Ex-England youth international among group returning for Swindon Women
Swindon Town Women have looked to ensure their defensive stability for next season after bringing back multiple defenders to the squad.
Richard Wood has continued to build his squad for next season as Swindon Women look to push for promotion from the FA Women's National League Division One South West.

Swindon have looked to keep much of the group from last season around after they performed well in finishing third and winning the Wiltshire County Cup.
The barrage of contract announcements has persisted with the reveal of five defensive players sticking around.

Key player pens new contract with Swindon Women
Goalkeeper Hannah Cox, who made 17 appearances last season, will remain on between the sticks, having established herself after previous spells with Oxford United, Wycombe Wanderers, and Abingdon United.

Sahara Osborne-Ricketts, who was part of an England under-17 training camp as a young player, will continue to marshal the defence as she agreed to a new contract, having been a key figure in the side last season.
Fellow centre-back Isi Meade has also signed on for next season. The defender established herself in the side last season, making 19 appearances, after arriving from Actonians Ladies last summer.
Katie Sherwood is a third defender to commit for next season, another with ties to Oxford, but joined towards the end of the 2023/24 season and was a regular fixture in Wood's side in 2024/25.
Taylor MacDonald will also remain an option in the middle of the park, where she has shown herself capable of playing in a more traditional role as well as a holder.

MacDonald has been a big feature of the last two seasons under Wood, making 50 appearances and netting nine times.
As well as these retentions, there was also the announcement of a first contract for 17-year-old attacker Elise Clayton after she had a strong year with Chiarna Deller's development side and made eight appearances last season for the first team, netting once.
The youngster who has been with Swindon in the academy since 2012 will be given the chance to show she deserves a permanent role in Wood's first team.
Wood said of Clayton: "Elise Clayton is an exceptionally talented young player who demonstrated at the end of last season that she is ready to begin training and earning opportunities with the first team.
"In training, she has proven capable of competing for a place at this level. To help her thrive, we must support her, ensure she faces no undue pressure, and allow her to continue enjoying her football.'

Non-League goalscoring hotshot Jake Tabor looks set to have the chance to impress in the EFL as he will join Swindon Town on a trial this summer. Tabor opted to leave Amersham Town this summer to pursue a higher level of football, having scored 127 goals in 91 appearances in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North, the ninth tier of English football. Advertisement In May, it was revealed that Tabor had agreed to go on trial at a League Two club, a jump of five divisions, and The Moonraker has reported that Swindon will welcome him through their doors once pre-season begins next week. The Adver floated Tabor's name to a source close to the club earlier this summer, and at that point, it seemed likely he would get his shot with Crawley Town or Gillingham, but Holloway has moved to give him a shot in professional football in recent days. Swindon will be hoping that Tabor can emulate the success that Charlie Austin had stepping out of Non-League and scoring goals in the EFL back in 2009/10. Advertisement The former Amersham striker has been on trial with Wycombe Wanderers before, although he did not earn a contract at Adams Park, who were able to turn Richard Kone into a success in the EFL after he joined from Athletic Newham in 2024, after scoring 88 goals in 109 games. Swindon had evaluated multiple Non-League players in January as Holloway looked for an injection of energy into his team, although none reached his standards for fitness, and at that point of the season, it was not feasible to bring them up to speed. The man who has scored more than a century of goals across the last three seasons will have to impress more than those fellow Non-League players in Holloway's famously punishing pre-season running schedule. Speaking to Chall on YouTube about his journey, Tabor said: 'It all started just playing Sunday football. I have never really played at a great level or in academy football. 'In the last two or three seasons, I have had a massive rise while scoring loads of goals, and following that, I have been getting more attention and more goals. Everyone says, 'He is doing well, but it is at Step Five or Step Six', so now it is time to put myself in a challenging environment and see if I can live up to it. 'Everyone thinks I am a big fish in a small pond, but hopefully I can prove them all wrong.' The striker may now get the chance to show he is worthy of the attention, with Swindon beginning their pre-season against Step Four sides Swindon Supermarine on July 5 and Melksham Town on July 12.

Football legends reunite for evening of entertainment at County Ground

The Tottenham Hotspur legends and Swindon Town alumni joined fans at the Nigel Eady County Ground on Wednesday, June 11 for 'An Evening with Micky Hazard and Ossie Ardiles'. Advertisement Swindon welcomed the former midfielders to the Legends Lounge to entertain an audience with tales from their impressive playing careers. Ardiles and Hazard spoke to supporters about their time at White Hart Lane and the County Ground, their time in English football and their experiences on the international stage. Ardiles managed Swindon from 1989 to 1991, describing the club's 1-0 win over Sunderland in the 1990 Second Division play-off final as one of his all-time favourite achievements. He also made two appearances for Swindon as a player in a career that also saw him win the 1978 World Cup representing Argentina. Teenage marksman claims gold in shooting competition
A teenage marksman has claimed gold in a shooting competition. Finley, a 13-year-old pupil from Lawn Manor Academy in Swindon, took first place in the Hampshire Open Shooting competition, earning a gold medal and setting a new personal best of 540 points. Russell Langdown, head of school at Lawn Manor Academy, said: "Finley's dedication to his sport and how he has really excelled in a relatively short space of time is something he should be very proud of.
