China's Bai Yulu retains World Women's Snooker Championship
Bai Yulu has won her second World Women's Snooker Championship, beating Mink Nutcharut in the final, just as she did last year.
The 21-year-old beat the Thai star 6-4 in Dongguan to cement her place as the leading player in the women's game.
China continue to boast the world champion in Zhao Xintong after his triumph at the Crucible and the women's world champ thanks to Bai's success on home soil.
Bai beat three-time former champion Ng On Yee in the semi-finals before whitewashing compatriot Xia Yuying 5-0 in the semis.
That set up a clash with Mink in the final after the 2022 champion beat India's Anupama Ramachandran 4-0 in the quarter-finals and fellow Thai cueist Baipat Siripaporn 5-1 in the semis.
The final was a tense affair with plenty of frames ending very closely, including the first of the match which Bai nicked 51-50. More Trending
Mink rallied and took the next three and led 4-2 with the only half-century of the contest.
That proved to be as good as things got for her, though, with the defending champion winning four on the spin to get her hands on the trophy again.
The final frame saw both having a number of chances to win it, with Mink dramatically going in-off on the final pink as it looked like she was forcing a decider.

United had only just concluded a calamitous season that saw them finish 15th after 18 losses, while they also lost the Europa League final to rivals Tottenham that saw them miss out on the chance to secure Champions League football. When they discovered the club's plans to embark on a post-season tour so soon after a disastrous campaign, a small group of players approached the hierarchy to express their dissatisfaction, according to Manchester Evening News, with suggestions that some would refuse to join. United ended up bringing forward the flight to Malaysia after their 2-0 win over Villa on Sunday to 'reduce the possibility of last-minute withdrawals', with even injured stars Luke Shaw, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee boarding the plane. The report adds that some members of the squad were "fuming" that the club organised the tour after a gruelling and difficult 60-game season. There were claims by some players that the tour would be like a 'stag do', with some staff enjoying drinks on the 14-hour flight. On the first night there, players were allowed to head into the city of Kuala Lumpur - but sources say "nothing crazy happened", with players returning at a "reasonable time". The tour began in miserable fashion, however, as United lost 1-0 to Asean All-Stars, a team that had played one game previously - a 1-0 defeat to the Indonesia national team. Afterwards, there was "humour" on the team bus, despite being booed by fans. United did win their second game 3-1 against Hong Kong, which earned them a friendly trophy - one so insignificant it was carried to the dressing room by their press officer. There had also been farcical scenes that were widely mocked on social media after United's open-top bus ride around Kuala Lumpur, with Zirkzee, De Ligt and Ayden Heaven taking part. Fans have teased United for the move despite their dismal season, but United officials have insisted it was billed as a bus tour - and one that was lapped up by locals. The trip has not been disciplined as a pre-season tour and players were allowed to be more "frivolous". Alejandro Garnacho - whose future remains uncertain - headed out with Heaven on e-scooters. Meanwhile, Zirkzee was unimpressed by room service at the team's hotel so he headed out for a Thai takeaway, flanked by a security guard. Three players who headed out to Malaysia - Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot - were picked to travel to Mumabi, India for more commercial activities. MANCHESTER UNITED endured a nightmare post-season tour in Asia including an embarrassing on-pitch display, a humiliating bus parade and unhappy players. Some of the squad were said to be outright "fuming" about having to go on the six-day tour after a 60-game season, though with commercial duties taking up much of the agenda the trip effectively became a four-day event. Players were said to be concerned about having to cancel holiday plans, including one who complained about being forced to cancel a family trip scheduled for the half-term week. Club chiefs made a concession by bringing the departure time of their Malaysia flight forwards to Sunday evening, hour following the final game of the season against Aston Villa, after learning some players might try to "cry off" the 14,150-mile round trip to Malaysia. However, the actual mood in the camp on tour was said to be a better than anticipated despite the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham. Some commercial player events including fan meet-and-greets are said to have taken up to two hours to complete as the local supporters lapped up the chance to see Man Utd in the flesh, including on the humiliating open-top bus parade which happened in Kuala Lumpur before the first friendly against ASEAN All-Stars. Kit makers Adidas hosted a nocturnal poolside party at the W Hotel - where they stayed as part of their link with club sponsor, Marriott - following the 1-0 defeat to the All-Stars. Several guests are said to have attended the meeting, with many "admiring" the view of the Petronas Twin Towers in the background. Amad later revealed he had been subjected to insults about his mother from some fans. Meanwhile, Garnacho - on the tour after being told to "pray" he finds a new club following a public dressing down in front of team-mates by Ruben Amorim - did the gesture without any clear provocation. The 20-year-old was involved in a fan altercation while out in the city as the fan seemed to invade his personal space and also looked very unbothered during a shirt signing event. One eyewitness claimed he removed his shades after getting through the packed pen, while Amorim later chuckled in a press conference when a reporter asked if there was any chance of Garnacho staying at the club. Amorim, 40, is said to have told a colleague about how exhausting the post-season tour had been, especially in the humidity of Malaysia. Man Utd finished their tour by beating Hong Kong 3-1 off a brace from Chido Obi and a late header from Ayden Heaven. The club lifted the Defining Education Challenge Cup as a result of the win, but the trophy was so undervalued that a press officer carried it back to the dressing room. In the first game back in Kuala Lumpur, Man Utd stars had been delayed in collecting their silver medals when the referee and linesman had returned to the dressing room before being called back out. All in all the tour was estimated to generate around £10million for the club - which should at least leave the club's financial department a little happier- although you would imagine a post-season tour next year may not be on the cards. Inside Ronnie O'Sullivan's former life on a CANAL BOAT as snooker legend prepares to swap modest livelihood for Middle East luxury
The biggest name in snooker, Ronnie O'Sullivan is widely considered as the best player of all-time. The seven-time world champion has won 41 ranking events and has broken nearly every record in the game. Now his next steps are to move to the Middle East after his 17-7 defeat by Zhao Xintong in the World Championship semi-finals earlier this May. The defeat stopped O'Sullivan from having a chance to break another record - the most World Snooker Championship titles - but he was full of praise for 28-year-old Xintong. During the match, O'Sullivan was seen struggling to find the right cue to play with as he altered between two different cues from different manufacturers. It was a tournament, by his own volition, that saw the Rocket struggle to get going amid a lack of form coming into the Crucible. But following his defeat, O'Sullivan made the surprising admission that he intends to leave the UK to live in the Middle East, in a post-match interview with BBC Sport. 'I think I am going to be moving out of the UK this year. I'll be moving away to the Middle East. We'll see how it goes - I might be back in six months.' Whilst it looks like O'Sullivan is set to be moving to the Middle East, it wouldn't be the first time he has upped sticks and moved on - he has previously moved into and lived on a luxury canal boat. Considering his rich history of winning title after title, one would have thought the snooker champ would have splashed out on a fancier and much bigger boat like a super yacht. The 49-year-old spent £130,000 on a 60-foot canal boat back in 2018 which he moored at Regent's Canal, allowing him to traverse the rivers of north and east London. Speaking to Matt Smith on Eurosport, O'Sullivan said: 'It's no big yacht but it's alright. 'I lived on a boat about seven or eight years ago in London and I loved it. 'I spent about three or four months living on it but couldn't use it because I had to get back to work - but I always had it in my mind that I'd buy another one.' His water pad was not your usual canal boat with comfortable furnishings such as a sofa, rug and a television as well as an indoor fireplace to give that cosy feel. The boat remarkably contains a double bed and en-suite bathroom with tiled floors and redwood vanity units with granite work tops. Moreover, the humble abode included a state-of-the-art kitchen with a double oven and a wooden oval table, perfect for hosting friends on an evening. O'Sullivan spoke of the boat, saying it was much better than being stuck in a hotel room, allowing him to invite his pals over to watch the snooker. Yet, just a year later, the Rocket put the floating home for sale for £129,950 without looking to jump ship to another canal boat. In recent years, O'Sullivan has struggled on and off the table, previously stating that he has taken medication to deal with anxiety. He had a three-month absence from the sport earlier in the season, leading to speculation about his future, as he pulled out of the German Masters and the UK Open. Given he has a connection to the Middle East already with a snooker academy in Saudi Arabia, the move abroad may be the change he needs to come back to the Crucible revitalised. O'Sullivan said in his BBC Sport interview: 'A new life somewhere else [in the Middle East]. 'I don't know how that is going to pan out. 'I will still try to play snooker but I don't know what the future looks like for me really. 'It is a big part of my life but I have to try and figure out what my future looks like, whether it's playing or not.' Suggestions of O'Sullivan putting the cue down could certainly be inferred from these quotes, but perhaps the move to the Middle East away from Essex is the key to his future in the sport.
