The bustling Pearl Street Mall in the heart of the city was the scene of a shocking incident on Sunday afternoon.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the nature of the attack just after 5.20pm local time, stating: "We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available."

Eyewitnesses recounted to CBS Colorado that an individual threw Molotov cocktails at attendees of a peaceful event organised in solidarity with Israeli hostages still held in Gaza.

Boulder Police have evacuated several blocks of Pearl Street Mall following the incident.
Authorities have identified the procession along 13th Street and Pearl Street as the focus of the suspect's attack, confirming "several victims" were harmed, reports Birmingham Live.
Videos uploaded minutes after the attack depict the ensuing pandemonium.

The targeted event, dubbed Run For Their Lives, kicked off at 1pm local time starting from Pearl Street and 8th Street.
