UNRWA: Aid distribution system in Gaza "death trap" not Aimed at addressing hunger

Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini has said that another day of aid distribution in Gaza is another day of death traps.
In a statement on Tuesday, Lazzarini explained that day after day, dozens of people are reported killed and wounded at distribution points run by Israel and private security companies.
He added that this degrading system continues to force thousands of hungry and needy people to walk dozens of kilometers, excluding the most vulnerable and those living in remote areas. Lazzarini emphasized that this system is not intended to address hunger.
The UN official continued: "Aid must be delivered and distributed safely and on a large scale. This can only be achieved in Gaza through the United Nations, including UNRWA, which has the experience, knowledge, and trust of the community."
Lazzarini stressed that "Israel" must lift the blockade and allow the United Nations safe and unhindered access to deliver and distribute aid safely. This is the only way to avoid widespread starvation, including for one million children.
He pointed out that more than 12,000 UNRWA staff provide health, sanitation, and psychosocial services in one of the harshest and most difficult environments.
Lazzarini revealed that UNRWA warehouses outside Gaza are filled with the equivalent of 6,000 truckloads of aid, and he considered deliberately allowing food to spoil and medicines to expire to be outrageous.
Earlier on Tuesday, the government media office in Gaza confirmed, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the death toll at the "Israeli-American aid distribution centers" since this morning had risen to 36, with more than 208 injured. This brings the total death toll at the "Israeli-American aid distribution centers" to 163 martyrs and 1,495 injured, all of them starving civilians seeking a living under siege and starvation.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the death of 54,981 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 126,920 others.
This is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and rescue crews.

Activist "Ajar": I Reject Germany's Support for "Israeli" War Machine in Gaza
Berlin - (Saba): German activist Yasmin Ajar, who was arrested by the Israeli enemy forces in international waters along with her companions on board the Madeleine, a ship heading to the Gaza Strip to break the blockade, said she rejects the German government's support for the Israeli war machine that is committing genocide in Gaza. In media statements on Thursday, Ajar demanded that the German government fulfill its humanitarian duty and send aid to the people of Gaza and stop sending weapons that support Israeli crimes against civilians.
