Fatu - Off The Top (Episode 61) He also took aim at the upcoming World Title match scheduled for June 9 on RAW, where GUNTHER will challenge Jey Uso. According to Rikishi, the match should've happened much sooner and with added stakes, possibly a stipulation that matches their in-ring reputations. While Rikishi may not be pleased with Jey's creative arc, he was full of praise for two other members of the Samoan dynasty - Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo (formerly Jeff Cobb). Rikishi labeled Fatu a 'future Hall of Famer' and lauded his rise from personal struggles to becoming one of WWE's hottest new stars. He also applauded Mateo's quick impact since debuting at WWE Backlash and likened his physical presence to that of a prime Taz, highlighting his suplex-heavy style and agility despite his build. 'To see him get that financial stability after grinding on the indies - man, I'm proud,' Rikishi said. Fans online appear to agree with Rikishi's sentiment. Many have questioned the lack of title defenses for Jey and criticized WWE for relying too heavily on tag matches featuring champions at Premium Live Events.
