BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Sweet Baby's Farm in Youngstown opened its gates for the spring season with its first 'Spring Fling' event. They are selling 500 different types of plants, including fruit trees, shrubs, and local vegetables.
The family-owned business grows plants locally on their farm.
'We started out in around 2016. We've been growing since before then, but we made it official in 2016,' Sweet Baby's Farm Owner Rena Webb said.
Many people stopped by to bring home fresh plants and learn from the Bay County Master Gardeners.
'Our goal is simply education. Everything we do is to educate our public. Our clients have better maintain the long the right way to take care of their shrubs,' Volunteer Master Gardener Steve Bates said.

They are handing out educational pamphlets. One of their most popular guides is how to start a blueberry garden.
'They've been selling a lot of blueberries. So we have a blueberry handout. That tells them that they need to have an acidity sour for the blueberries. So almost any question you want to ask on home gardening, lawn care, shrubs, hopefully, we have the answer,' Bates said.
12 vendors are also selling locally grown products. Sweet Baby's Farm hopes the event introduces customers to the simple pleasures of gardening.
'It's very stress relieving and it is something I want to continue in the future because it's something I've grown up around,' Webb said.
The Spring Fling event will continue on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sweet Baby's Farm.
